I have been a continuing member since signing up before this facility actually opened their doors. The actual gym and machines are the best in the local area (for the price) and while they may be understaffed (who isn't these days), I don't have any issues with the facility nor the employees at this location. The problem and reason for the low rating is their billing department. We had signed up for personal training services (years ago) which was cancelled in December. Our membership and personal training were set up for payment on 2 different cards. In January they charged Personal training to the card set up to pay the membership dues and did this without permission to charge that card. We contacted the manager of the personal trainers and he was able to get that refunded - with a check sent to us about 5 weeks. I think the fact that we disputed the charges with BofA probably helped. We informed them at that time they are no longer allowed to initiate any further electronic payments. Each subsequent month our accounts shows billing for personal training services. There is no way to actually contact In Shape billing department and actually speak with a person. We have opened multiple "service" tickets via their app, left more voice mails than I can count and it is virtual radio silence. Did receive one call back first part of this month from a kind rude women that said she would have to contact the Folsom facility to confirm cancellation and would get back with us. No call back. Coming up on the first of the month and a check of our account still shows charges for personal training service. This is just a friendly warning to think twice before attaching any account information for electronic payment here. Once they see a reoccuring charge you will continue to be charged with no way to actually contact them to get that stopped.

The jacuzzi and steam room have been down for over a month and nobody really seems to care. Manager never even called mee back after I left a msg. This isn't the only reason, they have issues since In Shape" took over. Probably going to a competitor soon.

Sadly seeing a significant decline since In-shape took over. Definitely no longer the fun CalFit I’ve been a member for 5+ years. I’ll be looking for a new gym/pool.

Good gym but b??be mindful of signing any 20 pager contracts. I enrolled for one month training program and liked the training so I extended it for other three months. Upon requesting not to continue after three months I was yet to charge for fourth month and told dad that I required to intimate a month prior whereas this was the verbal communication I had that I only wanted it for three months. Not sure if it is fair, but trying to ask if they can adjust that money and leave it on you to guess if it was possible or not

The transition to the new app could have been more professionally organized. Blocking access to the gym for individuals at the front desk due to the old barcode issue seems counterproductive. When I inquired about it at the front desk, the response was, "Yeah, I know," which felt senseless……Whole transition is a big thumbs down. Poor execution.

We are visiting from out of town. I wanted to take my disabled daughter swimming. I called beforehand to make sure the pool was open. A super friendly young man was very helpful and let me know that it was open and for a reasonable fee of $25 for me and $10 for my daughter I could absolutely take her swimming. The front desk girl was equally as friendly and helpful in filling out the waiver. Easy peasy. The gym was spacious and very clean. But best of all, for my disabled daughter in a wheelchair, everything was well marked and easy to navigate. Two handicap bathroom stalls. One large shower with a bench and two private dressing areas. The counters were perfect height. It was easy to maneuver her wheelchair through the locker room and through the gym to the pool. A large lap pool, a hot tub and two separate recreational pools were outside. Lots of choices! And while it was early November, the kid's water park looked super fun for summertime!A great experience from the disability perspective. From the first phone call to exit. Highly recommend this gym!

Good gym for the price point for a family, but is a less compelling price for individuals. I like most of the equipment, it's usually clean, and not too much waiting outside of peak times. I really wish they were open later on weekends, but I understand there may not be enough members during those times to make it worth the cost of staying open.

One of the better ones and cleaner calfit I have been to. I have been a member for many years and like going there. One thing I like is they close off one section around 5:30 or so for an hour or more for paid classes, and recently they added more machines bur as a result reduced floor space for people who want to work on the yoga mat

They have a great selection of free weights and machines! My only complaint is their limited hours. I am literally about to drop my membership with them in favor of a gym with better/longer hours cus it just sucks that they are closed at 8pm on weekends!

First of all I love this place. This is my local gym and me and my kids enjoy it here a lot. The staff are respectful and the training devices are clean. I would say though you guys should clean your pools for any moss. especially in the big pool and the spa. Still love this place and there is no better Family Fitness I have went to! :) will give this a 5 just please improve the pools.

CalFit Folsom is a great gym! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The gym is also well kept and very clean. I feel very comfortable and confident working out at this location. The KidsClub is also a huge plus for me!! Only thing I'd change is for the hours on Friday and Saturday to be longer. It would also be great if on Sunday and Saturday the KidsClub hours were extended past 1pm so I could go after work as well. Other than that, it's a great gym to be apart of!

One important thing that nobody takes shower before entering the pool unfortunately, this is a very poor management that they don't Inforce the requirement of cleanliness and avoid getting sick from people who are entering the pool unclean....... you can put a big post " shower before entering the pool" and assign one person to check people until it is enforced. And eventually it will after some timmes

Fantastic employees. Enjoy Blane at the front in the morning. He greets the members by name in the morning. Great personal experience.

One of my favorites out of the Cal Git locations. It’s huge and even when it gets busy there are so many machines that your workout won’t be stalled.
