Despite all of the negative reviews that a lot of in-person banking tends to get these days (I believe that people are impatient and don't like standing in line), I am here to say that I have always received stellar service at Wells Fargo, and namely, this branch. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly people. The tellers are all efficient and polite and professional. I never have to wait long in line, as they consistently have ample staffing. When problems arise, the manager(s) are always close at hand and eager to help out. This branch is convenient (lots of parking, central location, easy to get to, good accessible hours), clean, bright, and has a good layout that promotes quick service. I really hope that in-person banking never goes away, because, for some of us, interaction with a live, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable human being is priceless. There are simply services and questions that cannot be dealt with over the phone or online. Please save in-person banking! And Wells Fargo is great. This branch is particularly the best out of all the local ones (Hillsdale, downtown San Mateo, Belmont, downtown Burlingame, Broadway, etc). Foster City Wells Fargo branch is my go-to place for great service with a smile, and help with all of my banking needs & questions. I come here every week and the staff here feel like family/friends. They really deserve the recognition for all their hard, professional work!

The worst service. To include wait times, getting a simple inquiry addressed..., which is reflected in their "WF" sign and the 6 executives it took to address a simple issue. Haha, if ever a photo is worth 1k words! Bank elsewhere....

Been their customer before they moved across from the street. use to be such a vibrant and caring bank. Such a poor customer service now and they are managing the whole branch with 2 tellers and a business guy who is just not upto the mark dealing with customer in waiting for 4mins saying bank is about the close at 12. Where the manager and why this branch is so poorly staffed?. If they have cost cutting measure, just don't open on Saturdays. I am sure these guys are going to loose all these long time customers soon. WF mgmt, wake up!!!! Either staff properly or close the branch. You have Lot of dissatisfied customers now in this key branch.

Terrible bank. Never any service and always long lines waiting for tellers. Came in today (Saturday) waited almost 30 minutes for less than a 5 minute transaction. They can no longer state Covid for lack of staffing and service...find another excuse for treating your customers poorly. Get some help and stop making everyone waste their time since you obviously can't manage this location.

I have been a customer since 2002 and Teddy is my favorite person to see there! She is the best and I always appreciate her customer service and friendly face :) May 2021, I am at home teleworking when I receive a call from "PG&E" and they presume to tell me that I have 2 months of non payment and if I don't pay now, they would turn off my electricity. OMG panic is my first thought as I am working from home and can't have that so I pay via zelle and sent them $498. Of course, this was a major SCAM and I call Wells Fargo asap...I spoke with a representative and tell her my story. She give me this "oh really" response and tells me they can't do anything for me...joy, thanks for nothing. Yesterday, I received a check and a note from Wells Fargo stating they decided to give me my money back. I am pleasantly surprise and very thankful...you guys sure have redeemed yourselves. You are still 5 stars in my eyes. I was also recently shown how to deposit checks via the ATM. No more standing in line wondering how long this was going to take. I go to the ATM whenever to deposit and can get money back all without going inside...love that.

They need to hire more checkers/bankers here. My last three visits kept me wanting for well over an hour. The tellers have no sense of urgency here. They're having full blown conversations about personal life and they don't care about the rest of us. Im going to switch my bank. This is insane

I read several negative reviews for this location. I haven't experienced any poor service the few times I've actually gone inside. Majority of the time I stop by to make a deposit or withdraw at the ATM. It's always empty and plenty of parking.

Been to this location twice since living in San Mateo, each time was met with difficulty. Don't waste your time, go to a different location where they are more accommodating and friendly.

Aloha! Been banking with Wells Fargo Bank for years. As a business owner, i waited a little longer than usual in the business/merchant line as i was next to be served. Due to time constraints, i had to leave. I called this branch and was immediately transferred to Stephanie. I shared with Stephanie my experience today and asked about why i wasn't attended to in a more timely manner compared to the 6 others that went before me in the other line. Stephanie was very professional , compassionate and apologized for my experience. It was so nice to be acknowledged this way. She invited me to look for her the next time i come into the bank so she could properly introduce herself. Mahalo Stephanie for taking my call today. And i look forward to meeting you soon.

