“the staff is gracious and attentive, the building is well-maintained especially considering its age (142+ years!) and the wetter climate up here, and the decor is impeccable! good music playing throughout the house too.
i got stranded in town and the innkeepers (and many shopkeepers down the main drag) were kind to a panicked stranger and exceedingly accommodating (bonus recommendation for spencer's ferndale vintage)”
“Stayed here for 1 night during our tour of the USA. Excellent price-quality ratio in the region near Eureka. The hotel is clean and tidy. A bit dated and some signs of wear in the room (torn curtain) but otherwise fine. Nice beds, nice swimming pool, good (fairly standard) breakfast. We would definitely come back if we were in this area again.”

“We were staying at Ferndale on our way up the Northern California coast and wanted to try a local restaurant. This was the only place that was open when we arrived at 7pm, and we were glad that we stopped by. The service (from Ryan) was excellent, and the place is beautiful and not crowded. We enjoyed the daily special (chicken breast wrapped in bacon), filet mignon and salads (not over dressed), and the locally made ice cream. The whipped butter is to die for. Overall, a good dining experience at a reasonable price.”
