By far the most kind and affordable veterinary clinic I have yet to find in Fresno. My mom recently had 3 German shepherd puppies with Parvo, two unfortunately died not because of the clinic, but because they got treatment too late, but one is currently still fighting. The doctor has been very kind to my family and helping us through this very hard time, emotionally and financially. Thank you doctor and all staff for being so great. We need more like you. God bless you all!

****DO NOT COME HERE **** I have stuck with you guys for years now hoping your customer services gets better and it has not. One you will be place on hold for ever always when you call. Two you will sit in the lobby pass your appointment time always and get to watch the front desk girls gossip about other customers how dirty they leave the bathroom and let your phones ring( Hispanic girl that's been pregnant for like two years now I'm talking about you ). Three you never have appointments available till months out forcing you to pay an emergency fee to be seen sooner every single time. Now I called to ask to bring my dog in as an emergency and was told they don't offer emergency consults interesting because I've been up charged every single time I've came in as an "emergency" so how is that now again there no appointments available for a month you offer no solution you offer no consult because your only doctor is on vacation? So for a month what are your patients supposed to do? I don't understand how you can run a practice with no protocol in place for emergencies not even sympathy offered by your receptions I'm so disappointed in you guys be better do better.

My cat Ralphie was bleeding from his urinary track after having surgery a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the vet I went to was closed today. However, Dog & Cat was able to fit us in today even though their schedule was full. I brought Ralphie in and Doc saw him and treated him right away. Doctor was kind and compassionate. Gave us some meds to take home and the bill was very reasonable. Can't speak more highly of this place!

CaLi's annual vaccine update! She loved seeing her Dr. Akhtar today, especially since she didn't have to get on the silver exam table! Was not a fan of the weight scale though.... Dr. Akhtar said she was perfect weight anyways! Way to go CaLi !!!!!

Very thorough, very reasonable, explains your dog's condition in easy to understand terms. Well worth the trip across town, best vet in town as far as I am concerned

This was a great place that always put the wellbeing of your animal over how much money they could squeeze out of you. I believe the founder retired and left the practice to his son and it's not that way anymore. Question everything.

The doctor explained the condition my dog had and told me what to do about it and prescribed two medications which resolved the issue.

Whoever is in charge of answering their phone calls left a bad impression. I called last week to make an appointment, they left me on hold for about 8-10 mins. The lady sounded like she was having a rough day. Then today, I called them again because I had a few questions before my furbaby's upcoming appointment, whoever picked up the phone just hung up without saying anything. It is what it is. I'll go elsewhere.

We've had a few dogs over the years and have taken them to some of the larger or more popular vets in the area, but found ourselves having to fit into their crazy busy schedules and put up with their pushy treatment recommendations. With our new puppy, happened upon this vet here on Yelp and felt the reviews were great, so I called the office. They said they don't do appointments for vaccinations, but that we can just walk in when we needed them. I was planning on coming in last week to get our puppy's second round. Unfortunately, he had diarrhea and was acting very odd, so I brought him in right at 8am on Tuesday and Dr. Nadeem greeted us at the front. The puppy vomited in his crate right as I was explaining everything and Dr. Nadeem brought us right back. He explained that it may be parvo, but the test was $62 and he didn't want to rush into charging us for a bunch of things out of the gate. I passed on the test since we could test later in the week if his symptoms didn't improve. And he gave the puppy a shot of Cerenia to help with the nausea, as well as a Sucralfate pill to help ease his stomach. My wife and I left the puppy with our kids as we went out of town that night and his symptoms worsened while we were gone. I brought him back on Thursday and Dr. Nadeem suggested the parvo test, which tested positive immediately. He gave him fluids and another Cerenia shot and Sucralfate pill as well as an antibiotic. He sent us home with Cerenia, Sucralfate and Clavamox (antibiotic) and said to bring him back in the morning for more fluids. We did this every morning and Dr. Nadeem was so kind and gracious, encouraging me that we just need to stay on the care at home and that the puppy should make it. We're on day 7 now and it seems as though he's turned for the better and all his symptoms are improving, especially his energy and mental focus. Dr. Nadeem is a saint and we're so blessed to have found him as I don't know that there are many vets that will treat parvo in an outpatient capacity. And definitely not as affordably as they severely undercharged us throughout the entire process. They've won a client for life with this treatment!!

I just want to let everyone know how wonderful the Dog & Cat Veterinary Clinic is. I had an urgent need late yesterday afternoon and rushed in just moments before their closing time of 5:00 pm. They treated me with the best and most caring attention as I needed to have my dog euthanized. Nadeem was tender and kind while handling me and my dog. It is such a blessing when people are compassionate and kind when you are in a very bad situation. The whole staff is amazing there. And you can't beat their costs anywhere in town.
