i usually go to the capitola store for a better selection of large redwood beams, but i want to review this store because the people there are amazing. well not all of them but i had a few great experiences with some of the folks that have been there a while. cant remember names but top-shelf service. Knowledgeable and they don't talk down to you if you don't use the perfect lingo for what you are looking for. best experience was with the manager, i think Linda? but I could be way off and it was about 3 years ago anyway. with virtually no questions asked she donated hundreds of dollars worth of lumber and hardware so i could build the Lompico library. just a big box sitting at the bus stop for people to donate or take books. its been a great addition to the park there, and would not have been possible without her generosity. everyone who uses that library should thank her! or at least they should all buy local and go to San Lorenzo Lumber!

What a find! Loads of lumber, including native redwood. The employees are very knowledgeable. They sure do know their lumber! I always feel comfortable in a hardware store, but this one is special.

The yard has way more wood in stock normally and is never as crowded as the Santa Cruz ProBuild. Also they'll make cuts there instead of ordering less common sizes like 1x6's, which helps you get better quality pieces overall. Very cool to see the giant band saw they use for that by the way.
