I hadn’t bought a new car in over 20 years and was hesitant and overwhelmed by how the process has changed. The staff and my individual sales person Emmanuel were thorough, informed and quite pleasant. Definitely recommend Ocean Subaru of Fullerton for your Subaru. We communicated by phone first and they had the car and trim that i wanted delivered to their lot before i even got there for a test drive. I didn’t have to wait at all. Outstanding. I am very happy with my new 2025 Forester Sport. ?

Search their name on Reddit and you’ll see many people being scammed by this dealership, with BS added fees and “extras”.

I wanted to look at cars but I didn't NEED a new car so I didn't want high pressure. I got exactly what I wanted: a friendly and low-pressure experience. My new car is exactly what I wanted. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

HUGE thanks to John & Chris at Ocean Subaru for getting me an amazing deal on a 2024 Forster wilderness. I absolutely love this car!!! I was able to trade in my 2021 Forester basic model that was at 21% interest for a low interest rate of 4.9%. They really listened to what I wanted and they certainly delivered. I drove off in my new car happier than I could have ever imagined.

No accountability, bait and switch, money hungry, and compromising safety with false narratives saying they “fixed” the car after trying to close a deal knowing the sensors were never replaced. Don’t believe them if they say a discount over the phone/text. They do that to make you go in person and switch up in person.
If you have a daughter and wife don’t bring them here. As the General manager Omar is okay with yelling at women even over the phone even when I said I was on my lunch break. way to ruin 2 days of mine.
And Mark and Omar both got defensive when the questions were brought to attention. If you’re a woman this is not a safe place to purchase a car as they know nothing of what they’re selling, overpromise and belittle you. Sad business ownership and un ethical values. I write this review after trying to bring it up to management, but they did not want blood on they’re hands and prefer to punish the consumer and say “ oh well we’re uploading the car today and someone else will buy it “ so much for almost compromising my safety and now burdening it to another person that purchases that car.

Very unprofessional. I went in for a test drive on a used trade in vehicle that had been pre negotiated both verbally and electronically with Kevin and his management team. We test drove the car and loved it. Unfortunately, our joyful experience came to an end when Mark, Kevin’s manager, interfered. He mentioned that the price we had previously negotiated was no longer valid and did not even try to work with us on pricing. They wasted about 4 hours of our time and caused a level of frustration that I can’t easily recover from or ever get back. The management’s bait and switch tactics used to prey on the very people who keep their business alive are unethical, and I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Overall, Kevin was the only good part of the experience. I hope the upper management gets involved and makes this right!
Quick update (8-26-24): We were able to talk to upper management to address the situation we encountered. They will be getting back to us today. Thank you, Ocean Subaru Upper Management, for looking into this.
Omar got back to us with hope and ended up being just like Mark a waste of time. How can you guys live with yourselves? Good luck to your pathetic business practices!

Typical car dealer, bait and switch, nonsense!
AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!
I contacted them a few days ahead of time, online, to get a quote on a vehicle.
They sent me an email showing the precise vehicle and a price of $35,925 plus the normal taxes and fees, etc., of course.
Everybody knows that. - Right?
I go there on the weekend to purchase the vehicle, which should be about $40,309 +/-, out the door, great.
I brought a copy of their email, sent to me, to the dealership because , sadly, most of these dealerships are dishonest.
Case in point:
They first raised the price of the vehicle by ~$3500 to $39,395 on the paperwork, completely ignoring the email.
I had handed them their own email with the price clearly on it and discussed it with them!!
So, now they can charge me more taxes based on $39K instead of $36K, plus whatever else they claim that they put on the vehicle and put those additional profits in their pocket.
The taxes are a percentage based on the sale price, right?
Were they hoping that I wouldn't notice? - Seriously
In the end:
What a surprise!!! - not!
The price of the vehicle is magically now $53,216.75 up from ~$40,309!!!!!!!!
They tried to charge me an additional ~$12,907.75!!!!!!!!
That's ~$13,000 more! - incredible!
After a few choice words.
I walked out!!
I hope the FTC will deal with this place.
FWIW:
I made it abundantly clear that I had full intention of taking that vehicle home that day.
Just in case, I had brought my checkbook and could have paid cash for the vehicle.
This is just the abridged version of the story.
This experience was really bad.
Their loss!
I have already planned to purchase a better equipped vehicle from another dealership tomorrow. - I hope, we'll see!
There are more than a dozen of these vehicles within 30 miles of my home.
I am sure someone will be willing to take my money.
Follow up:
The very next morning, I went to Sierra Subaru in Monrovia.
I followed the same protocol.
I brought in their email with a quote on a specific vehicle.
I sat down with a sales representative.
We established the out the door sale price of the vehicle including the government required taxes and fees.
The dealership ran a credit check on me establishing my 830 FICA score.
I then filled out and signed a gazillion documents, which is completely normal.
I cut them a sizable down payment check.
Financed the balance.
Done!
Drove the vehicle home.
Under no circumstance should anybody waste their time, nor endure the unnecessary stress, as I did, here at this Fullerton dealership.
Go to Sierra Subaru of Monrovia, be treated with respect and professionalism.
At this Monrovia dealership, you can purchase the vehicle of your choosing, in a haggle free, honorable environment.
At the Monrovia dealership, there is no pressure and certainly no unsolicited FTC violating dealer addons.
Then, take a pleasant drive in your shiny new vehicle and call it a day!
And no, understandably so, I will not have any further contact with this Fullerton dealership.
That ship has sailed.

STAY FAR AWAY! bought this car in 2022, the dealer said it had 100K power train warranty. flash forward to today, and trying to get service and the dealer says warranty expired with 60K warranty only. The salesman lied to get me to purchase the car, silly me for trusting them. The manager, Anthony Gonzales, confirmed that there is nothing they can do even when their employees lie to make a sale. Stay far far away from this place if you want a trustworthy dealer to purchase a car from.
