Alex is the first hair stylist I have gone back to more than a couple of times. I usually don't pay for a haircut unless I'm getting my hair dyed, but there's no way I could even attempt the cut she gives me. I don't think I've ever gone in knowing exactly what I want, but I always leave with it. She's really good at getting the full picture of what you want and she always executes it perfectly! I like low maintenance (I'm cheap) and with the way she cuts my hair, it lasts insanely long and grows out so nicely. She's super sweet and it's overall a really comfortable salon and experience.

Believe what you hear about Maribou!!! I didn’t want to wait 2 more months to get into the salon I usually go to, so found Maribou to be convenient with online and quick scheduling. I scheduled a lightening and haircut with Veronica online 2 weeks in advance. I was excited because she specializes in blondes, and I am looking to go from brunette to blonde. I got to Maribou 10 mins early, and 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the manager came out and sat next to me. She said that Veronica had a family emergency, so she sent her home. She told me that she has someone else, Paige, that can “talk to me and see what we can do today”. I am bummed about not seeing Veronica, but totally get that life happens. So, Paige sits me down in a chair and we begin discussing my hair goals and what I am hoping to achieve during my appointment. She lets me know what I could expect out of my first appointment, to which I respond, “you mean today?” and she says “no, you have an appointment today?” and I reply yes, and she said she thought this was just supposed to be a consult. I reply no, this is a whole appointment, I took work off and everything. She immediately lets me know she can’t do my hair today because she has another client. I am confused and say there must have been a miscommunication from her manager. She says she is going to check OTHER locations to see if anyone can get me in (after I already drive 30 minutes to Folsom for my original appointment? Ok lol) and says she is going to talk to her manager to see what they can do. When she returns, she says there is no one at the other locations that she “trusts” to take me, but that she can reschedule me for next week! I explain no, I literally took work off for this and to top it off my Birthday is this weekend, and I just don’t understand why no one called me in the first place to tell me Veronica was out before I came all the way down here. She tells me she can do a partial highlight but that its not what I wanted, so I tell her no that would be a waste of time and money. Paige apologized and I let her know I know it is not her fault and that there was a miscommunication. I appreciate her trying to make something work. I asked to speak to the manager again since she hadn’t come out since first telling me she sent Veronica home. The manager then comes out apologizing, I say I know life happens but I am wondering why I wasn’t called and told this? She tells me that Veronica came into the salon and went to the bathroom, got a phone call that her boyfriend had been in a car accident, and she was in no condition to work so she sent her home. I did not ask for this information and it just felt like she was piling things on, frankly that’s none of my business. I found it strange that the manager would continue to divulge personal information freely. They offered to rebook me and comp my haircut, but I declined. Again, believe EVERYTHING you hear about Maribou…its terrible! There’s a reason why the stylists have so much availability – lesson learned: wait the 2 months to see your regular stylist.

Brooke is the Queen of Red! It’s hard to find an expert in red shades and Brooke really knows her stuff. My hair has never looked better!

I went in to see Hannah Underwood, I told her my thoughts and she brought them to life! My hair wash and blowout had me sooo relaxed. I left so happy with my new look! Definitely will be coming back ?

First time at this salon and to start, it is adorable! Hannah Underwood was my stylist and she exceeded my expectations. She listened to what I wanted but also gave her opinion when I needed it and couldn’t decide one way or the other! Very happy with how I left the salon.

Paige has been doing my hair for a while now and I truly always have the best experience everytime I come in. She is so knowledgeable and helpful in achieving my hair goals!! Every time she has done my hair, it turns out even better than I expected and I always leave so happy and confident. Paige is so kind and willing to talk through what your end goal is with your hair! She's the best and I recommend her to anyone looking for a great hair experience!!!

I love love love going to see Dan! He truly is the excellent when it comes to cuts and coloring. I make the journey from midtown Sacramento just to see him because he's that amazing. His dedication to understanding my preferences and providing advice on the perfect color and highlight tones are unparalleled. Brooke has been doing my hair at the Sutter street location for a while. She does a great cut, and in the past has done wonderful lowlights for me. My hair is naturally white and this year I decided I wanted an all over color. Brooke has done a great job working with me to get the perfect color that looks natural and grows out naturally between touch ups. Highly recommend Brooke and this location.

Every Maribou experience with Brooke is absolutely amazing. She always makes me feel so pampered and my hair looks and feels wonderful. Plus she gives me great hair care and styling tips as well. The salon is gorgeous and I just look so forward to every appointment.

My and my girlfriend have both been to Maribou in the last few weeks and had Brooke as our stylist! We both had amazing experiences! Brooke recommended such great products from their RedKen line. I usually come in undecided about what I want to do with my hair and she always helps me figure it out! This time we cut my hair shorter and did a partial highlight and I am OBSESSED! I can’t wait for my next visit with Brooke!

Sarah at Maribou's Sutter Street location is an absolute dream to work with! I love that she takes time at the beginning of my appointments to discuss what I envision. She really cares about keeping my hair healthy and is always encouraging me to do what is best for my hair long term. She's also a master at the lived-in, beachy blonde!

Sarah always does such an amazing job blonding my hair! The grow out is super natural so I can go longer between appointments. I also love how subtlety she cuts my hair so that it looks healthy without losing too much length! Definitely recommend this salon & stylist

Love the location of this salon and Shelby is truly awesome as a colorist/stylist, especially for blondes. She is friendly, listens to my concerns and is great about checking in each appointment to make sure I'm happy! The salon itself has a clean, relaxed vibe and the old town neighborhood is cute to spend time in before or after your appt. If you have a weekend slot, good to go early to get a parking spot and note Sutter may be closed off to traffic for festivals.
