Before coming to this shop, we went in the shop across the walkway. Kind of a coin toss situation to see who's first. We walked in, saw a millennial leaning on the back counter looking down at his phone... We literally turned around and walked out. Then into this store, and it was love at first sight. We were immediately greeted by a sales clerk, who asked a few simple questions. Took us to the part of the store we needed, and were helped by a second incredibly knowledgeable staff member who worked with my wife to find the perfect shoe for her needs (work, lots of standing, good back support). Multiple shoes tried on in side by side comparisons (reminded me of an eye exam... Number one.... Or two... Lol). I've waited to put on this review to see my wife's experience wearing the shoe at work. She's actually having less back pain and is more happy at work. Great staff make a huge difference. I would highly recommend this store to anyone.

Wow, today I went in to Merrell thinking I would end up at my usual Sketchers at Folsom Outlets. (This is not an anti-Sketchers post, nice staff and good sneakers.) I've been having some feet issues and swear by Merrell Hiking boots but never considered trail or running shoes. I asked Ashley for some help and basically escorted me through the process, even suggesting the clearance rack when I realized it was buy one, get the 2nd 1/2 off. These are not cheap shoes, but damn are they comfy... colorful... and Ashley's service was awesome. I don't want my shoes to wear down, but when they do... I'll look forward to a return!

My boyfriend and I used to hike and are finally getting back into it again and decided to stop here to get some proper shoes. Jessica greeted us and helped us as soon as we walked in. After we explained what we were looking for, she grabbed several pairs of shoes to start with for both of us. She took the time to properly explain what we wanted to look for, should we decide to get more hiking shoes in the future. She also took the time to make sure the shoes would fit our feet most comfortably for hiking as well. My boyfriend has larger than average size feet and she really made sure he found the right shoe for him. She pulled out probably 10 pairs for us each in the end to find the right shoe for both of us and made sure we walked out with something we were happy with. Thanks to her, I actually found out I've been wearing the wrong size shoe for years! Lol. Overall, it was a really great and informative experience for us. We now know exactly what to look for for future pairs, but we will definitely be coming back to this store again thanks to Jessica's superb customer service.

-Rare! 2 reviews in 2 days!Just been shopping for a new pair of hiking shoes the past few days. I don’t do reviews often but I felt compelled to in this case do to the extreme differences in customer service.The sales rep was extremely helpful as soon as I walked in. She greeted me, I told her what I was looking for and she showed me all the different sections. Boom! I was off shopping!-My point! Is that It took her 30 to 45 seconds to show me where the shoes were. That’s it! That’s THE reason I spent over $100 today and I felt great about it lol. She’d check in here and there. I also, noticed there were approximately 3-4 customers walking around being attended to in the same CONSISTENT manner by this one person.I’ve been continuously trained in customer service for many years. And this one little thing of just saying hi to a customer that breaches the 10 foot rule. Implies as it sounds, made this deal for the store. The other review was exact opposite:(-This is to the owners of any customer oriented establishment. With respect and If you don’t already, you need to give your employees spiffs/bonuses (could be $1.00 per shoe for exmpl) And in return they will automatically be a little more attentive to every customer walking in the front door. Hence, a higher volume of product being sold to happy customers leaving happy reviews:) Even your employees would be happy. Ultimately and continuously pushing your business growth.It takes money to make money.So! All this wonderful Salesperson did was #1 smile, #2 Greet me, #3 Show me the product. This only took 30-45 seconds of her time and I happily spent money.Call me if you want to grow your business lol;)
