Fremont United Auto Service were the mechanics that many Chinese families passed amongst each other. It was like a well kept secret. Every one I know used them. In the last few years, the shop has been poorly managed: 1.) Poor concierge- difficult to book appointments 2.) Price Gouge- oil change prices have gone up tremendously. Alex blames recession3.) Closed on weekends now 4.) Sloppy service- I went to get my car smogged and was told whoever that changed my oil spilled it all over the engine cover. I had to go home and wash the engine cover. Fremont United Auto Service used to be an honest business for Chinese families who spoke little English and who knew little aboutcars. I feel like now they have taken advantage of the community by spiking prices, cutting their business hours and doing a sloppy job.

I have been coming to this place almost 20 years. Unfortunately, service has gone from bad to worse over the years. When Alex was managing the operation, he was personable and responsive. I dont know if Alex is still taking care of matters, but now its the pits. A couple days ago i called them to ask how much would it cost to do a B level service on my civic. The female on the phone hung up on me. Thinking it may be a mistake, I called again. She was rude enough to hang up on me again before i could finish my sentence. I text Alex to let him know what happened. No response. Bottomline. If you want service. Forget it. If you want price, they aint cheap either. To be rude enough to hang up 2 consecutive times on anyone is BS. For a long time returning customer is totally unacceptable in my books. Why would anyone want to try to pay to get abused? FORGET THIS PLACE. Do biz with people who want your biz and understand basic decency. They dont deserve your biz.

It is a family owned and run business which started out being great for me and my car. The mechanic Alex is especially good, and really watches out for the best interest of the customer, and explains things thoroughly. However, I will no longer be patronizing this business, as the front desk girl has referred to me as a slut and a****** (neither apply), and her dad has also referred to me as a slut and sometimes appears to talk and laugh in Chinese about me - both have done this in front of me. While I had hoped it would be different than your typical shop, the behavior of some of the employees is offensive and I am leaving them due to the disrespect.

I recently bought a secondhand car with a lot of miles on it, and I was really worried about if it had any issues that I hadn't seen. After a few months of driving it, the dash started producing strange noises, and I started to feel anxious and frightened. When I took my car to Fremont United Auto Service for the first time for normal maintenance, they were very kind and knowledgable about what my car required. They quickly and expertly completed the maintenance task and informed me that there was nothing wrong with my automobile. My worries were immediately allayed by this, and I now feel comfortable entrusting them with all of my car's needs.

I brought my car here for a major tuneup last year May, 2021 and was charged almost $2k. Last Saturday, my engine light and cruise control started flashing. I brought it to my shop near my area. Turns out the spark plugs needed to be replaced and I was told that the spark plugs were old. I went home to look at the receipt from Fremont United Auto Service and I was charged for removal & replacement of spark plugs for $127. Work was never done. I don't use my car often so it's not from the wear and tear. My mileage when I brought it to this shop was: 86k., now it's 89k. Spark plugs do not get old 3k, a year later. Makes me wonder what other work was charged to me and never done. I'm so disappointed. I have been going to this shop when I lived in Fremont, my sister still goes to this shop and I have trusted Alex all this time. It just makes me sad and angry!Service: Auto maintenance
