Melody is THE BEST for your dogs training. She has so much insight and experience in where your dog is coming from! My Golden needs "firm consistency " in his continued training. He's still a teenager at 2, but worth it all. You will appreciate all you learn!

Great facility and faculty! Been coming here for years for obedience and scent courses. Your dog(s) will only be as good as how much effort, time and training you put into them. I always recommend them to anyone who is serious in wanting to take dog training courses.Knocked down one star because they used to be really good with returning calls, but I’m not sure what’s happened. If you want to contact them go to their websites and contact the trainers directly for courses.

I tried multiple times to enroll in the basic obedience class and my messages were not returned. I guess they don't need my money.

Such a great experience in the Beginner 1 class with Samantha! My dog Artie new basic commands coming into the class at home, but his puppy attention would be pulled the moment there was any distractions.

We just finished our first beginner 1 course with Samantha. She has been amazing! My pup showed up scared and timid first couple classes and by the 3rd he was pulling me in so excited for class. We have learned so much and both my dog and myself got a huge confidence boost! Thank you, Sam! We're looking forward to more fun classes.

Melody has experience no doubt. But she is definitely old school. Constantly referring to dogs as "he/him" (I have a female) and her bias shows with smaller dogs or cattle dogs, favoring them over the bigger, and often better behaved, dogs. I didn't feel she embraced my dog in the same way she did other dogs and I got to observe this in more than one class. Used the phrase "scary looking" when referring to my dog who actually gets told how beautiful she is by strangers everywhere! My dog was often bored in class so I would say her class flow could use improvement. I experienced many classes going over the allotted time, but she did seem to correct that. I would recommend her for dogs that are less than 40 lbs. I don't know about the other trainers there. But I can tell you that the very first trainers (from a different company)my dog had at the house were wonderful! I just wanted her to have more interaction with other dogs. But I may return to private training because my dog is smart and needs more stimulation. And Melody seems too interested in hyper-active cattle dogs to actually use one of the smartest and well-behaved dogs in the group. Also, it's a shame she doesn't create more of a sense of community in the class. It would be a simple gesture of having each per parent stand up and say their name & their dog's name. That way we don't have to feel like we're in a room of strangers.

Our family has brought several of our dogs to Melody Dagg's Dog Training over the last 10 years and we feel this is the best facility in Fresno. This review is specifically for the trainer Sam at Melody Dagg's Dog Training. I adopted my puppy Mabel (husky/shepherd) at around 8 weeks old from Fresno SPCA in April of 2020 (the height of Covid). My parents live in Fresno and I live in San Diego. I really needed help with some of the typical puppy issues (this was my first shepherd mix and they can be a handful) we were having and could not find an in-person trainer or anyone remotely reasonable in Southern CA. For that reason, I decided to return to Fresno to attend the 4-week puppy program with Sam. Sam exceeded my expectations in what guidance she provided, was a great communicator, and even brough humor to the experience. I also felt extremely safe with all the Covid precautions she took (small class size, face masks worn, etc.) As Mabel grew older, I wanted to put her in a training class but came across the same issue with everyone being extremely overpriced or only offering virtual classes in Southern CA. I contacted Sam and she provided 7 days of board and train for Mabel. She was able to solve Mabel's issues with pulling, made significant improvements in recall, etc. When we picked Mabel up, she even gave us an hour-long lesson in how to continue Mabel's training. She provided the tools we needed to really make efficient strides with Mabel. We will continue to see Sam for private sessions monthly to reinforce what we have learned and hopefully learn even more. I cannot recommend Sam and/or this facility more. Sam also attends dog training seminars and stays up to speed on dog training methods. Melody Dagg's Dog Training is truly the best and who you want to take your dog to if you want quality training at a reasonable price with true experts.

The only place I'll take my dog for training. Great staff and an approach that is absolutely positive. Excellent training in a variety of offerings. And I've met some incredible people and their dogs. Good socialization for humans and their dogs. My dog LOVES going, learning, interacting and the socialization he gets, too. I fully recommend Melody Daggs Training.

Great facility and Sam is amazing! She is thorough but keeps it super basic. She has helped us to be able to speak our puppy's language and shown us that consistency is key. We have a lot of work ahead of us but I would recommend this facility again and again! The prices are beyond reasonable and honestly, pretty cost efficient for the knowledge, direction and time you recieve.

After slow responses and unanswered phone calls for weeks it was finally decided that my dog has severe anxiety and they can't help her despite not seeing my dog in real life or on screen. Their website says they deal with dogs that have anxiety and separation anxiety so I don't understand the issue. They need to change it to say they do obedience training only. The only upsides were a) they didn't take my money and b) they did offer a referral to a vet behavioralist. Unfortunately that behavioralist is near San Francisco
