My child was bitten by a dog. Come here and clean the wound. They asked me if I had any questions. When I asked, they said this was an emergency room with no time to explain. There are many patients to take care of
squirrel . It was heartbreaking and a mistake to come here

My boyfriend and I are first time parents, I’m currently 9 months pregnant and last week I had came into the hospital because I was experiencing cramping, and after telling the security guard I would like to check in the labor and delivery unit, He proceeded to tell me “go right” and didn’t say anything else. My boyfriend and I, waited on the right side of the lobby, assuming we’d be called into one of the numbered doors, after 10 minutes of waiting, I walked back over to the security guard to ask for further information about checking in the labor and delivery unit, and he proceeded to raise his voice and give me attitude, mind you I’m pregnant and was in a lot of discomfort! He proceeded to yell at me “which door did you go into?! 1,2, or 3?!” I was taken a back because never did he specify this when we first checked in with him at the front, he was very dismissive! The audacity for him to get mad at me because he wasn’t being specific with directions like he should’be been first time around was outrageous. Very rude, dismissive and unprofessional security guard! He should not be treating patients in such a manner especially a pregnant woman! Definitely unfit for the job!

I came here this morning to give birth (still in labor as I'm writing this). Allen Dang the OBGYN assigned to me was absolutely rude and unprofessional and has made what was suppose to be a happy time, a sad one. I've been in labor since 1:30 am. My little guy is being stubborn and I was pushing for almost an hour. When he came in he sat looking annoyed playing with the umbilical clamp before he got up and angrily threw the scrubs and gloves he was wearing on the floor and complaining how he has other patients too see. About 5 minutes later he came back in and said "is she going to give birth anytime soon?" Again complaining about the other patients he has to see. At which point I started crying because his behavior and attitude with me from the start has been nothing but rude and unprofessional. I have been here since 130am and was pushing for an hour and getting exhausted with no result. Not only was his behavior absolutely disgusting with me, he was rude and mean to the staff.
I want to give a shout out to Porshay ( I hope that's how you spell it) and Que Lan specifically who have have so kind and sweet and doing everything they can to make me comfortable and my stay comfortable despite how rude Allen Dang was being toward me. We did fire Dr. Dang I refuse to have him touch my newborn and we received a new OBGYN who is much better but I have been disappointed with my labor and delivery at this hospital

DO NOT BOTHER COMING HERE. Every time I've taken my parents here for emergencies, the care has been neglectful and inadequate. The staff rarely listens to concerns and often fails to follow up. There were no basic essentials offered! Having to ask for a blanket while staffs wrapped themselves in blankets was both very embarrassing and inhumane of them. I ended up giving my own socks to my mom because it was extremely cold and the AC was running the whole entire time of the visit. It's frustrating to feel ignored and undervalued as a patient and family member. If you care about receiving proper care and attention, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. This hospital has serious issues with patient interaction and responsiveness. They suck!

Avoid avoid avoid!!!
Pros - easy to find, plenty of parking - free of charge, security is nice, respectful and always on their duty
Pediatric department nurses are super nice, skilful and attentive. The best, and kindest nurses you could find.
Dr. Nguyen from the pediatric department is also an amazing, caring doctor.
Unfortunately, the rest of the hospital is a mess
Even though they are UCI now if you call UCI Health in Irvine or Orange they don’t have your records from Fountain valley. Makes no sense!!!
My daughter’s surgeon dr Vu Dinh Do was absolutely careless. Didn’t even bother to see her when she ended up at the ER/hospital second time after HIS surgery! He was also super rude when she tried to ask questions and yelled at nurses so loud that they had to contact other surgeons for help.
Dr Setlur acts like the hospital is a hotel and all she is worried about is to kick you out ASAP. She let my daughter go home, and didn’t even bother to check her blood to see if it improved; my daughter had to return because, as it turns out, she still had an infection, which could’ve been seen on her BLOOD work this whole time. All she is worried about is how to get you out of there.
After discharge they gave my daughter referral to see a specialist, and this specialist doesn’t take patients of her age…
Called back two times to get referral to a different doctor and speak to the case manager Sara Lenon- Monday - left vm, no reply, of course, Tuesday Wednesday-vm is full?! This person don’t even check her WORK voice mail?
Today was given different case manager-Reblen - this line is always busy?! Is this a joke?
I understand that a lot depends on your insurance but rudeness, carelessness of the doctors and case managers ability DOES NOT!!!

I had high hopes for this hospital due to UCI taking over but it is one of the worst hospital especially ICU staff. The staff is very rude, have no compassion towards family.

I am appalled by the care and treatment I received at this hospital. Never in my life have I felt so neglected and disrespected by people who are supposed to provide help in times of need.
I was brought in after passing out at a concert due to severe dehydration, heart palpitations, and symptoms of a severe panic attack. I arrived with blood on my hands, vomit on my clothes, and was fading in and out of consciousness. Despite my condition, the staff treated me with shocking rudeness and disregard. One doctor even raised his voice at me for not being able to answer a question properly due to my state.
Not only was I medically neglected, but I also experienced blatant discrimination. The staff seemed to automatically assume I was a hard drug user simply because of my alternative appearance, and their behavior was homophobic, discriminatory, and full of prejudice rather than focusing on the actual reason I was there. I felt judged for how I looked rather than cared for as a patient in need. Based on other reviews, this hospital has other history of various forms of discrimination such as racism.
The hospital only performed an EKG, blood draw, and chest X-ray before sending me home without offering IV fluids, water, or even assistance in cleaning myself up. I left the hospital with blood still on my hands.
The front desk staff was equally disrespectful. When I inquired about my ID, the receptionist asked why I was even there and, after learning I had come from a concert, responded with, “Ugh, you're one of those concert people.” This level of discrimination and prejudice is completely unacceptable.
And the cherry on top, they never returned my ID. I went back the next morning, and they told me they were unable to find it, even though I’m certain I never got it back.
The only positive aspect of my experience was the security staff at the ER entrance. They were kind and helpful, unlike the medical and administrative personnel.
I came to this hospital expecting care and compassion in a moment of vulnerability. Instead, I was treated with cruelty, neglect, and open prejudice simply because of how I looked. All I wanted and needed in that moment was to know I was okay and taken care of. I did not feel that way nor receive the care in order to feel that way.
If you’re coming from the Observatory, don’t.

Not a big fan. Inconsistent doctor in the ER this day.. Doesn't listen to the patient. I left the er in protest without treatment. No one tried to resolve issue. They let me leave.
I only go in to the emergency room when I have a gout attack. They can be extremely painful and severe. I don't go to the emergency room for every single gout attack only the really bad ones. The Dr was trying not to prescribe hydrocodone. The reason i was there was to be treated for severe pain? I think the Dr was dismissive of my symptoms. He was not listening to me. I went to the er with extreme pain with verifiable symptoms. It felt like my ankle was broken. I was brought in with a wheelchair. The Dr needs to be way more sympathetic to someone coming in with severe gout pain. I had seen this same Dr before a year ago and he gave me a hard time about requiring treatment for pain. I was so upset after visiting the er at UCI fountain valley. I was suffering for 3 days prior to my visit. My call to David has gone unanswered so far. I wouldn't want to make that call either.
