What an awesome little downtown! Plenty of food, shopping, and overall charm. Wonderfully historic! Free parking, public restrooms, and a small museum too. There is an amphitheater with summer performances listed on site. The General Store is coming soon. Ice cream and fudge from Snook's was perfect on a hot summer day. Check it out!

Check out Black Miners Bar State Park across the river. Fascinating!!!In 1844, before the gold rush, Mexico issued a land grant for 36,000 acres to a half-black man along the American River here. Then in 1849, just before California statehood, black miners found gold on a sandbar in the river.By the park’s beach/boat rentals, there are wonderful historical markers explaining this early black history and that of the Native Americans and Chinese too.

A very nice place full of California history, very well preserved. An excellent place to walk, see art, or spend time with family and friends.

Folsom Historic District has something for everyone. Great restaurants, antique stores, book stores, bars, toy shop and even a theater. It has the old west feel to it. I never get tired of just walking around down old town.

Recently have been re-checking out the area. The lake is rt with some of the best trails in the county. There is the beautiful Lake Natoma Inn as well. And recently, I visited the Moose Lodge for the first time. Do yourself a favor and get a membership. Outstanding area.

What a really great day! Walked up and down Sutter Street with our family from Mexico! A lot of stores are not open on a Tuesday morning, but we window shopped and had such a great time. A few stores we were able to enter and could have spent hours. Had a beer at the folsom hotel which was AWESOME, so much nostalgia from the old western days...Such fun! Looking forward to our next visit!!

Cute and cozy little town. Great shops for shopping and dining. For all of your jewelry needs, I highly recommend going to Vosswood (which is located on Sutter Street). Great atmosphere.

Hadn't been in years and was sad to see some old favorites no longer in business. Is nice they have a section of the street blocked from traffic and plenty of outdoor seating. More wine tasting than I recall ..so that was nice as well.
