I have often shopped here at Valley Hardware in Fall River Mills, CA, and have generally been satisfied with the store and the employees (hence the two stars instead of one) but I stopped in to have some copies made of some personal financial papers, and noticed that the man behind the counter made an extra stack of copies from my papers and put them in a pile behind the counter. Then he made my copies. After I paid for my copies, I leaned over and saw all my personal info on this extra set of copies. I asked him about them, and told him that they had my social security number, etc. on them. I then told him that I was going to go ahead and take them as well. He said, "Oh, that's fine. I was going to shred those". I should have asked him why he made them in the first place, but it was obvious that they were for him to read BEFORE he shredded them. I don't know if he was just being nosey or was actually going to use my information for other reasons, but he had no business making those extra copies and setting them aside for himself for whatever the reason. If you're going to offer copy services, you need to respect people's privacy. I will make a big effort to never go in there again.

Terrible service!! James and Rick can always be found behind the counter with their heads down like they are busy. Seems to be a problem if you ask for help or if it is ten minutes before closing you can count on being greeted and reminded how long you have. Rude and incompetent employees. Too expensive of a store to have rude employees as well!

My favorite place to shop locally! They always have what I need whether it's as small as nuts and bolts or as large as lumber. They can color match your paint! Or buy an assortment of plants in their fully stocked nursery. Even fruit trees! Locally owned and operated. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful!All around FANTASTIC place to shop!
