In response to owners reply- REALLY? MY Kirby is a Gen 4!!! Are you taking so many parts you can't keep up? Secondly, I recorded both calls and never mentioned anything about my eyesight. Shall I attach the recording for your customers to hear? I stand by my review! You are not an honest business person!
Orginal Review:
Okay, it has taken me a few weeks to get over the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!!! My husband brought our Kirby in for a simple power cord change and basic cleaning. Let me first share, the Kirby was the last gift ( purchased new) that my mother gave me before passing. So you can imagine it was very special to me and I ensured to take care of it. Well, I am now devastated! I can't look, let alone use what my husband brought home! I noticed the difference immediately ; this shop changed my wheels to cheap gray plastic wheels, my handle much taller (almost chest level), and wobbles from side to side!!! Worst, the outer bag is different. When I called to share my observations "THE OWNER" immediately cut me off and proceeded to almost yell and argue with me- Really, we paid almost $300.00 for changes that were not even on the itemized list. Instead of listening, the owner went on the defense. Hugh RED FLAG! The issue bothered me so much I decided to call back, and this time, the owner shared that his technician shared he did change out the latch that attaches the inner bag. Okay, after yelling and insulting me. We could take the vacuum back, but I dare not EVER STEP BACK IN THAT SHOP. We should have gone to a repair shop with a higher rating and honestly certificated to work on Kirby vacuums. I am sharing with everyone I can. " IF YOU HAVE A VACUUM OR SEWING MACHINE THAT HAS SENTIMENTAL VALUE -- AVOID THIS BUSINESS Shame on the owner, you've taken something very precious away from me!

When I purchased my central vacuum for my new house the owner was helpful. The problem was I didn't ask if it would work on all carpets. It dosen't work on my area rug with the roller brush on because it's too thick or too high. I would have never purchased this is I knew. Iv owned central vacuums before that worked great. Very disappointed. And I had to drive 45 minutes for this answer as the employees don't know

Best vacuum store experience EVER! Owner was extremely helpful and kind. Went in for bags, and he cleaned my vacuum for free… Will never purchase from Amazon again. Support small, local business.

Do not patronize this business. They do NOT Repair anything for less than $120.00 per hour and require a minimum of $120.00 to look at your vacuum. They played this game with me when I got conned into buying a $400 vacuum . Go anywhere but here. Buy from anyone but Howard. Run. Do not walk. Do not even think about tepairs or purchases from this horrible person!

I took my Pfaff serger in for servicing that another company couldn't fix. Upon my arrival, the owner took my machine and inspected it and told me exactly what was wrong with it. It only took a few days and I got my machine back fixed and cleaned. After I got home, I tried my machine. Well it didn't work for me. So I contacted the owner and brought it back in. He was very nice and showed me from scratch how to thread my machine (sergers are difficult to thread). Well clearly the things I was doing were wrong. He showed me step by step how to do it. He serged on a piece of fabric and it was beautiful. I took it home and followed his instructions to change the color thread. It serged beautifully! The owner made me feel confident that I could bring it in anytime if I had issues and he would help me to thread it or whatever problem I was having. I give four stars only because the service was a little pricey. But I am a happy customer!

I am a sewist. I sew my own clothing. I use a Singer Talent machine that was not cheap. The owner(?) was dismissive and rude when it was brought up I have a Singer. He cut me off, said it wasn't a "real" sewing machine but a "toy", and pushed the only two brands he sells there. My machine needs a tune up but there is no way in HELL I'd take it to this guy. Rude, dismissive, and I'd be very wary leaving my machine with a guy who so clearly thinks any machine other than the two he sells are trash. HARD PASS.

Product - a Miele vacuum cleaner - is outstanding. However, the experience purchasing it, and then later purchasing vacuum cleaner bags and filters were some of the most distasteful we've had. The primary sales person, a woman, was, on both occasions, argumentative and downright rude. It seemed as though her primary purpose was to insult us and make us, her customers, wrong at nearly every turn. I won't shop there again, and can't recommend it. I'm sure Miele vacuums and supplies are available elsewhere.

