I looked at expiration date for most haldiram bhujia packets and they were expired, picked pickles and a bunch of them were expired, picked gulkand and again, expired. Besides, all this the young cashier has an attitude and unhelpful. I would recommend people go elsewhere where risk of buying expired groceries are lower.

Buying spices from here for a while now. It's the easiest place for me to pick up since I can just park on the street and easily walk in. Amar has a such an amazing variety of spices and dried goods that I'm sure I could find all I need after a long commute home. They also have fresh vegetables and a ton of frozen items. Their selection of frozen samosas is immense that I've found myself trying almost all of them. The shop can be a bit overwhelming because it's super full and there are many isles you can't walk through but I didn't have a problem with it. Although there is a language barrier, the cashier was very friendly. I've never been over charged on any of my items thus far and appreciate when I need to reach for something too far back on the top shelf, the cashier is always willing to help (coconut milk is always at the back top shelf).

All frozen items in the freezer from kebab pakora meat are way past expiration.I saw items more than a year expiredWhat a shame selling expired food items that can make someone very sick. I hope this bosri wale chacha gets sued soon and goes bankrupt

The store is a bit small, but they are well stocked with spices, grocery items and kitchen supplies. Bonus is the parking lot in the back if you can't find parking along the street in front

No doubt the stuff that Amar grocery has is great! However, I feel the owner uncle get very nosy, judgmental and at times passes comments on items bought that turn you off. Whenever we come to eat at the Amar restaurant or buy grocery, there is something said either by uncle or his wife that is not in a positive light.Once we orderd Papri Bhalla Chat at the restaurant, when aunty responded that they don’t have bhalla in Chat and we can mix it ourselves if we want but they won’t do it.On another incident, we went to buy turban when uncle commented on the color we want to buy since the color looks ‘old’ according to him.We respect uncle’s age and experience but we would enjoy our trips to his store more only if we ‘ask’ for suggestions. Thanks.

This guy (the owner) is a thief. Save yourself the trouble and shop elsewhere. He is very manipulative - He charges extra as he pleases and wont accept exchanges on products as he please.
