Been here 4 times. Always they push back the appointment or cancel the appointment and always same reason saying short staff. They don't even inform on call. After reaching to the place, they inform you. Never got a single service just because of this. Cannot step back in to fullerton location.

Got car repaired for alternator, belts and TBar connection of my motor/radiator. Radiator analysis, Radiator flushed to remove air and new fluids added and topped off. Month later, radiator hose connection to motor comes off due to incorrectly install. Came back to have it Re-installed but engine might have been compromised. Getting second opinion somewhere else. Mechanic that re-checked was good. Prior mechanic, no longer there. Mechanics hired are 50/50 at their multiple locations. Hmmmm? Coincidence?

The reason why I give this business one star is because the worker who helped me gave me the price of the tire at 177 dollars and cents... I asked her if that price included installation to which she told me Yes, I decide to buy the 4 tires and when I want to pay for them she tells me that they are paid until the work is finished... and that I should wait for an hour and a half... when she gives me the car and I pay, she charges me I paid 895 dollars for the tires and I left quickly and I didn't realize that they charged me for the installation and it is not right that they deceive people with lies to get more money.

Absolutely worst customer service, both in the shop & store. Pulled in with an emergency and they turned me away said too late even though they still have over an hour until close. Then went next door to the store asked about a part & clerk said he can't look it up, offered no help & rushed me out. Zero stats!! No compassion for someone in desperate need.

Even though I was not expecting to find out that my radiator was cracked the experience they provided was great. I did have to keep calling to keep myself updated because I only anticipated to leave my car there all Saturday but didn’t get it back until Tuesday.

Thanks for taking me in last min (Lynda), Saved me from a bigger problem. Customer Service was OUTSTANDING...However, employee who stayed back should be reevaluated. He did a good job BUT his attitude was not welcoming nor pleasant. Only reason this review is getting 4 stars and not 5 is because of him and Lynda's great service.

The service was fast and trustworthy!! The waiting room does need some TLC how ever... I did see a coffee stand in there but with the oil smell and being so dirty, I wasn't sure if taking a cup of coffee was a good idea. Overall it was ok To sit and wait for my car. The price was fair, plus the coupon's online helped! The counter girl was friendly and fast on checking in my car! Y'all need your car service go visit them good old PEP BOYS!!

I do not recommend buying tires from Pep Boys. I bought 4 tires with road hazard warranty about 2 months ago and got a flat. Took my car in because I had a slow leak. Now I have to buy a new tire that cost the same as a brand new tire.

Went in on Friday Dec 8 to get nail out of my tire. Told me I needed a new tire and had to order it special. Kept the car until Saturday and then told me they don't have the equipment to remove the rim. WHAT? Anyway, I took the car to Allen Tires on Imperial and they removed the nail for $30. PEP BOYS IS A COMPLETE RIPOFF! Do not go to this location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went in for a check engine light and was also aware of an issue with my gear shifter. I specified all I wanted was the engine issue fixed. I was quoted $3600 for a pretty hefty engine tune up, paid up at pick up, and when I went to get inside, my shifter was completely broken and inoperable. Before dropping it off, I could get in, get moving, and only occasionally had issues shifting into park and turning it off, with a warning message saying it needed to be shifted into park. I could get around with that by flicking the button on the shifter. Upon pickup, the mechanic informed me he tried to fix it "to be nice" despite me telling them to leave it alone, but ended up rendering it effectively inoperable. To shift gears upon pickup of my vehicle, I was instructed needed to completely remove my gear shifter and use a screwdriver to manually activate a lever every single time I wanted to shift my gears.I escalated my concerns to the manager and he told me it was not his problem and not his fault, that if it was broken when it came in that it was not their fault it was more broken when it was leaving despite me asking several times for them not to mess with it.The mechanic was also aware of the work around with flicking the button and chose to go ahead and disassemble and break my shifter anyways. I said I didn't want them touching my car anymore and I asked them to tow it to the dealership. The manager told me over the phone they would cover the cost of towing, which he then backed out on. Upon pressing him he offered $100 credit to tow my car and I said forget it.Due to the car being unable to shift gears, it was stuck in the garage in a way that the tow truck driver was unable to tow it and the mechanic refused to move my car until pressed by the manager. The mechanic working on my car was incredibly rude, demeaning, and condescending the entire time I interacted with him. The manager also let me know my car wasn't inoperable, but totally fine if I did what the mechanic showed me with the screwdriver every single time I needed to shift. Tell me how that is safe in ANY CAPACITY???Upon further inspection, they also caused paint damage to my car's driver side door, creating a huge scratch and also ripping the "U" off the "malibu" on the side of my car. I am FURIOUS and will be filing an automotive bureau complaint as well as a better business bureau complaint. Higher management with customer service was completely unhelpful when I explained the situation and escalated.Review Update: I just had the issue fixed with the dealership and they informed me that the wiring in my shifter was chewed and severed due to rodents while at Pep Boys, likely while I left it overnight for the repairs.

Pepboy mechanics aren't really mechanics, they are techs and there is only one master mechanic at select locations. I learned this by calling several pep boys soliciting quotes for a problem with my vehicle. The place I went to didn't have their stuff together and had a long line of customers. When I asked them for a quote they couldn't provide it. I ended up going home and then looking for a local shop to fix my problem. Previously when I asked the pepboys employees for a quote they had given me a number of the top of their heads and that number was $1000. The local mechanic charged me $90 to fix the problem. If the service is bad, there are long lines and there are no real mechanics looking at your problem why would you go to a big chain shop like pepboys? The first issue I encountered when looking up the chain online was that of stripped bolts and pepboys refusing to fix problems their technicians caused, so it's not like pepboys isn't going to cause you problems if you get them to look at your car. I'm glad I didn't get my car serviced here and I wouldn't recommend this car repair shop chain. My advice, look for a trusted local mechanic and ask them to look at it. Don't give up and settle for $1000 repair bills.

I went in and waited 4 hours for them to diagnose my AC. They finally gave me an estimate of $2500. saying everything on my air conditioner had to be fixed and replaced. I paid the diagnostic fee and went to the dealership. Only one hose had to be replaced. Pepboys was previously my go to place, but never again. A month ago another location misdiagnosed a steering issue that would have cost $1000. I went to the dealership instead and it was actually a recall item and no charge. Pepboys is no longer reliable and seems to be scamming people now. That's a real shame.
