Great customer service. Chad setup my deliveries and made everything super simple in the chaos of moving. Jason was very helpful getting the containers onto a very tight street right in the perfect spot on my driveway. Thank you PacRat for making my move as easy as possible!

My experience with this company is viewing the price they pay truckers to move your load. $1.30 a mile is what they are paying the broker. That broker is gotta find a trucker who will do it for less than that. It is going to attract a certain kind of truck to move your stuff. Be careful out there.

We have used this company 1-800-PACK-RAT several times and have always been satisfied. Chat work tirelessly to make sure get got what we wanted and when we needed it. Rob made the delivery,
and pickup easy and adjusted the placement until we were happy with it. Highly professional. Highly recommend 1-800-PACK-RAT and the team that supported us.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all my friends and family for their moving needs. Easy to use and work with and highly professional. The price was great too. Very accommodating. On the day of my pick-up, I mistakenly had my phone on silent and I missed their call. The driver had gone by and left. Once I finally noticed I missed their call, I called them back and the driver returned back. He didn't have to but he did. THANK YOU!

The guys in California helped me SIGNIFICANTLY. I was in a rush to move and had almost zero cash left, they dropped the price down for me and delivered a 12ft container (i originally wanted a 8ft one) But they didn’t charge me extra at all. I guess the pick up driver had accidentally picked up a 12 ft container and they didn’t wanna have him drive all the way back to the warehouse, but it ended up working in my favor.
When they delivered my container both drivers were super nice and understanding about placement. I lived in a small apartment complex with a tiny parking garage but they got it in n out no problem. Shout out to Chad who kept in contact with me every step of the way and to the drivers. Now let’s see if my stuff survives the trip lol

What could go wrong with a container you pack yourself? Well, alot if you use the PODS company. But with Pack Rat, it was smooooooth. And here is why:
Because we live on a winding road in the hills, and because we HAD to have it on that specific day, PODS said they would send their "very best most experienced driver". The guy gets here, checks out our driveway, says "Nope, cant do it", backs out and drives away. Just walked off the job. Didnt care to offer any solutions. Not his problem. Didnt care. So, I call the only other alternative in town, PackRat. If only I had called them first i would have saved myself a month of time, a bunch of money and a lot of stress! Chad at the local officewent over the satellite maps of our roads and property BEFOREHAND. but I was still skeptical....if PODS couldnt do it, how could PackRat? Well, Even though they were fully booked they understood our urgency and squeezed us in after dark!. Regardless that our streets were dark, driver Michael pulls up, looks at the hill and says "yep, just as I thought, easy!" It wasn't easy TBH, but he really knew his truck and wanted to make it happen as much as we did! And he got it right where we wanted it!
Cut to weeks later, the unit is full and we were convinced it was way past the weight limit, but dispatcher Chad assured us that people always think its heavier than it is, but that they would weigh it on site and would even help us unload a few things if overweight (which it wasnt). The pickup driver Forrest was another gem. Since it was full it was harder to maneuver out but he's an experienced trucker and made it happen. We wanted Unit #2 in a different spot and Forrest said he could do it. He trekked it all the way up and down our hill, made several attempts to position it in an even more difficult area. It took an hour, but they never gave up. Once he left, later that evening we noticed that the small safety pull string mechanism that allows you to open it from the inside was missing. I was given Chads personal cell phone number, so i texted him and he answers me right back, and says "Im sending out two drivers right now, one to pick up and another to drop off". And within an hour, as promised, they were here to swap the contaners! No charge. I didn't even have to fight or beg. They just did it because it was the right thing to do. People who are good at what they do, and who have pride in what they do, is a rare thing. And so, I felt that even though I have a whole house, company, to move and a million things to do, they deserve a review.
UPDATE! 1 month later: JUNE 19th 6 days till moving day:
We are now on container unit #3! Unit 1, Unit 2 were both picked up and dropped off on EXACTLY THE DAY that I scheduled on their customer portal! Today Jason arrives first thing in the morning a took unit 2 right off our cliff ledge parking area, drove it back to Garden Grove and came right back with Container #3!!!
It is just not normal to have big national businesses that involve logistics and so many moving parts work this smoothly! This is 2024! Nobody wants to work. Nobody except the Pack Rat people in Garden Grove.
Disclaimer: The Pack Rat main customer service is in the US and are easy to get a hold of, and are very nice and capable but my review is for their local crew in Garden Grove who handle the logistics, storage, pick ups and i dunno what else. The local crew is who the customer is going to deal with. Maybe its just the Garden Grove office, could be. Or maybe its a company thing. But the team that serves Pack Rack in LA and Orange County CA is the best! If it not for them our cross country move to FL would have been a mess based on the horrors ive heard about cross country moving.
