The staff is so kind and welcoming. When you enter the building, you are instantly greeted with smiles. They walked us through the dogs and gave us plenty of knowledge about every one we were interested in. We went for one particular dog, however she was unavailable due to her health. We were still able to meet her, which still made my heart happy. Overall, it was a great experience. One little pup grabbed our heart, so we will definitely be back.

Do not come here! for being a “humane” society they aren’t very humane themselves. A stray broke into my yard several times and injured one of my cats so I brought it here to surrender and they told me to release it somewhere on the side of the street! The receptionist is a real piece of work. This place is a joke along with everyone who works there claiming to be helping animals.

Beautiful work they do there but the personnel… man… the attitude they give you makes you feel bad about just trying to do the right thing with an animal. It’s understandable that they’re backed up on space but to mistreat and give attitude is unprofessional and unacceptable. So if you’re trying to do the right thing and surrender an animal you wish to have a better home go somewhere else unless you want to be berated by questions in a rude manner.

Did not have a good experience with this facility at all and the woman employee in the silver 4Runner is RUDE. My family drove three hours to get there from the coast so we could look at their large amount of dogs. They had some adorable dogs and the person who helped us was extremely nice and friendly. I found a dog I liked and went up to the cage to let the dog sniff the back of my hand (about six inches away from the cage) and this blonde girl comes out of nowhere and yells at me to keep my hands out of the cages! My fingers, and hands, were not in the cages and the young dog showed no signs of aggression, happily wagging its tail. We ended up going to other shelters to look around (which were much more relaxed), but really had our hearts set on the dog they had. So fast forward to today, two days later, we make the three hour drive back over to adopt the dog. They recommended we bring our other dog with us so the two of them can meet and interact with each other, which we did. We quickly went in to check-in with the front staff, left our car on with the AC running, and this lady (the silver 4Runner) follows right behind us yelling about a dog left in a car. We told her our dog is fine and has AC/water and she starts yelling at us about how cruel we are and that the A/C isn’t running (how would she know?!). She disappears into the back employee area and we can still hear her yelling about us. We could also hear her belittling the employees and talking down to everyone—overall, EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude behavior. Come to find, we can’t adopt the dog because of some mystery virus going around today. Couldn’t touch the dog, couldn’t interact with the dog, couldn’t even put a hold on the dog even though we were ready to adopt. Six hour drive completely wasted, only to be belittled by some crazy ego-maniac. As much as we liked the dog, we just did not have good experiences with this place and unfortunately will not be back.

I have a dog that I adopted from this shelter and she is great. My only problem is being able to get ahold of anyone at this place. I call and a machine answers, I text and don’t get a reply until the next day, I email and don’t get a response. I have applied to volunteer and have received no response. I am not happy

I saw a beautiful dog on Petfinder one day just looking. Not really with any intentions of adopting but after seeing him and reading him profile I could just not stop thinking about him. A month goes by and I finally tell my wife and kids, we're going to go see a rescue dog. Unfortunately we arrived only to be told the dog had just left 20 minutes prior to a foster home. The FHAS did everything they could to call him back to no avail but we scheduled a meet and greet for a following weekend. Fell in love with him and FHAS was efficient and thorough in the adoption process, made it so easy and stress free. We are now proud owners of Paxton, a 2 year old German shepherd!!

This place is horrible and they don’t have any compassion for animals. Took a stray dog their and they have signs in front entrance saying you can’t enter to call. They come out and determine if the dog is sick or not if it’s not they will tell you they cannot take no dogs that they are at full capacity. So then I tell her what can I do or where am I suppose to take her. She replies just leave her anywhere or take her back where you found her. I told her the dog has fleas and ticks and one leg injured but she just shrugged like saying not my problem. She said sorry can’t do anything. She was rude and didn’t care at all about the dogs well being. How can people like that work with animals.

Experiencing some difficulty that they have been making not only life for humans but even life for animals they give time to heal what life is an I was lost I make clear an move forward with making things right Im missing what I need in life so there was this story about a young man that gave an felt like he thought he was just going to give up on his self notice absolutely it was not that he wasn't self care about himself but never thought he could be able to take care of a dog which it was to be a dog is a man's best friend he lost time to healing in myself but I seen truth in you Spot i was lost in my mind an you showed me guidance I never known much about can't wait to see him he was the one that made me strive to an made me see self reflection about himself for he was giving me space for I could make improvements in myself ? ?Amen working to improve my story in good context

Very clean and tidy, I like this place very much. There are two kittens here today, they are super cute. I will come again until I meet the kitten I want to adopt.

On Tuesday Feb 13 I went to this location and found a forever dog for my daughter. I told the people working I would like to adopt the dog. They told me good luck all the cute puppies go to rescues in the bay area! At which point I was told to speak with the office manager Maria. Both Kim and her talked had me fill out the fostering interested party app and they needed to keep the dogs for a min 72 hour observation period. I was then told to come back on Friday came back and the puppy was gone. Sold to a rescue in the bay area. I asked where it went and was told to leave! These people are ignorant and make up lies. When they are caught I them they try to make up more lies and tell you to leave.

They were very helpful in helping me get a great Pyrenees dog back home after I found it in the middle of the street near my house. A big thank you!

Horrible organization! Did not want me to adopt a large breed dog because she was "sweet" & felt the dog would not benefit "living outdoors" even though I have an extremely large almost park sized lot with adequate shelter & secure fencing. It's ridiculous to see all the sad posts on social media saying they don't have anyone to adopt & that loving animals are being put down because no one wants them. I was ready to adopt and would be a great pet parent. Guess they would rather have a 60lb dog cooped up in a crate all day living in an apartment or have it continue to live at the shleter only getting a 20 min break to run.* I inquired about waiting the 2 weeks to adopt this particular dog & was told that was not an option.
