My wife and I have gone to Neil for years. The business used to be named Bay Wide Tax Service (Neil came around in 2020). Marla, the woman who did our taxes, retired (her husband wanted her to because he had retired the previous year), and Neil took over the business. I would have given 4 stars during the first year (2021). I didn't speak up, and so I take some of the blame, but we lost some money because Neil assumed that some donations were given to a family member (technically speaking, the donations probably weren't eligible, but I was still bugged by the wrong assumption). In 2022, I played Street Fighter II: Champion Edition. I just did okay, and I felt bad when a box that was on top of the arcade game fell down. Neil just shrugged it off, though (the box was probably empty). The arcade games might only be on some of the time, but the ambiance is pretty cool (The Little Mermaid, the 2023 version, was on when we went here this year). The hours aren't as limited as they seem. Neil works on Saturdays to some extent. The location changed in 2023 (the building is old, but easy to get to, and the office is right next to the main flight of stairs). The parking lot is somewhat small, but a big improvement (finding parking at the old location was usually an ordeal). Because of inflation, "starting with the 2022 tax season, we will be implementing a 10-20% fee adjustment - depending on the complexity of your tax accounting." We were charged $260 this time, but the amount will be a lot less for many people (my mom was charged $180). An Audit Protection service was added for free at the time the prices went up. The receptionist is new, and she's cute and friendly. The restroom key is right by the door (the restrooms are on the first floor).
[email protected] It wasn't a big deal, and the receptionist may be to blame, but the email that I sent a month ago wasn't responded to. Neil bailed us out last year. At the time, we really needed our 2021 tax return, but we couldn't find it anywhere. When we contacted him, Neil sent the return as email attachments very quickly. Neil is easy to talk to ("good vibes," a term that another reviewer uses, is quite fitting), and an appointment will only take about 15 minutes if you're prepared (I was annoyed when a few people suddenly showed up this year, but at least one person probably arrived for an appointment early). My wife and I have been happy with the level of service over the years.

Very grateful to have come across Professional Tax Services. We worked with Neil last year (2022) and we were impressed by his speedy service. We have a business and a handful of other things and he provided a reasonable price and moved so quick! He also helped my mom with hers. Highly recommend Neil. I thought I was so behind this year in getting things submitted, but they moved within a short number of days. They respond quickly and are effective. I appreciate that he works with us in doing things remotely (having 2 kids, full time jobs and a business makes time super limited to go in and get things done). Thank you Pro Team!

Neil is great,always accommodating to our individual needs. Amendment to taxes, no problem, very reasonable and professional..just like the name. So glad I was able to get him for our family, no longer in the area but still make the trip to have Neil do our taxes..it's been 3 years now with nothing but good vibes!

Used to love having Neil do our taxes until this year. We moved out of state and it took him over one week to complete our taxes. It normal takes him an hour in the office but since I'm now out of state I guess that means you can take a week plus to complete my taxes. All good. What really bothers me is the amount he tells me I owe on CA was completely wrong and the refund from the IRS was over $7,000 off. That's a big mistake. His response was "I must have used a template when emailing you the amounts." This is the most unprofessional accountant I've come across and will not be trusting him to handle my taxes ever again. You've been warned, best of luck with this guy.

Great find as this is somewhat in my hood. My previous tax guy from the past few years for some reason, did not respond to my email or text at the start of this year's tax season. He eventually did after a week's time (annoying as hell), but I actively looked for an alternative within that time. Glad I did cuz my experience here with Neil was exactly what I look for in this service, fast and easy. And it is only a 5 minute drive from home, so extra bonus. My filings are not complicated at all. I even collect tax documents in a folder as they arrive, so as I turn things in, there are no questions or having to retrieve info/documents. I know it sounds like something I can do myself with today's programs, but I just prefer someone who does it professionally to take care of it, as there is just more piece of mind, and they are more versed on current rules/laws/deductions. Kinda like getting my oil changed or getting fried chicken, I just prefer to get it done for me, otherwise an unnecessary mess can end up on my end. Loved how they responded to my original email within a few hours. Loved how setting up an appointment was super easy and loved it even more when they honored said appointment. (Tax guys are notorious for being behind schedule). Once seated I handed over my folder, Neil did his thing super efficiently, showed me everything on his large screen monitor and boom I was signing and dating. I wasn't even in there for 20 minutes. And for a price that I felt was super fair, I received my refund through direct deposit within a week's time. I can't wait until next year's tax season...how many can say that?! Lol. I've got Neil and Professional Tax Services to thank for that.

Easiest person to work with. Any questions we had regarding tax, financial advise or any questions were answered via text, phone call or even message board through their secure website. The website made it so simple to send over any tax documents via PDF. Any messages sent were quickly answered. I will continue to use their service for years to come and would definitely recommend them.
