I just wanted to rent a car, but I ended up in what felt like a major performance. First, they told me that they only had an electric car available. Since I needed to drive a long distance, I requested a gasoline car. They pointed to a white SUV and said it would cost an additional $20. I agreed and asked if I could take a look at it, but they said that area was restricted and I couldn't go there. After waiting for 20 minutes, they handed me a red two-door Dodge, a model known for being a gas guzzler. I genuinely felt deceived.
I end up going back the next day to exchange to a different car.

They are super busy and super short staffed. The selection of cars is almost zero and you will have to wait 30+ mins every time you go in.
The staff is pretty nice.

The location is full of uber drivers. Why do you rent your car to Uber and make the regular customers wait longer? The stuff is turtle slow l, untrained and incompetent. Just terrible how business models like this could exist

The vehicles are in optimal condition and do not present any type of mechanical problem, they are very clean and well maintained, the reason for my low rating is due to administrative problems; I scheduled my vacation for the last weekend of May, (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) when entering the website in February/16, we observed that there was an "offer" so we decided to make the reservation and pay in full, so as not to miss the opportunity of the offer, but the system told us that we have to reserve until Monday, May 30, because on Sunday the offices are closed, so we paid the full amount for the rental of a mini van; When we went to pick up the vehicle, the person who assisted us told us that we had to pay $143.37 for an extra day, because the offices would be closed for the May/30 holiday and that there was no staff to receive it; which seemed unfair to us because we had already made a deal and paid for the days online and when making the reservation they had not explained this inconvenience to us, so we paid for two days for the vehicle to be parked in front of my house; so I make this known to prevent the same thing from happening to other clients.

BAD, BAD, BAD!!!! Terrible place, bad service, small waiting area, and too long of waiting time, no manager in charge. They left for lunch and kept people waiting . On average people wait 2-3 hours to get their rentals eventhough they have appointments.

Don't use a rental car from here for any toll roads, they will tell you that's fine and they'll just bill you for the tolls, but if you use that there is also a $40 "convenience fee" they somehow forget to mention.

Car is currently in the shop, so needed a rental for a few days. Couldn't believe how the experience turned out.My reservation for a compact gas vehicle was scheduled for a 10:15am pick up. I was running a little behind so I called to let them know, and they said it was fine. I arrived and was informed that they had no more compact cars. The customer service person walked me outside and showed me a Malibu, a Mini Cooper and a Mustang and said that those were options - after which he explained to me that it would be an upgrade. I let him know that I wasn't looking for an upgrade I was looking for a compact car. The sales person shared he understood and went to talk to the manager. The manager informed me that, per Hertx policy, he could provide me a Volt electric car for the same price (although their electric cars about 30% cheaper than gas cars to reserve online). I explained to the manager that I wasn't interested in an electric car, that's why I reserved a gas vehicle. I explained to the manager that I didn't see that online - the ability for Hertz to change from gas to electric. I then shared that I booked in on Expedia, and the manager said, "Oh, that's why". He went on to say that that information isn't available through Expedia. When I followed up asking him how I was supposed to know he had no answers, just shrugged his shoulders.I've rented cars for years, and often experience the cars I've rented - compact, full size, etc. - are NOT available, and I've had to be upgraded to the next available car - but I never had to pay additional. I'm assuming it's because they know they messed up - as I had a reservation. I guess Hertz doesn't play by the same rules. I even mentioned to the manager that I was going to reach out to file a complaint, and again, he just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. Worst service ever.

Hertz in Fremont is the best place to get a rental car. Nice selection to choose from. The service desk assistant branch manager RAJ Kaur is very helpful and very experienced in making sure you drive away with your needs and requirements are satisfactory.
