Car is currently in the shop, so needed a rental for a few days. Couldn't believe how the experience turned out.My reservation for a compact gas vehicle was scheduled for a 10:15am pick up. I was running a little behind so I called to let them know, and they said it was fine. I arrived and was informed that they had no more compact cars. The customer service person walked me outside and showed me a Malibu, a Mini Cooper and a Mustang and said that those were options - after which he explained to me that it would be an upgrade. I let him know that I wasn't looking for an upgrade I was looking for a compact car. The sales person shared he understood and went to talk to the manager. The manager informed me that, per Hertx policy, he could provide me a Volt electric car for the same price (although their electric cars about 30% cheaper than gas cars to reserve online). I explained to the manager that I wasn't interested in an electric car, that's why I reserved a gas vehicle. I explained to the manager that I didn't see that online - the ability for Hertz to change from gas to electric. I then shared that I booked in on Expedia, and the manager said, "Oh, that's why". He went on to say that that information isn't available through Expedia. When I followed up asking him how I was supposed to know he had no answers, just shrugged his shoulders.I've rented cars for years, and often experience the cars I've rented - compact, full size, etc. - are NOT available, and I've had to be upgraded to the next available car - but I never had to pay additional. I'm assuming it's because they know they messed up - as I had a reservation. I guess Hertz doesn't play by the same rules. I even mentioned to the manager that I was going to reach out to file a complaint, and again, he just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. Worst service ever.

Hertz in Fremont is the best place to get a rental car. Nice selection to choose from. The service desk assistant branch manager RAJ Kaur is very helpful and very experienced in making sure you drive away with your needs and requirements are satisfactory.

This review is for Aroma Han, the manager. Initially, we came up to Fremont on a road trip vacation with a Hertz vehicle we rented from our place of origin. We realized the condition of our rental car was abysmal both inside and out. We found a bag, half a plastic spoon and a ball of hair behind our seats from the previous renter. Outside, there were scratches on the side of the door and a windshield chip. This Hertz was the closest to our hotel and with a complete shot in the dark, we requested a vehicle change. Aroma took our request seriously and took a look at the damages both inside and out. He agreed that our vehicle did not meet Hertz's standards and made sure to get us a replacement. Aroma took care of us very well and stayed overtime to get us sorted out with a new vehicle that was both clean and comfortable to be in. Aroma even provided us some places to check out while we were in the Bay Area!

Although I am a Hertz Gold member, my experience renting a car from this branch was the most horrific experience I ever haveThis branch has the worst car conditions ever Hertz has! The cars are not clean, a lot of damage and scratches here and there but this was not the only problem!I rented a Sienna from this branch, and after I picked it up, I noticed that the car had a weird, abnormal noise and vibration, which was very annoying to drive a vehicle on a road trip that will give you a headache. Also, the driver seat has an abnormal issue with the seat base, which makes your bottom sore after a short time of driving. It's not a problem with the adjustment, but the seat is broken!I tried to call the branch, but they said they didn't have much to do since we are approaching the holidays and all cars are booked with the same options!I submitted my feedback to Hertz, and no one bothered to contact me!

Dont get any car from them they deduct money without asking you and never call you about my transaction they deduct 607 dollars from my account i m already pay them what i left

The car smelled very strong of chemical air freshener when I picked it up. I returned it just as clean as I received it and they wanted to charge me 300 bucks for a cleaning fee. I baulked. And they credited the cleaning fee. These companies are probably all the same but next time I'll try a competitor.

I had a bad experience coming through Tesla insurance. They had the reservation around 3 weeks in advance and when I showed up they refused to give me anything under the insurance limit. The reservation was for 30 days and for all cars I had to pay extra. As an extra pain, the representative (Aroma) was also reluctant to give me a ride back as well. The people felt very rude and didn’t offered any consolation or were not even apologetic. I will never pick this rental location again for my personal need. Folks here need to learn how to be nice and empathetic with their customers.

Aroma was amazing and truly made this the best rental experience I have ever had. Excellent assistance and I greatly appreciate how he went above and beyond to help me. Great place to do car rental business with. Wonderful customer service.

The person (male) who I was dealing with to rent a Tesla for Uber driving is not nice and very rude. I was interested in renting but his attitude was not acceptable so I walked out. His personal impression and service was not good and I couldn’t really talk to him.

The representative with the missing tooth in the front, I think his name is Aroma, is EXCEPTIONALLY RUDE and talks over customers, myself and others, each and every time I try to rent a vehicle from there. His curtness is so disturbing that each time I have to deal with his poor attitude, it usually ends with me walking out and going around the corner to rent vehicles from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Their customer service closes the deal, not the price. It cost more to rent from them but it’s worth it. I’d recommend Enterprise on Peralta if you want better customer service.Not to mention this Hertz location has an UNHEALTHY habit of trying to send out dirty cars, both on the exterior and interior.

Good to read the reviews so it wasn’t me as l thought it’s the management and the team which is rude l was thinking maybe something is wrong with me maybe l need a haircut but now l know why not everyone giving their reviews needs haircut so now l have booked my car at a different location and hope they are better in customer service l just don’t know how come these rude people last so long in these companies
