I recently hired Tax Geek to do my taxes. There charge isn't cheap, but since they were located in the vicinity of my home, thought I'd give them a try. Everything seemed to have worked out ok, that is until the IRS informed me they made a slight change on my earnings and I'd have to refile. Supplied this letter to Tax Geek showing what changes the IRS wanted me to report on an Amended Return. Since the CPA was out of the office her assistant put in one new figure on my tax return that was saved in their system. She run the program and told me there wasn't much of a change in the end. It took about 5-mins to input this new figure and run the program, but I was told the CPA is the one who will make the final decision on whether or not I'd be charged a second time. I was contacted about one week later and message was left on voicemail. I was informed that if I wanted Tax Geek to Amend my taxes it would cost me $200. I was charged $250 the first time and now you want to charge me another $200 for about 5-mins of work?!? Thank's just Highway Robbery in my book. You would think that Tax Geek would make this simple change at no change to have repeat business but some businesses don't think like that anymore. This is why Tax Geek has now lost my future business. Be fully aware who does your taxes and ask questions like if you'll be charged a second time if there is a slight change needed on your tax return. Be very aware so not to be very surprisingly disappointed like I have .

Great service and efficient processing. I wasn't sure of my tax options due to a recent divorce and all of my questions were answered, options were discussed, and my returned was filed! I will use these Geeks, again!

First time client at tax geek. First I wanna say thank you to Elisa she was very helpful and informing with my tax preparation and gave me great advice for future filing. Before I decided to come to tax geek I reviewed and read a few different tax preparers on yelp and I know not all reviews are applicable to everyone but reading tax geek made me feel like it could possibly be a good fit for us. Years before i would go to H&R Block but the previous 2-3 years they have messed up our files or failed to submit a form. And then had to go through hoops to get them amended and get it fixed so I was weary on who to go to now because I didn't want the same situation to occur. I'm glad I found Tax Geek I was happy with my return most importantly but also I felt comfortable and felt like they were helpful with whatever concerns I had. I will definitely continue going to them moving forward. Thank you again Elisa !

I went to tax geek for 2 years before I decided it was not the best option for our returns. First year was fine. 2019 was not so great. There was missed stock paperwork that wasn't filed. I noticed when I got home and emailed right away with no response, also called. I decided to let it go, not go back, and file the adjustment myself. This year we did Turbo Tax and it was most likely the same system Tax Geek uses, if not better. Still, I have received 3 calls from Tax Geek following up on the extension they filed for us??? I disregarded it as a mistake the first 2 times. This last time, today, it set me off. I told whoever called that we do not want to use their service any longer and why was an extension filed on our behalf? She said 'Oh it's just something we say to see if you need to still do your taxes'. How completely wrong is that? Please understand that if customers aren't coming back or requesting an extension it's probably because they do not want to use your service any longer.

Stay away from this place like the Covid19!!!This is my second year with tax geek. I was previously with Vargas Tax. But due to illness they retired. Tax Geek bought our account so they can do taxes for us. Last year we went to them after we found this out. It was very hard to get a hold of them. They will not return calls. It was like a black hole. But we got our IRS money on time.This year, it got worse. I went to do my tax with them in the beginning of April because I didn't want it to be like last year. Paid them on the spot. They cashed my personal check soon after.. . .and then, nothing. I began to get worried. I taxed them multiple times asking for the status of my income tax when May began. Nothing. No return calls or text responses. I then began calling. Nothing. No response. On May 14th, I paid a surprised visit. Met the clerk. She said she would call me back by 6pm to update me about my tax status. Nothing. At almost 7pm, I missed the call and a message was left for me to call them back. But they were closed. Today May 17, the last day of tax season. My wife made contact with them. What do you know? They said someone stole my youngest son's ID and claimed him and they have tried to submit my tax info, but could not because that's what the IRS told them.My wife and I went to talk to them in person and that's their story and they were sticking to it. They must think we are stupid! They couldn't answer the question on why they never notified us about this until we made contact with them. This was the last day of 2021 tax season. The excuse was, they called and left messages on my phone. I told them I use my phone for a living and check my voice mail everyday. I could see the look on the tax preparer's eyes that she was lying to me. Very unprofessional.At the end, because today is the last day for tax season, I had to send the tax paperwork to the IRS the old fashion way. Certified USPS. To top that off, I paid tax geek over 200 dollars for this service that they should have done. But I ended up doing their job for them and paid the USPS to certify mail my Tax Papers to the IRS.IF YOU ARE READING THIS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE LIKE Covid is coming for you. We are looking for another tax preparer!!!
