Sea Breeze is an amazing preschool and it made a world of a difference for my son. I can see that everything at Sea Breeze is done with the best intentions and passion for the children, and we are so glad we are a part of the family! Thanks to Sea Breeze, my son learned so many new things, mastered board games (esp. dominoes and Mancala) which really helps with math skills, developed a lot of social skills, was introduced to several sports, which he is passionate about today. Also, thanks to Father Shane, he'd become interested in music and insisted on taking piano lessons, which he is taking and passionate about ever since. I am very greatful to Sea Breeze family for this amazing journey.

My daughter and son both got into Sea Breeze school after having spent time at other daycares / preschools. In the case of my daughter, the wait was 3+ years. So, we are in a position to compare and know what an awesome place this is! My son who's in TK, complains on Mondays of long weekends such as Martin Luther King Day, and refuses to believe there's no school that day, and is actually forlorn for a bit. Wait, is President's Day next week? Darn it. :-)He was pretty shy and quiet the first day, but his love affair with the school, classmates and teachers began without delay. He relishes being the weather monitor one week, then calendar keeper, shoe monitor and so on in others. Kudos to his teachers for inculcating the love of learning in him (he's always asking me to spell something or telling me names of countries or some tidbit or another), and taking such good care of him in the creative ways beyond my comprehension. The school sends a handful of photos and videos each day, and it's a pleasure to see PE class in action, or my son napping in the middle of the afternoon. This past year, the school has handled COVID particularly well. Contactless checkin and drive by check out, no-return lunch and snack packs, social distancing and round the clock sanitizing... it all adds up to what's been a flawless school year so far with zero closures (knock on wood). My daughter who's now in third grade, sometimes mentions she feels lucky to have been part of the Sea Breeze family. Thanks Sea Breeze, we appreciate you lots!

We learned from a neighbor that Sea Breeze is one of the best preschools in the area when my son was only 2 months old and promptly put him on the waitlist. We were thrilled to find out he made into the three-year-old program last year but because of the pandemic we weren't sure we would actually have him go to school until a few weeks before this school year started. Very soon, we knew we made the right decision. Even though there were some challenges at dropoff at the beginning and my son is not the kind of kid that warms up easily, I could tell he liked the school experience and he was learning and absorbing (not so much about knowledge, but about all the other important things in life. Like after just two days of school, he willingly shared toys with his little sister and he washed hands and got ready for dinner without anyone asking!) Sea Breeze is taking the prevention of coronavirus very seriously. Everyone (students, teachers, staff, parents) wears a mask. Smaller classes and no mixing of pods. No parents allowed on campus beyond the check-in point. Contactless dropoff and pick up. Food items must be sent in disposable containers as they will not be brought back home. All classroom toys get washed and/or sanitized after one student's use. I'm sure there are other requirements I'm not remembering at this moment, but the point is the school is doing a lot of extra work to make sure the children can continue to go to school safely. We love my son's classroom teachers and all the other teachers we have met through Zoom meetings or car window--the pickup "service team" has such good humor it is always a joy to see them. Communication is certainly not as easy as it used to be but there are still ways for teachers and parents to connect and share information. We are getting frequent (almost daily) updates/photos of my son's classroom activities and his lunch and nap reports through an app. I know parents can also call the teacher directly although I have not tried. There was a virtual parent-teacher meeting last semester and we had an in-depth talk with the classroom teacher about my son's socioemotional development.Overall, we are very happy with our experience as a student and parents of the Sea Breeze community even though this experience is probably different from what those who attended the school before the pandemic had. We are glad that school can provide my son with a little bit of "normal" in this weird time and we cannot thank the Sea Breeze teachers and staff enough for their efforts to make this happen.

The first thing people say about Sea Breeze when I tell them my daughter goes here is "Wow I have heard a lot of great things about this school". I wonder why there are not many reviews? Maybe everyone wants to keep it as one of the best kept secrets in Foster City... haha! It has been 6 months for her in Pre-School 2 class and so far so good. My daughter absolutely loves her teachers, and also her principal Mrs.Weber. Since attending Sea Breeze we have seen a huge change in my daughters manners and etiquette. She says please and thank you to everything, she sits down to eat quietly and is happy to take turns with toys and wait in lines now which is great.Positives about Seabreeze:- they are taking hygiene and Coronavirus guidelines VERY seriously. There is a lot of updates to families so that we can all play our part to keep our school community safe. So far, no cases!- the facilities have two huge outdoor areas to play in, much bigger than many (all?) of the preschools that I toured. To me this is extremely important as outdoor space, gross motor skill equipment, fresh air and trees is essential for 3-5 year old development and wellbeing.- my daughter does the usual preschool routine like circle time, activities, meals, naps and outdoor play. She also participates in weekly meditation, exercise classes, chapel, science experiments, reading, writing and show and tell.- there is a curriculum theme that changes every week and my daughter regularly (almost every week) participates in a special event that she gets SO EXCITED about like a Thanksgiving meal, Christmas party, Halloween Parade, Valentines Day party etc.- communications are are done through an app and I get daily photos of what my child is doing, how her snacks and meals go and whether she napped or not. I chat almost daily with her lovely teacher Ms. Sharon so I feel included in my daughters day.- my daughter can be tough to manage as she has a lot of energy and a strong personality and Ms Sharon sends home a small reward (stickers, erasers) or a handwritten note almost daily to encourage and motivate my child in the right direction. What a fabulous teacher to make the extra effort for us!- almost all of the teachers have been there for a very long time which to me tells me that it is a healthy and happy workplace. I am greeted with a warm welcome and big smile every day by Ms Wendy and Mrs Weber and all of the teachers seem to have a great sense of humour which makes interactions with the staff more fun.- importantly the waiting list registration and school fees are the most affordable out of all of the schools that we researched which was 10 schools in the area.- the school feels like a traditional school with minimal tech for kids to play with and good old fashioned loving teachers that know students and parents by their first names. We are fine with low/no tech as we have plenty of it at home.Negatives about Sea Breeze: (not much I can think of to be honest)- waitlists are famously long and it is very hard to get in to this school.- the accepted registration time frame was only a couple of days which was very short for us.- not sure if this because of Coronavirus time or not (can't share instruments or art supplies) but I would like to see more music exploration and painting in her classes.

We are thrilled to be part of the Sea Breeze family. The teachers and school staff are so loving, kind, and supportive. The school put in so much effort into developing an effective, fun curriculum for kids in each age group. My son has been going to the Sea Breeze school for two years, and we can see him becoming more social and more confident. I would highly recommend this school but remember to get on the waitlist early!

I am very pleased with this school & the teachers (Mrs Sheldon & Mr Tate) are phenomenal! When it comes to my kids, you have never met a more over cautious mom. I am not easily impressed, but this school is absolutely wonderful.
