Seriously one of the best burritos I've had. It made my day. The woman that helped us was kind and courteous. Plus, it's in the middle of a fantastic market.

Their chicken tacos are to die for! Juicy well seasoned chicken with as many toppings as you want. I also recommend their Birria quesa tacos. Meat is tender and flavorful. They have good prices and they're very friendly

Was recommended by a coworker, supposedly their hot food is pretty good. 1000% ACCURATE!!This is your local neighborhood market with narrow aisles, colorful art work, overfilled shelves, and a small section of baked panadería goods. On the right of the market is their meats and grill. I tried asada fries, queso birria tacos, and asada tacos. Asada Fries: crinkle cut fries, flavorful asada, chopped onions and tomatoes, and their green salsa. I personally can use avocados, but I am sure you can add it with an extra charge. Queso birria tacos: TO DIE FOR!! It is not super greasy like other places, the meat was cooked perfectly and the tacos had a crunch with each bite. These tacos had a good amount of cheese to meat ratio. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the carnitas tacos here. I got the combo with three tacos rice and beans, it's less than $10. Totally worth it. Really soft corn tortilla and soft seasoned carnitas. It's different if you prefer crispy carnitas, it definitely still worth the try. The beans and rice are pretty good too, but nothing special. Definitely will be going back more often for lunch. Perfect if you work downtown; service is great. The inside is a market, there's no where to sit, so plan for takeout.

No place to sit, so it's a grab and eat in your car kind of place. It is located inside the market. I got the "Taco Tuesday" special 2 tacos for $5. They had plenty of meat and were topped with onions, cilantro, and cabbage. Given half a lime and a green and a red hot sauce. It was delicious.

Fresno has an abundance of Mexican restaurants and Taquerias and the two most OVERRATED places that everyone seems to love is El Premio Mayor and La Mananitas. However, I'd like to introduce you to Valley Food Taqueria and their delicious food. The most disgusting and most dissappointing Mexican food I had was from the taqueria in Vallarta on Dakota and Cedar. I don't know how a Mexican grocery stores messes up Mexican food, but they did. I still remember when Valley Food was just an empty building. I've been to their taqueria 3 or 4 times. Their prices are like Robertito prices, but they do have specials. I came here a few times on my lunch because it was close to work. However, everytime I came, they took a very long time. One time I got nachos and the guy took forever to cut the tortillas into triangles and fry them. It was nice to have fresh food, but I only have 30 minutes lunch and was left with only 5 minutes to eat. I occasionally stop by to grab a ready made salad or frozen foods if I don't feel like going to get fast food. I also like that they have both Asian and Mexican knick knacks. Recently, I had their Chorizo breakfast burrito. The picture shows that it comes with veggies for $6.99. However, it comes with only meat, cheese and eggs and it is an extra $1 to add potatoes. I hope they fix that false advertisement soon. Besides a picture of a breakfast burrito consisting of ingredients it doesn't have, I enjoyed every bite of my burrito. I also had to add this, recently went in and got 5 burritos for me and 4 of my coworkers. I got one add potatoes, 2 add potatoes and no cheese, 1 no cheese add pot with sour cream. The other with cheese, add pot and sc. I asked literally a few times if these burritos came with beans. I was told a few times they came with beans because everyone wanted beans. None of our 5 burritos had beans. Flour- Soft and rolled thin. The tortilla was thin, but held the meat cheese and potatoes very well. None of my food fell out. I used to fold burritos for a living and I sucked at it. Whoever folded this burrito is a magician. Eggs- I love a soft scrambled egg and the eggs in here were perfecfly soft scrambled. Chorizo- It had a red seasoning on it, but it didn't stick togetherness, you can tell it was perfectly cooked because it didn't clump together. You can tell the meat was separated. Cheese- perfectly melted inside burrito. Flavor- I've had very salty and very bland breakfast burritos and this was perfect. The best way I could describe this burrito is that is was good and pillowy filled with delicious fillings. Potatoes- Cooked perfectly, nice and soft.Service- The girl who took my order was extremely friendly, they even gave me a sample of their chips and housemade salsa. It was very good. However, not spicy enough for me. Something I think would be perfect for my Yelp friends, Lila and Stephanie. Salsa- I asked for their spicier salsa which is the red one and it went perfectly with my burrito. It was not unbearable, but had a good kick. I saved it because I had extra so I can put it on whatever I have for lunch tomorrow. Lol. It's become one of my most frequented places. The breakfast burrito is easily top 5.

Valley Foods is a locally owned grocery/restaurant store. Located right in downtown Fresno, serving the nearby residents. I stopped by to get a drink and noticed this place isn't just your small convenience store instead it's got a little bit of everything for all your needs. Beside browsing around and getting my drink. I noticed the Taqueria in the back and decided to order an asada burrito. The burrito was on point, full of flavor and the asada was cooked just right to my liking. They also have other tasty items like tacos, hamburgers and breakfast too. I have to swing by again and try it next time. A drink visit turned into a lunch spot for me, so glad I stopped and will be returning again.

It's been a few months and we are now regularly at this store. The produce has stayed reasonably priced, thank you! They have added beer and wine to their inventory as I hoped and I am so pleased to say they have the best price in town on our favorite General Sherman local beer. The wine selection is just ok but they do have some sparkling-type wine coolers I've never heard of. They were a little sweet for me (of course I had to try them lol).We have also tried their hot food counter a bunch more times. They now sell their meats, beans, rice and salsas in larger to go containers so we (way too) often pick up a pound or two of carnitas, beans, rice, and tortillas and we have enough dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day for like $25. I've never seen the brand of tortillas they sell but they are good, the while family likes them (we are picky about tortillas). One of my favorite things at this little store, though, is the little strawberry cheesecake for $4.50 in the fridge case. It's a frequent treat for my daughter and me.
