This particular Save Mart needs a complete overhaul of at least 75% of their employees. Rude, confrontational, arrogant, and slow when checking items like really slow. Now reason I'm leaving this review is due to behaviors one would deem unacceptable in a professional environment especially with the Save Mart logo. Guess it's just a logo now but not a brand that once stood for exceptional customer service. I watched a homeless person come in AND IMMEDIATELY LIKE 5 staff members start following him. I get it he probably has stole before. But what caught my attention is this one particular employee with a beard, hat, small white guy who I guess thinks he is big & tough(small man syndrome) he comes up to this homeless guy who is leaving and starts threatening him in front of all the customers including my 7 year old son. He was saying to this guy as he was following him out of the store " YOU WANNA FIGHT...YOU WANNA FINISH IT " about 3x until the homeless guy was beyond view. This homeless individual was about 5'3 and 100lbs bone rail thin probably hadn't eaten in days. Point being is that employee who "thinks" he can fight is in for a rude awakening one day when he crosses the wrong one. He was only being tough because of his size advantage even though he was only maybe 165 at 5'8 it was still a advantage especially against a malnourished homeless bum. Now if my son wasn't there this guy would have got a piece of my mind and he wouldn't had done anything because unlike him I'm a real fighter (6'0 - 185lbs). I used to compete in Muay Thai regionally and overseas. We don't teach to talk to people like that especially trying to act tough in front of your co-workers. We teach de-escalation & compassion. Oddly enough another customer a older short stout bald Irish looking guy with a beard & quite intimidating himself wasn't happy about that situation either & pointed out later that this employee claims to be a martial arts expert himself and works in the meat dept & brags to customers about his accomplishments. Now come to find out this "regular customer" of 24 years is also a former competitive MMA fighter with a BJJ background & teaches at a local BJJ Dojo. We both agreed that this situation could have been handled differently especially by a self proclaimed martial artist this guy claims to be ?. They should either retrain that hot head or terminate his employment. Customers don't need to see that. He could be a danger to everyone with a temper like that.

I regrettably recount my recent experience with Save Mart in using their rug doctor rental service. Upon completing my rental earlier than anticipated, I sought to return the equipment; however, I encountered challenges as there was no staff available at the designated desk on multiple occasions. Subsequently, I was informed during my second visit that no assistance was accessible for facilitating the return process. As a result, I delegated the task to my husband, only to discover that he was unjustly charged a $37 fee for the oversight, which was indisputably the store's error on 3/24/24. I hope that this feedback serves as constructive criticism for the establishment to enhance its customer service standards and rectify such mishaps in the future.

Made me use the app to use a coupon. Their app is trash. It would not function. I messed with it over 20 min. Their computer engener sucks. The employee apologized that her hands were tied. I had to use the app to get the discount. Ridiculous!

We have been shopping at this store for decades. Recently, it has declined to the point where it is just plain DISGUSTING... If they have an electric scooter available, it's FILTHY. ( I am disabled.) There is often dried blood in the meat section...Yuck! The staff are very NICE, but poorly trained. The entire store should have been remodelled a decade ago. We now go to Vons....It's close, very nice, and really clean! I have tried work to work with the management, and it's obvious that they want to be helpful. BUT, the corporate greed is overwhelming, and I can't do anything about that.,.(They even tried to blame everything on this poor homeless woman that often sits outside. We typically buy her gift cards to Subway across the steet as she is a very sweet lady, but just really needs help that our hopeless government (while wasting billions on a goofy high speed rail) fails to provide. Just go elsewhere.