I keep using Wells Fargo and I keep asking myself why? After the scandals there was some positive possibilities that Wells Fargo might change. There might be some changes but customer service is still terrible. Went to the bank and actually wanted to deposit money into girl friends account, who had a death in family. Found out I cannot do it. Asked for the manager and was told that talking to the Lead Teller was sufficient. No it is not! Manager was about to leave the building for the day at 5pm (while bank is open till 6) and was visibly upset that I escalated the issue. I told him I have done the same things in other states, why is it the problem here? He said it is California rule, and people cannot pay him enough money to go and live anywhere else. Message to the manager: you are awful. As a manager you don't get to pass your personal opinions to your customers. You would not like hearing from me what I think of your weight problem, and I don't care about your political convictions. And tell your tellers to escalate the issue when asked to do so by the customers and not to argue with them. There is a role for tellers and managers and you guys just don't get it.

I was assisted by Imelda. She was fantastic at answering my queries and helped my husband and I get his first credit card! We didn't have to wait so long to be assisted. Walked in and was assisted immediately. The bank was clean, plenty of parking compared to other wf branches Ive been to.

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. On one occasion the branch manager literally forgot to send a $130,000 wire transfer jeopardizing a house purchase. On another occasion I made the mistake of listening to a rep tirelessly shill for their credit card promising it would be automatically paid from my Wells general account. It wasn't, and I was sent to collections without even a courtesy call for a $120 charge despite over $20k in the account set to "automatically" pay the charge. When I found the hit later on my credit report, adversely impacting my score and jeopardizing another property purchase I asked Wells to write a letter that it was a mistake (I had long since paid the $120) but was told "I'm sorry sir we can't". It took a lawyer and a personal contact higher in the company to eventually get the letter. Today I was told I couldn't deposit checks for my business due to a depository "law". When I asked about the law I'd never heard of the teller manager rudely told me to "google it". So I did, in line in front of her. Turns out there is no law, in fact it is the banks discretion in my instance. Would Wells use that discretion to help their client at no cost or risk to them? Of course not. Last straw. Apparently no one learned from the unprecedented $1Bn fine levied against Wells for their predatory practices toward their customers...please vote with your feet and join me in demanding a bank that at least makes an effort on their customers behalf. It is our money they are holding and lending to others for profit!

Terrible branch office, hope they are not all like this. Such poor customer service. I called two weeks ago to confirm they will notarize some papers if I only have a mortgage account. I called to confirm the appointment and the agent had no idea what she was doing and all the bank managers "left the building" just now. She said they could only notarize if it was a mortgage account we were signing on with WF. After the chaos of their cheating all over the media, you'd think this bank would have addressed their issues. Seem to have some deep rooted issues. I normally don't discern one bank from another- but def will steer away from this one for banking or home mortgage.

Very bad service. don't come to this branch. go to other branches instead. This morning, I went there trying to do either wire transfer or casher check. A lady told me to do wire transfer so that my funds will arrive immediately. Thus, she asked a banker to help me do that. The banker is not patient and kept saying to me that this might be a fraud. I said: I already wire transferred to this title company before. They still don't trust me. And then a guy came(who seems to be this banker's manager), asked me again if I checked with title company. I said, i already did wire transfer before to this title company. He then madly told this banker to write down on the document "she refused to call title company" . After he finished the transaction, I thought the money will go to title company within a couple of hours. But then, in the afternoon(around 2:20pm), he called and left a message to me saying that he needs to get my title company's number to verify the wire transfer information is correct. I quickly called back in one minute and another lady told me that she's going to call the title company BUT then fund won't go to title company successfully. (2:25pm) I called the title company at 3pm trying to check if wells fargo called. The lady told me that they just called 5 mins ago. WHAT THE FUCK! I called back at 2:25pm and she called the title company at 2:55(which made me just miss the timeline to transfer the money successfully by the end of today) You guys should have asked me about the number in the morning. I went there at 10am in the morning because i want the funds to be available to title company as soon as possible. I WILL NEVER USE WELLS FARGO BANK AGAIN
