I went for the Scaregrounds and it was a lot of fun! Highly recommend going in October and buying tickets in advance.

A little hard to find in the dark but we were able to hookup and get to where we needed to be. Prices online were listed different than to what was posted when we got there but it was convenient to pay after hours. Not busy at all

Many RV spaces have electricity and water hookups. I don’t believe any have sewer hookups, but there is a wastewater dump station elsewhere on the fairgrounds. There are clean showers and restrooms. The road through the RV park is gravel, and the ground in the RV spaces is bumpy requiring the use of blocks to level the RV. I camped there in late July when Sacramento Valley towns were experiencing triple digit temperatures. Temperatures at the Fairgrounds did not exceed 65°F. I wore a fleece vest and a down coat most of the time I was there. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby.

Nice place for a dog show. Overflow camping was convenient and affordable.
Town siren in the middle of the night was a bit much, but not part of the fairgrounds...

The lady running the show was a real bit.h. Show up before 7pm or you don’t get a bathroom code and have to figure out things.
Car camping is parking on a grass field. Might as well park in town on a side street and use the public bathroom in town.
Shower was decent, hot water, no soap.

I needed to dump my trailer waste water, I tried all places in fortuna, they were both out of order. So I headed out to fairgrounds, as I walked up to host trailer, lady came out and instantly was rude ,and un uninviting, I asked if and where I could dump and she rudeltold me where and it cost $10 dollars, I reluctantly paid and asked again where to go, and she again rudely told me, and as I left told her to have a wonderful day. So I would not recommend this place ,and the dump site is absolutely not to code ,and charging $10 you think could afford to make code. Horrible place don't go.

Spent 5 hours on Saturday at this fair and had a great time. Friendly folks, lots of racing (dogs, pigs, horses) and beautiful, interesting animals to see.

We stayed here three nights and loved it. The host, Kai, was friendly, personable and helpful. The pasture was so beautiful to look at across the street. Our spot on the grass was grassy and level. The location was so excellent, being 5 miles from the beach in one direction, and less than a mile to downtown. The showers were the best we’ve had in the four months of traveling. Boiling hot and very clean.

Camp host is the worst we have ever encountered, and if you look at how many places we have reviewed that says a lot! When I was examining the site to figure out pulling in, she came out with a grouchy attitude and a scowl on her face. My wife got a bad vibe from just seeing her and requested I ask the office staff to assign us a different site. The office staff was so friendly that I was fine with asking for a site further away from the host. They switched us from site 4 to site 54. I pulled the trailer to the back of the park and was starting to back in when my wife said I was going to hit something. This confused me because it was an empty field. The camp host had driven extremely fast up on my blind side!!! After almost causing an accident she snapped at me that I was in the wrong site. Like I would be stupid enough to confuse the sites when I had already looked at the sites on foot?. She was rude, and super grumpy. She tried to say the site we had picked was no good and we were going to get stuck. My wife was standing in the site and would have alerted me if it was soft. Then the "host" said we were too long and would stick out, which was false. For some reason she really didn't want us over there, not sure if it was a power trip or if she wanted to keep an eye on us. Either way she was rude. She nastily said if we got stuck we would have to pay to get towed out. ? First off we carry supplies to not get stuck and have towed our trailer in every continental state in mud, sand and more. Second off, who would think that someone else would pay for a tow? If I call a tow truck, I pay for it so her premise was dumb. So then the host figured out we were just going to take the spot the office had allowed us to take and she starts to back up quickly directly towards my wife and youngest child!!!! When I pointed out to her that there was a child back there she state, 'well they better get out of the way!' So unprofessional and not acceptable. I will be emailing the county commissioners about this incident. So if you are going to stay here, avoid the "host" and try to talk with the staff. Also, there is a dump station in the fairgrounds proper you can use on your way out.
