Love this store. They have beautiful jewelry and textiles and many other things of interest. It’s laid out well to be able to easily find what you’re looking for. Things are well priced. I’ve been shopping here for years. Highly recommended.

I have never been to this particular store before, but the enchanting aroma of incense drew me in! As I walked down the steps, there was a gentleman behind the counter on an iPad, listening to what sounded like a radio talk show in a different language. I love learning about culture and didn't want to interrupt as I walked around the store I noticed that iconic Buddhas with handwritten messages about what each figurine stood for. I only know about a couple of the Buddhas and good luck charms within the Japanese and Chinese culture but Tibetan culture is still new to me. Some of the items were a bit overpriced, but I believe for the value since they were imported, it wasn't too bad of a price. Plus, I love shopping at small businesses and I fell in love with some bracelets that look similar to an Nenju in Japanese culture, made out of turquoise and tigers eye. I know the healing qualities of both beads, and I bought two of the bracelets for my son and my best friend. As I asked the gentleman about the masks on the wall, he was delighted to tell me about his culture, and how there is a Buddhist tradition where people wear a larger version of the mask to ward off bad/evil spirits at different festivals throughout the year! I was able to share with him about the Japanese culture and how they have a festival in February where someone wears a red or blue mask of an OnI mask. He listened to my story and added more from his culture since he was from Tibet! I love to listening to his story, and he actually brought up a video of the cultural dance on his iPad! I felt very enlightened for the day, and I loved learning about his culture and history! I will definitely be back again!!

It was a lovely Sunday morning, my last day in California. I was enjoying a yummy breakfast of grits and bacon while listening to the sounds of New Orleans music just outside the restaurant with a hummingbird sign. I had been eyeing the shop Tibet Moon for the past 90 minutes, hoping it would open before I had to leave. It was fathers day, so I didn’t expect it would. Much to my surprise, I saw the open sign on in the window as we were saying goodbye to friends. I hurried through the door and spoke with the man who ran the shop. I could have spent hours in there, but only had 15 minutes or so. I found beautiful sterling silver, turquoise and coral rings in my size, there were pieces of all sizes and was delighted to see some dainty designs that were perfect for me. After choosing my jewelry, I didn’t have much time left to look around, but I was enchanted by the selections of silk fabrics and Tibetan leather shoes. I hope to return one day to explore this wonderful shop more thoroughly.

I've been looking for a long (but not too long) flowy cotton summer skirt for over a year now. The kind you see on racks outside shops in foreign coastal cities for $10. I've tried searching "peasant skirt," "boho skirt," and even looked on temu, the scourge of internet advertising (to be fair, back when temu was unknown). I coveted one Brooks Brothers skirt, but wouldn't even consider the $200 price tag). Then, one day as I walked my dog in downtown Fairfax, I saw the outdoor rack of flowy cotton summer skirts of my dreams outside Tibet Moon. I bought a mid-length navy blue skirt, then stopped on another dog walk a week later to buy a long fuschia skirt. I've worn the fuschia skirt twice now and have had multiple people come up and compliment me on it. (My favorite compliment was from a first grader). One woman asked if I wouldn't mind telling her the price range and couldn't believe the $19 price tag. There are also lots of other fun gift-able items inside. My younger daughter has her eye on some felt kitty cat slippers. I let her pick out some $1 sparkly bangles for her and her sister. Friendly service.

On my way to Fairfax, this shop caught my eye. It was one of the few remaining open stores at 7 pm with a huge SALE sign on its storefront. Found parking right in front on a wet rainy day and strolled in. The store was delightfully filled with colorful men, women and children's wool clothing, outer ware and shoes, as well as home goods and jewelry, from Tibet (Himalayan) region. There were also bedspreads, pillow cases, Made with different textures of wool, alpaca, cotton, linen, fabrics feeling organic and comfortable made me linger longer away from the storm outside. Many sacred Buddhist ritual artifacts adorned the store with a hint of sweet incense lit up somewhere. There was a sole store clerk who was friendly and helpful, but not pushy. I wanted a soft floral scarf and an elephant bell garland. He noticed my elephant bell had a faint sound, and he added another bell with pliers just like that. Wow, service! As he rung up my items, he said all items are 15% off, except for Dalai Lama books, music and items. I left the cozy, dry, serene, and sweet smelling store feeling good about my items. The store clerk and I had a chat about my librarian cousin who works for a Tibetan library and museum in Manhattan, and visits Tibet every year. He was delighted I knew a few things about Tibet. And, says my cousin has a wonderful job to be able to travel to Tibet each year. The place was literally an oasis from the outside chaotic weather. From my wonderful experience, I'll be back.

I've added two photos to assist. I would love to write more later. But I just had to take a moment to glow about my recent purchases and his very kind service. Just be careful, everything is so beautiful and authentic it is hard to not buy up the entire store.
