Every time I am on the Mendocino Coast, I make it a priority to stop in the Northcoast Artist Gallery. If you only have time to check out one gallery this is the gallery to visit. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!

Visited for a few days, originally I had plans to leave town Friday morning but stopped in to this gallery. Found wonderful whale sculptures which had not been priced since I followed the artist from her car holding a whale sculpture in to the gallery. It was her first day at the gallery and she was setting up. After waiting a couple of hours for the items to be priced, I decided to come back the next week.I looked up the hours online (11-5 M-Sun). I live a couple of hours away, an hour in to my 2.5 hour drive I decided to call the gallery as I would be getting in to town around 4:30. I wanted to ensure they would be open. The lady that answered informed me that they close at 4. When I said I had drove an hour already, thinking they closed at 5 - her response was “oh sorry, that was from before Covid”.It’s November, Covid has been around for 8+ months and is no longer a proper excuse. Safe to say, I’ve given up on purchasing a whale sculpture. Their “new hours” are supposedly 11-4 Fri-Mon... very far from what is posted online.Bummer for the brand new artist who would have sold two whale sculptures today.I also have since suggested google updated hours via the app.

Absolutely amazing gallery to see the impressive works from local artists! Diverse collection and completely run by the artists themselves. I believe the oldest art co-op on the Coast. The perfect place to get gifts and support local talent!

This is a very lovely gallery and we make it a point to always drive into Ford Bragg (when we are in Mendocino) so that we stop in here. Because it is a collaborative, there is always one of the artists present to talk about the various pieces. This time we ended by buying some pieces by Lizzy Helbig, whom we met on our last trip to Mendocino. In past visits we have purchased glass pieces, but this time we ended up with a lovely vase by Lizzy. Well worth visiting this collaborative of very talented artists.

I love this gallery for the variety of work it shows, all of it of top quality. You will find great examples of textiles, ceramics, jewelry, paintings, photography, mixed media, and more, with some variety depending on the show being featured each month. Definitely a must for the art lover!

Northcoast Artists Gallery has always been my favorite gallery on the Mendocino coast! The gallery is bright and spacious, and it never looks cluttered or jam packed with work. Best of all, because it is a co-operative gallery, all of the artists are local and you get the chance to meet a different artist every time you visit. Northcoast Artists is a gem you don't want to miss!

Always find something to take home from this gallery. I enjoy the diversity--paintings, weavings, jewelry, pottery, and more. I'm only in this area once or twice a year, but never miss stopping at North Coast Artists gallery.

Northcoast Artists Gallery is a storefront gallery on Main St. just south of Laurel in the center of Fort Bragg's business area. While visiting northern CA, I happened upon this place by luck and chance. My son and I had been having bad gallery luck that day and this was "third is a charm." We learned from Erika Island, the glass artist that was on clerk duty that day, that the gallery is a coop of many artists. The art is displayed in the most beautiful fashion, as well as --- perhaps better than - any I've ever visited. It is airy, light and refreshingly spotless, No crammed or dusty displays. And then there is the art - or should I say arts! A great variety of art glass, wood, jewelry, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture and textile art (did I forget anything? Maybe but they have a website at And the pricing is in a range that lets just about anyone walk through the door and take away a treasure! A welcome relief to anyone who has stepped into a gallery only to be slapped by sticker shock. I actually thought some of the art was underpriced (I hope no one from the coop sees this and raises the prices!). I was sorry to be at the end of my vacation (and the bottom of my vacation purse) and had to limit myself to one of Erika Island's charming, perfectly formed works in glass and one of Dale Latham's beautifully crafted wood creations - so finely finished that it looks as though it would bend at your touch. I could have easily spent much, much more time and money, so I was happy to learn that I can contact them for purchases later and have them shipped. I think everyone on my holiday list will be getting a gift from Northcoast Artists. This place is definitely worth a stop in Fort Bragg!!

Great little gallery on Main Street. One of the photographers was there (and I bought some of his postcard prints at Icons in Mendocino earlier that day) so that was pretty exciting. I actually got to pick up another one of his works while I was there and he told me more about his photography and the story behind the photos. Very cool little place.

After grabbing an afternoon treat at Cowlicks, we found this little gem while strolling down the street in Fort Bragg. It has a beautiful gallery of photos featuring sights from around Mendocino County. One of the photographers was in and I got to chatting with him for a little bit. Very nice and inspired by what he does. Next time you're in town, swing by! No worries, they allow food in the gallery - just don't spill anything. :)
