I have been with Safe Credit Union since 2007. I stay with this bank because they have always met my banking needs. In years past, I have been very satisfied with the customer service I have received. I feel safe with Safe Credit Union Bank. .

Few years back, they sold the Folsom branch of Keypoint CU to SAFE. Service is not as friendly as Keypoint/AEA, but I have had generally good experience with this bank. Would recommend others to try them out.

SAFE is an absolutely worst CU or bank I ever deal with.Totally careless with falsely advertised terms and benefits, intentionally crook loan & card payment system and customer support openly lying to you.Don't be tempted by their good-on-the-paper looking offers like cashback credit card. It's a plain lie. Your benefits "magically" disappear for months and they keep saying "it's a know issue" for ages without doing anything.P.S. Don't be fulled by SAFE responses like "we're working on that" and other bla-bla-blah. There's absolutely NO reason why such a simple IT issue as missing cashback categories may be existing FOR MONTHS. The same is about automatic payments. SAFE does NOT want you to pay your card statement balance in full. They want to you pay a minimal balance so they charge an overblown APR.EVERY MONTH, folks. You CAN'T pay automatically. And so on and so forth - "known issues" that last forever. You've been warned.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Completely unethical practices. Choose another credit union.I spoke with an employee online and again in the Folsom branch. There was no interest in resolving the matter until I posted my review. I have no interest in banking somewhere that's dishonest and will not work with or take care of its customers. I would highly recommend that no one else banks here if you're looking for a credit union. I have been with Chase over a decade and have never had problems like I did here or been treated the way I was in the 7 months I banked with SAFE.

This review is solely for Breawnna Heffner! After going to three branches and being told I needed an appointment for my transactions, which is true, but I needed it last minute and Breawnna helped me out so much. 10 mins before closing I needed a wire transfer and she was able to do it so quick I was so impressed and she seemed like she was so happy to help me. Give that girl a raise!

My previous 1 star review was meant for Safe CU Call Center and not the Folsom branch. I am giving the Folsom branch 4 stars! I've never had issues with the branch. In fact, I decided to go there in person today due to my frustration dealing with the call center in regards to my system upgrade Issues. Kaity the supervisor was very patience, listened to all the issues I've been dealing with, had me log in so she can see what i was referring to. She made a few calls to the system experts and was able to resolved all my issues in less than 30 mins with a work around. Why couldn't the call center do the same thing esp when they were supposed to be the expert in dealing with the system upgrade?! Both supervisor and the reps kept on telling me the same thing for the last 5-6 weeks that they're aware of the issues and working on it. KAITY, you're awesome! thank you for taking care of me

Since ststem upgrade in April. Been having lots of issues. Its been almost 2 most and they still have not fix a lot of issues. Online banking missing ctedit card info (statements, rewards, etc). Have to call and on hold for a long time. Last call took me 1 hr to complete a simple transaction.

An absolute joke of a financial institution/bank/credit union. I completed online auto application. I got approval right away. After that, there was zero communication from their part. Then I contacted loan department. I told them that I don't want to waste their time or my time. I wanted to find out the terms , specifically the rate. They did not provide any type of terms and rate information. They told me to stop by at the local my Folsom branch with DL and proof of residency. So I show up. They take my info and scan and email it to the loan department. Once again, I asked what's my rate. The branch said they don't know, but loan officer would call me. 5 minutes later they called me and fiiiiiiinally gave me a rate of 3.09 which is ridiculously high. Bank of America was @ 2.44. I will never ever do business with this shady business again. EVER!!!

Made a cash deposit on a Sunday into a Safe CU ATM in front of branch. Was apprehensive about it but thought that if anything went wrong, Safe CU would make things right and take care of me. I put in the money and the ATM froze, then restarted after waiting many minutes. I then put my ATM card back in and checked balance. It did not show the deposit! I then performed the actions for a deposit so I could check the slot and confirmed no money was still stuck in it. Since it was Sun, I waited first thing Monday to file a report and was given a temporary credit, then today, about 45 days later they say they completed the investigation/audit and found only an overage of about half the amount I deposited! They said the decision is final. I was provided no evidence of what the ATM recorded during my use of the machine, nor was I provided with details on the 3rd party company that picks up the money from the ATM and does the double counts. There is a flaw somewhere that can lead to potential error or even fraud because I know exactly how much I put into the machine and the exact denominations! Don't make the same mistake I did, thinking a Credit Union like Safe CU is any better than a Chase or other major bank. I thought they would have my back but there was no compassion, regret, or anything.. just cold hearted bankers who say their process is reliable and their decision is final. Even when I went into the branch to make my case, the lady was unprofessional and not very competent at customer service. I felt insulted that she apologized to the verification department she called and was more concerned about their feelings than about mine and what happened to me. I'm now out a considerable amount of money. Take your money elsewhere, somewhere with more professional and competent staff... with more reliable ATM machines and trustworthy processes. Something happened to the other half of my cash deposit and I suspect the 3rd party company that does the pick up and double counting may require more scrutiny! Needless to say, the Better Business Bureau will be contacted and I intend to severe my relations with this so called "Safe" Credit Union.

They say they are non-profit. If so, where are all the overdraft payments and bounced payments we pay?? It's a big fat lie. The people who work in the bank all look like they'd all rather be someplace else than at a bank. How to you fund a gigantic arena in Sacramento. I think it's several hundred thousand square feet. How does a "not for profit" credit union afford to build it? It must have cost 1/2 billion dollars to build. But yet they keep charging us BS bank fees. This bank sucks. I'm now with a completely no-fee bank called "CHIME". I closed my Safe account yesterday. Feel so happy! They didn't even bother to try to change my mind as I was closing it. (There's nothing they could have offered me to stay anyway). If your sick of constant bank fees with crap service, try Chime!

This branch of Safe Credit Union is excellent, unlike the branch on Hazel Avenue. My wife and I have been doing business with them for over 30 years and have never had a problem with any transaction. The services provided are excellent and the staff is very friendly. Parking is provided and ample.

Phil b here to express that I personally believe Tiffany Vargas is using her role to intimidate me regarding my negative experience with these individuals ( refinancing dept) who I honestly believe to be racist based on my observations and overall feel of the conduct displayed. For this reason I, Phil b. am very defensive and concerned about my safety as the credit union is mighty powerful. I am one man who works two jobs and goes to school, I even cook omelets for seniors on the weekends. Anyhow I attempted to refinance and was laughed at being a low income minority they said I had no chance and for some reason they have forgotten that they're disrespectful demeanor and the manner in which they treated me during my initial contact regarding refinancing is why I'm upset and for no other reason. Regarding secondary jobs or other income to qualify is of no reason for my frustration.I don't know where they have come up with these lies as they do not coincide with the reason for this unfortunate circumstance. It's not that difficult, I attempted to utilize my credit Union to refinance and was treated with disrespect and became angry and upset that's actually quite simple. I'm not allowed to enter any branch, utilize any ATM machine, or call any branch as I must write everything down I believe I'm on the convict tier with the credit union. I'm also concerned my social security number may be in jeopardy. I don't like safe credit union, anymore. I will continue to pay my credit card off and will not have access to anything else. A sad lonely member, (Who's heart feels as though its been ripped out )
