Awesome park that I've always driven by. It offers great views of the ocean and seals, with free day use. Glad I finally checked it out.

(Stay began 10SEP23) The bathrooms were quite clean. We have not yet seen a California bath house with heating. The park has tight turns on narrow roads. Good base for visiting nearby attractions.

Nice large campsites with easy access to the beach. Fabulous sunsets and an opportunity to see some seals.

My favorite state park in Mendocino. The sunset views there are always magical.Day use is free, and there’s always parking available.Restrooms: There are restrooms by the walkway at the beach bluffs. Right before the platform.Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly park & camp. Just make sure they’re leashed at all times, so they wouldn’t disturb the wildlife.

We reserved a disabled RV site with a distant view of the ocean, which was walking distance by foot, wheelchair or walker. Close to nice bathrooms and showers. Beautiful flat boardwalk around the ocean and back through grasslands. Picnic tables and sandy beach. Public parking and bathrooms nearby. Dogs are lAllowed on a leash. We only wish the park had RV hookups.

If you are in Fort Bragg definitely take time to hit the beaches - all of them. It's beautiful and soul sitting to be that near the ocean and feel the power of it. Northern Cali has some of my favorite water / beaches. Most of the time you will not see another person. Great hiking along the bluffs too. Go revive your inner sanctuary with a visit.

Beautiful beach. It was a very nice place to walk. I Loved seeing the squirrels. Although please don't feed the wildlife, it's very prevalent that the population of birds is affecting sea lifewhen viewing the tide pools. There still a lot of different types of crabs other types of sea creatures although we sadly didn't see any star fish. It's a great place to see seals though.Restrooms: As bathroom which is nice. No running water though.

One of the best State Park California has to offer. There is hiking, walking paths and of course the beautiful Black Sand Beach. The camping sites are big and includes a fire pit with small half grill. The bathroom is nice and clean. The shower are nice and are quarter operated, the entire park staff was friendly and full of useful information about the surrounding area. The of the best parts was getting to see all the different wildlife including deer, birds and of course the late night visitors like racoon and skunks. The best place to get firewood was a lady right off the hwy 1. It's a small house with huge piles of firewood out front. It's approximately 3-5 minutes from the entrance to the state park.I highly recommend this park for anyone looking for amazing coastal camping.Restrooms: Make sure to take quarters for the showers.Dog-friendliness: Doggies will luv it!Picnic area: Each camp site had a big picnic table.

This is mostly for the visitor center, but also for the day use area and trail. The visitor center is somehow not on google maps and easy to miss but you just pull into the parking lot just past the shed when you turn left. The visitor center is to the right of the shed and has a whale skeleton(s?) outside. The visitor center had a lot of pelts to pet, taxidermy, and skulls. I'm told most add natural deaths, I'm assuming the others may have been reclaimed or had to be killed in self defense, doesn't seem like the place to hunt. I've never touched a bobcat, skunk, civet, both kinds of others, a badger, a mountain lion, or even a gray wolf but now I have! The lady running it was exceptionally nice to me, 10/10 make a stop there. The boardwalk at the day use center was really nice, i only really saw anemones in the tide pool that time, but i did see the seals! Bring binoculars if you want a good look at the harbor seals. They also have a long sand beach and a big parking lot before the regular one, assuming that's for longer vehicles

Great camping place, lots of places to hike and use bikes/ scooters. Staff are very friendly, we came after hours and host at our west pinewood campground was very friendly to meet us although she was getting ready to go to sleep.
