I went to exchange a shirt my daughter had received for Christmas and I was met by the cashier (possibly the manager). A second employer came out from the back mentioning she had to take her break. I was told the clearance items were packed up and in a box in the back (???). I asked if I could exchange it for a different shirt and pay the difference and I was told I couldn't without a receipt. I had no problem up to this point. However, I started looking at the clearance shirts she had on the floor because there were a lot and I got the feeling she didn't want to help me. That second employee that was supposed to go on her break was following me around pretending to fix merchandise. I walked to the back of the store to look at the toddler clothes in clearance, and I heard her yell to the manager and immediately she came to the back to check what I was doing. I had no purse, no bag, nowhere to even put anything even if that was my intent...but the issue is, there were about 6 other patrons they could've given the same attention to and didn't. I've read the other reviews and I'm seeing a trend when it comes to black people. They won't be getting anymore of my money at that store.

Itzel was the rudest cashier! I love children’s place but they definitely need to work on their cashiers!

Carmen, the manager is disgustingly rude. I was there yesterday to return my child’s clothes that I ordered online.I came early, because the prior week the store was busy and I didn’t want to hold up the line with my returns. There wasn’t a line luckily, when Carmen began to help me she quickly had an attitude. I had the receipt-paper and digital the tags and the clothes. She asked me if I had wash them which I told her no. She repeatedly smelled every item of clothing which was incredibly rude.Does she do this for all returns or just for black customers returning items? When she asked me for the card to put the money back on, I asked if the merchandise card I had would work because I was planning on buying more clothes.Without even looking opt acknowledging me she began to shake her head rapidly and say “no, no, no,no” with her back turn to me.She stated it had to be on a merchandise card (like the one I was holding) once she seen that I had one she said, “well, THAT one won’t work. It has to be a new one.”Which isn’t true since the Riverpark children’s place had no issue putting multiple returns on the same merchandise card. When she spoke to me she was short, rude and extremely unprofessional. She offered no help and was barely off any assistance.Once the transaction was done I let her know how rude she was, and it was unwarranted since I was polite and did what I can to make the process easier. She offered no apology or showed any emotion other then bitter, hateful and rudeness.I will not be shopping at this disaster store again. I understand the store being messy during back to school. However this store is always unkempt, dirty and in disarray.Maybe if Carmen put more time in effectively managing her store and merchandise instead of harassing paying customers she might be competent enough to do her job.Her attitude is unacceptable, her social skills are even worse. I would avoid this store at all cost. The one in Riverpark is cleaner and their employees are nice and seemed to be properly trained.Carmen can use some customer service and emotional intelligence training ASAP.I didn’t deserve this treatment, I hope her behavior is correct for future customers.

I had the rudest, most disgusting experience yesterday with the store manager, carmen. I accompanied my friend as she was exchanging items and purchasing new items. Unprovoked, carmen was short and rude with my friend, a paying customer. carmen asked if the clothes had been worn or washed and my friend stated they had not. carmen sniffed the clothes in front us and then turned around and sniffed the clothes again. I’ve worked in retail and have never done this or witnessed it done unless the clothes looked worn or smelled of something. These clothes were neither of those things. When my friend tried to ask questions, carmen was short when answering her as if she didn’t want to be there. Maybe carmen doesn’t like her job and doesn’t want to be there. Maybe children’s place should help her out by promoting her to customer and no one will have to be subjected to her attitude. Her attitude was so nasty. Also my friend tried asking about adding the refund to the merchandise card she had in her hand, without looking carmen kept raising her voice saying “ no, no, no!” carmen then said it had to go on a merchandise card— my friend asked “ like the one I’m holding” carmen finally turned and looked at the card in my friends hand and said it had to go on a new card. Even if that’s store policy she could’ve acknowledged my friend and answered her question politely. I’m glad I didn’t buy anything that day. The store is dingy and disheveled. carmen should focus on cleaning the store and customer service. I’d hate to think that carmen’s actions were racially motivated. Does she treat all patrons this way or just black ones? Anyway, the store looks nasty and trashy and carmen’s attitude is nasty and trashy.

Terrible experience. Went in to shop for my little one, decided to purchase a coat for my baby and while I was being checked out at the register the worker was speaking into her Apple Watch and saying something along the lines of "you f**k me the best" THIS WAS EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL AND DISGUSTING, literally you are working at a children's clothing store.... Such an embarrassment will not be returning to this store!

This place has the rudest staff ever!!!! And I hope they all get fired and rehire much nicer people. They are lazy and don’t want to help you with anything. They stand there and watch your every move as if I’m going to steal. The store is always dirty. When I go to pick up an order it’s never ready while they are just standing around talking. I will never ever shop here again until they bring in better staff.

This store is an absolute mess....I went in to pick up an order and while there I decided to look at a few things. The clothes were such a mess and couldn't find anything. They had 1 cashier at the register who was an absolute mess, slow and the line was so long that she never called anyone for help. So after standing in line waiting to purchase and get my online order...I went and asked a manager for help since the line was so long..she acted like it was a chore stopping to come help customers. I had to ask her not once but twice to come help..I mean this place needs to really get it together.

I will never ever support Childrens Place Ever again! Every time I come here to shop the workers are always always watching me like a hawk! News flash not EVERY BLACK PERSON DOESN'T STEAL!!! This is the third time this store has done this to me. And I'm sick of it!!! The employees are racist! And I will never give this business another penny. The second time I went here, I bought my daughters two piece set...A two piece set, she asked me where did I get the shorts from, as if I added the shorts to the top to steal it or get a deal I guess. Smh! I told her it's a set, and asked her to follow me to the rest of the sets so she could see, then she goes "Oh I remember this set" smh! I really hope others stop supporting businesses like this one. They don't mind taking our money, but don't trust us shopping there. I wish I couldn't have this place no stars

I had the worst experience with the manager Sheila Romero at store 1499. I was trying to return, exchange, or get credit for an item I purchased before COVID 19 store closures... obviously the 45 day return window had passed however Sheila didn't take into consideration that her store was closed and she said the store register was smarter than she was because "the computer" didn't let her help me.... God help her if her computer ever has a glitch. On top of that she had the nerve to have attitude and look at me up and down as she walked away. Poor customer service from a manager. I had planned on shopping there as soon as I resolved this issue but obviously that changed my mind right away.

Worst place to do a return or exchange! Even though I have the item in perfect condition, I still need a receipt. They didn't even bother to look up the transaction!

They have the worst workers and it's always a mess here. The worker literally was talking about us to another co worker, because we wanted to look at some shirt. It was messed up and she was trying to fold. The mess had nothing to do with us, and it's your job to keep this place nice and neat. Never again shopping here. I have shopped here for 14 years and it's always been a mess but for a worker to stand there talking s*** about customers no thank you. Without our business you wouldn't have a job. So keep that in mind before you talk about customers.

Always dirty, disorganized and full of rude unhelpful employees. Never shop here. Carters in Riverpark is way better.