I have been on the market for a vacuum for about 2 years now. We got a Dyson stick vac since 2019 and although it does the job, I was never really satisfied. Researching online led me to a couple of brands, Miele, Sebo and Karcher, but there's only a few dealers I can find around. Everywhere, those brands are priced really high, and the one usually offered in big box stores are the toned down version that isn't really reliable or has a weak motor. Howard answered my questions in great detail and it aligns to what I researched online. He took his time and greatly explained the pros and cons of the vacuums. I ended up buying a Miele C3 Kona which I think fits the needs of our small home. Howard gave me a quick walkthrough for the vacuum which I really appreciate. I used the vacuum as soon as I got home and I was blown away. The unit was so quiet, my wife didn't even notice me vacuuming. That thing is able to suck up every nook and cranny that my stick vac can't reach. And from what I see online about it's reliability, no wonder it's expensive (my wife doesn't know though haha). I'm very happy with my purchase experience and the peace of mind that if something's wrong, I can bring it to Howard to get it fixed.

One of the selling features of my Riccar vacuum was that the parts were not plastic, but replaceable and repairable. I have owned my machine 18 years and I’ve had it serviced once or twice, always within the estimated price range. I was quite taken back when I walked into this store with a question, to which I was interrupted and his quick assessment was that my machine was “over 20-years-old, probably making grinding sounds, and with the $129.00 fee to investigate, probably would not be worth repairing”. I mean, that takes “talent”, to make that assumption without even setting eyes on my vacuum! He is wrong on every count, I HAVE had it serviced, it is less than 20 years old, and it is NOT making grinding sounds.” As a matter of fact, it works well, only a broken piece that does not affect functionality. Sir, I will NOT be returning OR recommending your store to anyone. Even though you informed me on the way out the door of how competitive your prices are ? I assure you, even if the price were exactly the same, your arrogant attitude is a HUGE turnoff.

Exceptional Customer Service!!!After accidentally stepping on and cracking the main body of my relatively new Dyson stick vacuum, I took my now worthless paperweight to Vacuum & Sewing World in Folsom hoping it could be repaired. The Owner of the store, Howard, examined the extent of damage and rather than push a new vacuum on me, he instead thought the vacuum could be repaired for a fraction of the cost. I agreed to the repair and all through the process, Howard always kept me informed since the parts had to be ordered, shipped and installed. Now my vacuum is as good as new! I genuinely appreciated Howard's honesty, professionalism and efforts in focusing on a repair strategy rather than sell me a new vacuum. I would not hesitate doing business again at Vacuum and Sewing World. It was a great experience.

I went in here just wanting to get my vacume repaired I called and the nice girl on the phone said it was no problem. When I went in the man was forcefully trying to sell me a vacume from the 60's. Long story short you literally could not pay me to go back inside this place. I went down the street bought a new vacume that I actually wanted and then took my old one to get repaired for half the price without the hassle. He went on and on about how his vacuum s last for 30 years but I bet that's how long they've been sitting in there as well and they offer no return policy. I'm all about supporting small business but this was terrible. I wish I could leave -5*'s but Google doesn't let me.

Today I brought my dyson in to have it re-evaluated. On June 6 th I brought it in for the reason it would not turn on. It was serviced and seem to be working. I used it once and had the same issue. I was busy at that time and didn’t want to spend the money to take it back. I have 3 other machines. TODAY was the dayto get it taken care of. I entered the store and proceeded to explain why I was there. The sales clerk was fast to mention for the fact I thought I paid around $80 To have it serviced . Her demeanor. was that I was lying and told me impossible I didn’t bring it there! Kill me because I couldn’t remember what I paid ! I did tell her she was being very rude and insinuating I was lying. It’s a stupid vacuum! After her horrible way she handled this I left with my vacuum. I would NEVER recommend this place. I also liked how she also told me Sure you have used it once in 6 months. Also challenging my character!

Took my vacuum I purchased from them for service. After paying close to $200 for servicing the vacuum, two weeks later the wheel came off. I took the vacuum back and I was charged $75.00 again. Avoid this place if you can. When I told the assistant I could have bought a new vacuum instead she went off babbling about landfills and other nonsense so I continue supporting their high cost repairs. I have lived in Folsom over 30 years, I believe in supporting local businesses, but this place I will never set foot again. Non professional, extremely rude and obnoxious. Avoid if you can.

I had a small kitchen appliance that stopped working because a screw came loose. I could not reach in the spot to replace the screw. I tried everything. Someone suggested to me that I bringing it here to see if they might be able to fix it. Lucky for me I had the pleasure of meeting Howard the business owner at the Folsom location. He was so friendly and within 10 minutes I was walking out the door with my item fixed. No charge. I would've happily paid. What was so refreshing though was just honest old fashion customer service. There were a few other customers being helped while I was there. I observed the same courteous customer service with them as well. Because they were busy, I expected that they may not be able to help me but I was delighted that they checked on what I needed and gave me the same level of attention and customer service even though they realized I had an atypical, minor repair. I will be referring them every chance I get!
