“Visited this place three times. Two times for dry cleaning my winter jackets (the heavy coats with fur hoodie) and one for some paddings. The owner helped me pad the holes on my pants.The dry cleaning service was good. The owner did a pretty good job with removing the dirty parts on the jacket’s sleeves. The downside was it was quite pricey imo ($50/1 time) my jackets are not big brands, and I got them on sale ($50 each), so $50 for cleaning two jackets was almost the same price for buying a new one.”

“Top Hat is the friendliest and kindest place to have cleaning and mending done I've encountered on the peninsula and most probably in my life. Their fees are always more than reasonable and they have mended for me jackets, shirts, pants and backpacks on top of all the dry cleaning I send them.”

“Norge is the very best dry cleaner in the area. My family has come here for years because of their expertise, friendliness and consideration. They also use the highest quality chemicals in their cleaning, being very careful of our environment and our clothing. This is a family-owned small, local business that is in its second generation of ownership. Today I brought in a hat I’d ruined by hand-washing it and they tried to fix it but determined that the fabric had not been properly cured so would run even if dry cleaned. They very kindly tried to save the hat as I waited and would not let me pay them at all for their time. To me, Norge represents the neighborly kindness of Palo Alto that I remember from the 50’s and 60’s. Thank you Norge!!”

“I've been going to Laurel Cleaners for a few years, mostly for tailoring but also dry cleaning on occasion. They always do a wonderful job, especially on original hem for jeans. Today, though, I became a customer for life! The zipper on my daughter's Halloween costume broke while trying it on at 4pm on October 30. I panicked, and rushed it over to this shop. She took a look and told me she could fix the zipper before noon the next day! After being in panic mode, the service and accommodation was priceless for this mama... and she still only charged me $10 for the emergency fix. I can't say enough about how happy I am I knew to bring it here!! They are amazing.”

She gave me some advice on a small hole in my jacket sleeve (you'll still see it after a repair so best to skip it since it's small!) Hours: great hours, open late enough to make it after work! Price: moderate. ~$40 for a jacket, two piece suit, and a short dress. Quality: good! Neutral smell, nicely packaged, and clean garment. However there were 2-3 animal hairs in the dark suit that easily brushed off but this is the reason for missing star. Overall: I'd return for convenience and good service! Gets the job done.”

“This was my first experience with Menlo Art Cleaners. I hope this experience continues. My previous dry cleaner closed its business (for good). At the suggestion of an acquaintance, I tried Menlo Art Cleaners to have a very nice, poly-filled winter coat (for very cold weather) dry cleaned. It came back looking wonderful -- I hadn't had it cleaned in a long time, tho' I don't wear it a lot. After bringing them here, they came back looking brand new. “TL; DR: best dry cleaners I've taken my suits to in decades! Friendly, efficient and affordable prices. First, they are always on point and deliver as promised anytime I bring my 2 pc suit set in to get dry cleaned. Often I have short turn arounds and am able to bring in my set by 10am for same day service. They are able to get stains out (only when I've had a few spots as a messy eater ). They've even replaced buttons proactively. I've been taking my dry clean here for almost a decade. Hands down recommend.”

“Haven't written a review in a while and decided my new dry cleaner was the best way to dabble back into Yelp. The son and his mom that own this place are great and super friendly. He always remembers my name and exactly what I brought in - he even remembered randomly that I didn't pick up a white shirt in over a month. It was there because he offered to try to clean it again after a hard stain wouldn't come out in the first go. Pricing is reasonable and I feel like the cleaning and service is a lot better than my last place. Parking is easy right next to the door and it feels safe and clean.”

“This was one of my favorite experiences, not because it was proximite. Not because they did the best job of any cleaner I've ever known, and I live in Tiburon and still opted to come down here when I would work from my Peninsula office. It was that good.But the 5 stars was for Jeff. I wanted to leave this here before a new owner comes in. Jeff always had a smile, always remembered your name, asked questions about life, and over the last 20 years became a good friend, a constant before, during, and after the pandemic, and I only wish I could have said goodbye. Taken from us far too young, a major life experience for me, and a major source of joy, will be leaving with Jeff, and if any of his family or friends were to research him, in this time of grieving, I wanted this out there that he was a major impact on our community, a shining light of friendly and kind spirit, and a wonderful business owner that added so much to our little San Mateo. “It's fairly decent, you have a choice of using credit/debit card or if you have cash, they have a change machine inside. There is also a restroom, vending machines for snack and drink. There are chairs available to sit while you wait for your laundry, as well as baskets you can borrow to roll your laundry from the washer to the dryer, it's a busy place, and it gets crowded easily.”
