We used their service to move from California to Bangalore. Our shipment kept on delaying and we had to buy many things in India that were already coming in the shipment. Eventually I had to find a contact to get custom clearance because our shipment was just sitting at the Chennai port. To my surprise my contact who is a custom officer said that no paperwork was filled at all otherwise it only takes 1 day for them to approve and clear the shipment. I communicated urgency to UR several times but in vain. There were bills after bills and the total amount almost doubled of what was initially quoted to us because insurance, port charges and tips were all on top.I could bear with the cost if my shipment would have reached me in good condition. So many items were broken and were of no use including kitchen items, printer, brand new speakers worth $1800 that were shipped in originally packaging. TV screen had a scratch. When claimed insurance we were very conveniently told that anything packed by customer is not covered under insurance. Wasted a couple of hundred dollars on insurance as well. Not recommended at all.

Lost my Grinder. Shipped with LCL about 500CFT of goods on June 21, 2021 from Hyderabad to San Francisco. They took about 7 months to deliver to San Francisco. They shipped my items with another customer and in the process delivered my Grinder to the other customer. I asked them to give the contact phone number of other customer so I can check with them but they don't want to.I bought insurance coverage they rejected the claim saying it does not cover.Don't ship with them.

They did a great job in every way. Low cost, amazing packing, and shipping time was very reasonable. If the packing had been even a little off, our furniture would have been ruined since the boxes ended up getting soaked after getting shipped to our house in India. Overall, very thankful for having found a service like Universal Relocations. You really can’t go wrong with them.-Veena

I used this service to ship boxes from California to India. No doubt they were responsive to my follow ups on the shipment. Their commitment to deliver the boxes in a stipulated time of few weeks ended up being 6 months. Considering COVID, a few weeks or even a month off from the expected arrival of the shipment was acceptable. However, the shipment arrived after 6 months after leaving my home. I will never be using their service.

Bad customer service at the Fremont location. A person named Ashwin is very rude and very unprofessional. I would never want to contact this business or specifically @Ashwin at the Fremont location. Update: Soon after this review was posted, I got a call from the Madhusudhan who is the director of sales to clarify the process and apologize on behalf of his team. He was very professional and had a calm demeanor through out our conversation. He explained the process in details and provided the right customer service. Though I am not using them for any services for now, But hope to work with Madhusudhan in future! I am giving them a 4 star for rectifying their attitude,

universal relocation international shipping company owned by south indian business man . have several branch's in usa , india & other country. i was happy with their service 1st time , even with some mistakes & lost of item & damages of my expensive recliner sofa. due to my busy schedule l did not bother to file claim . this was my first experience in shipment to india .but worst experience when we shipped one box from bay area california of some more item we purchased . (read what they did it ) 1 as requested we took our stuff in open large box . manager told us you can take up to 50 kg ask us to get more item we brought more item . 2 manager change our box took large box then he attached another box on top of box make it extra extra large size of word rob hanging box. packed it taped it & scaled it. 3 box arrived to india after 20 ( twenty) weeks. 4 small box came with 35 kg instead of 49 kg , 5 our expensive item were stolen . 6 yes our mistake to follow suggestions of universal manager " sir you don't need insurance for this items .we failed to figure out his ugly intentions. 7 several email to company officials but only reply with excuses and bs . in short before you select this universal relocation think lot more. if you have signed contract try cancel if not make sure keep all records , pictures of all items & boxes. other wise you will be sorry end up losing your valuable. any questions email

Have been using this service for over three years my boxes always arrive safely to me when I’m in India . I ship them from Fremont location and receive them in India if I’m not personally in India one of my family memebers receive . But please note you will have to pay some sort of port charge to an account in India which I haven’t been able to do in the USA . The fee is small I haven’t ever paid over 500 rupees.

They are an unethical company, I haven't been in business for 20 years, all the reviews are written by the employees. They are a group of Indian guys living in India, that have some friends in different states with a truck. They do cheap moves and they do a very bad job

Excellent, Reliable, Affordable, open to feedback & improvement. My overall experience was Excellent with Universal Relocations. This review has been long due from my side! In June 2018 I got 13 boxes/suitcases shipped from Burlingame, California, USA to Gurugram, India (Delhi NCR National Capital Region). Everything completed (including final delivery to the destination building's 3rd level) within the estimated 3 months (Sep 2018). Absolutely grateful to Mr. Madhu Sudhan (sales) who went above and beyond with Outstanding support and service. Mr. Leon Jeffries, Mr. J. Saravanan, everyone was extremely helpful - thank you. Throughout the process, they provided timely, regular email updates. They were open to feedback and resolved my concerns. Universal Relocations has given me the confidence that personal (non-commercial) international shipping can be both Reliable and Affordable. My feedback for improvement was that - When it is time-sensitive or critical for the customer to take action (such as providing additional documents for customs clearance, etc.) - then please also make Phone calls in addition to email communication. Keep up rest of the amazing work. We need international services like yours! Note about Customs Clearance: My shipment arrived at the Chennai Port (sea port in India). Chennai Customs would only release it upon seeing my Original Passport (this is standard practice). So I coordinated with Universal Relocations, and flew from Gurugram to Chennai to show my passport to Customs. The only other option I had was - to courier my original passport (via a company such as Blue Dart) to Universal Relocations' Chennai team - and they would have shown it to Customs for clearance. I did not feel confident putting my original passport in the Mail (also, at that time FedEx India did not accept passports for mailing, and don't know if they do now). So I chose to travel to Chennai. Thanks to Universal Relocations - the Customs appointment also went smoothly and I flew back to Gurugram the same day. My shipment arrived safely at my Gurugram location approximately 15 days later.

Had a great experience with three boxes from the Bay to rural India - point to point, low cost. It takes some time for sure but they are clear about that. The boxes were a bit beat up but everything inside was fine, would avoid fragile items. Would definitely use again. Thanks!
