First time exploring Fresno and i was wanting a good thrift shop, mad monk is literally the best shop i have ever been to. Its super clean and organized and i found 2 of my favorite albums! Prices were really good as well:) highly recommend!

My husband and I LOVE shopping here!! I have read some of the customer complaints and saw a few on no bathrooms?? Would they like to be to person who cleans the bathrooms?? Have you seen what the public does to bathrooms?? I don’t blame the owner one bit for not having them! If you complain about not having a bathroom, maybe the 78 ounces of the Starbucks coffee you drink while shopping should be scaled back to maybe 8 ounces??!! Just a suggestion, also, I LOVE the owners wicked sense of humor!!! Let’s be nice people, this place is so unique and wonderful, let’s keep it around for many years!!!!!!???????

Huge selection of movies,cds, they even have a
thrift clothing store inside. I traded in some movies and games to get store credit. And got more movies, 4. My only complaint today is it took over an hour get an offer on my stuff. Employee explained he had to deal with a truck of stuff. But he was really nice so I just dropped it.

Pretty cool place with a lot of treasures. A huge selection of great stuff. I wished we had more time to really check the place out. We were there for an hour and we didn’t even get a chance to look at everything. We got hung up on the great vinyl selection they had.

One of the coolest, most organized, thrift stores I have ever been to. Downfall, I won’t ever purchase anything because they have a rule that only 5 items PER person can be tried on PER day. Quite silly.

I actually haven't been in this store yet. I just come here to read the reviews because the owner's comebacks not only drip with sarcasm but are quite entertaining--I think the guy's a riot. I live in Oakhurst, but the next time I'm in the area, I'm gonna check this place out.

Love shopping here. Amazing selection of goods and great prices! Great place for vinyl record collectors and lovers of physical media. 5/5.
As per the customer service, 3/5. I do think at times it is a bit lacking. While I genuinely do think some of the employees are very kind, and I’ve never had much of a bad experience shopping here, especially when they used to only have the Rasputin location, I do think some of your employees could be a bit nicer, sometimes it makes shoppers feel like they’re an inconvenience for wanting to purchase something. The most recent “incident” was when I came in at 2/16/24 the minute they opened to browse and eventually purchase some shirts and cd’s but unfortunately the cashier I got seemed like they had a bad morning or were disinterested in helping me out as they seemed very unenthusiastic. It’s just not a very good look especially since I’ve been a regular at mad monk (Rasputin) and usually never have had an employee seem annoyed to help me out and it’s not necessarily the first time it’s happened.
I’d also like to add that the other bad reviews aren’t all justified. As I said before this place has amazing stuff, I could spend hours browsing. I’d also agree with the owners response to most of these reviews, as some of them are justified responses to non constructive reviews. I plan to continue shopping here for the foreseeable future, it’s one of, if not THE best record, cd, and thrift shop we have in Fresno, I just think a few employees need to be a bit more enthusiastic at times.
