If I could have left less than one star I would. The owner, Mr. Beale, is a volatile person. I suspected he was due to many comments from people in the community but nonetheless I like giving business to locals and so decided to purchase chicken feed from them. The bag I purchased this past Sunday had been stored incorrectly and I found chunks of feed in the bag that had previously been wet and dried hard. Some of the larger chunks (palm size) had dry mold on them and I'm not accepting molded food. The owner said (over the phone while I was in the store) that he or his wife needed to be present to make a decision whether to exchange the product or give a refund and only after contacting his supplier and verifying he would receive a refund from them would he give me a refund or exchange. Um, that's not how business works. In the real world, you give the customer a new bag of feed and then take it up with the supplier later if you think the issue lies with them. While he berated me on the phone I indicated I wished my husband was there and maybe he could reason with him but that comment sent him over the edge. I've never been yelled at by the owner of a business while trying to make a return, this is a first in my 60 years on earth. It's sad to know that everything I had heard from members of the community was true. While he was still yelling at me, I walked out and left the product sitting on the floor. I'm not happy but I really feel sorry for the young man that works there and has to deal with "Mr. Beale" as he called him that several times during his heated phone berating. I'm out $50+ dollars and have no way to get a refund. On another note; Mr. Beale and his wife don't recognize people that have been in their store multiply times and have had conversations with them in public more than a few times. Smh.

My experience trying to exchange product that had been exposed to moisture at some point was not pleasant at all. I purchase chicken feed here because I like to support local businesses even if their prices are higher than other supplies (whether local or online). The bag I purchased recently had large hard chunks of chicken food that had been wet and some had dried mold on them. I didn't want to feed this to my chickens and so I attempted to return or exchange the product and was told by the owner, via phone in his place of business, that the only way they could honor my request was to be there in person and then to contact the supplier to make sure they were going to get a refund first before they issued one to me. He asked me to buy another bag in the meantime and come back later or another day to get my refund. It's $50 a bag and I didn't have that and so I said I would have to drive to Bakersfield because I have to feed my chickens (now). The owner was very agitated and so I said I wished my husband was there, that maybe he would have better luck reasoning with him and that really made him angry! I decided to just walk out while he was yelling and left the damaged product there. I lived and I learned. Maybe I should have heeded the warnings of others who had disappointing experiences but I try to form my own opinions from my own experiences.

The Beale Family has a well stocked feed & livestock store. They are reasonably priced given their stock is probably not local but freighted in. I purchased a horse fly guard from Chewy & today realized had I bought from Beale I would have saved $7 for like item. They try to be as helpful as they can with their local customers. Going beyond what other stores do to help. They do an excellent service for the mountain.

The customer service is amazing . I love the prices . Everyone there was super friendly. Definitely recommend it . Im for sure coming back here . Come here if you want quality, honesty and amazing customer service. Beale feed can have my business.

Never again will I spend money at your store. If you are open until 6pm, then sell hay 6pm!!! I called at 10 minutes to 5pm and the hay was covered! This happens over and over again! Pure laziness! This message is spreading and spreading quick!

This company will have our business forever. They are able to deliver hay when we need it, and they offer the option to unload it. Which is a huge help since I have a spine injury & my parents are old. They also ALWAYS have the products I need.But above all this, one of my horses had a bad fall & I was home alone dealing with my injured horse. I couldn’t get a single vet to come out to Frazier, but the owner of Beale came to my ranch, helped comfort my horse in his last hours, helped keep me calm, and was able to find a vet to finally come help. (I called 10! From Bakersfield to Santa Barbara and nobody was available). Him & Olivia stayed with me for 4 hours!They have no association to us besides they sell us hay every few months & I will forever remember his kindness & support during a traumatizing & heartbreaking experience. Thank you so much. This is the kind of business owner you want in your community. Someone who will be there for you even when they don’t owe you anything.

My dogs and I would walk past across the street from this store nearly every day. One day the owner came out and gave them some treats. Since then the dogs make sure we cross the street on their walks so they can get their snacks and extra love from the entire family that works there.
