I have tried various different businesses in downtown Sacramento, Roseville and Folsom who failed to fit the criteria set by my VA doctor.
After explaining the problem with the various businesses in the region to my VA doctor, they recommend that I switch technicians. After the VA nurse called to set the referral, I explained that my VA doctor recommended a different technician because of the various locations being incompetent to make the orthopedic inserts.
So, the VA nurse recommended that I try this business. She sent the referral to this location and they called me soon after and was able to get fitted quickly.
I am super impressed and incredibly grateful for being referred to this location because it’s the very first time that a technician was able to make the inserts for my feet.
They really deserve five stars for being able to make the inserts correctly. I took off one star because of the lack of availability in dress shoes and colors. The lady at the counter was a too much in trying to get me to be happy with the shoes that I received, but it’s the inserts that are finally made for my feet. I can explain to people that the shoes are orthopedic shoes. But I’m no fan of New Balance shoes and will take the “N” off the sides of the shoes. I will try to find something to cover it.
Overall, I’m super very happy with Alex’s comfort shoes. Very qualified and talented.
The other businesses in Sacramento, Roseville, and Folsom basically have the “fake it until they can make it “ type of unqualified technicians.

I got a decent pair of well fitting walking shoes here - twice now - and will return at some point for a third, but I have not figured out why they seem to project what I perceive as a general disinterest in their customers. Maybe it's a real chore these days to wait on people and serve them. An indifferent body language from the get go here seems apparent. It may be a remnant of Covid distancing but I have my doubts. How do they keep a business like this going? They offer a good selection and will make an effort to fit you but could use some people skills. I used to be in sales and visited many different family run small businesses, but I simply do not recall such repeated standoffishness by the management and the personnel I've had occasion to deal with there. Bizarre.

I really liked the store. There are Russian-speaking employees. Many thanks to Ulyana. I experience pain in my foot when I wear closed shoes. Good branded shoes don't help either. Getting to see a doctor is a very long story. Here they told me what problems I had and why. We picked out special sneakers of the latest New Balance model. I felt such a relief when I put on these sneakers. I have never felt so comfortable.
They also make orthopedic insoles and have orthopedic shoes for all seasons. The prices are a little higher than a regular store, but it's worth it.
I recommend this store. If you experience any discomfort or pain in your legs, come in. They will help you, advise you, and advise you.

I have feet that are supranated ( roll outward when walking) and cause hip and IT band pain. Richard, at this store, fitted me with the insert and shoe that should alleviate the problem. I’ve had them two weeks now and there’s a noticeable improvement. Plus, this store is “ old school “ … the customer actually gets real individual service. So anyone out there is having some foot issues,etc., this is the place you want to go to.

If you need help finding shoes for your tired or wide feet this is a great place to go. They will listen to what you need and help you find it. They carry a lot of orthotics but also just really well made shoes that are stylish and comfortable.

Great customer service and a wide variety of shoes for your selection. Got fitted with custom cast inserts and new shoes. On my 2nd pair now and looking forward to my third pair this fall. 1 Pair of Tennis shoes, Hiking boots, and will probably get casual dress shoe next visit.

He was so courteous and politeful! He made sure that they were custom made to my feet and they fit right. I felt I was being picky about color and style but not once did I feel rushed or an inconvenience. I couldn't pick them up right away but they had no problem holding on to them until I could pick them up. I will happily come back when I need a new pair!

Delt with two different folks here during my visit they were both great. I have issues with my feet needing an especially wide toe-box, and managed to they find me two shoes that fit. However, those shoes were ~$130 more expensive than what is typical for them, and they absolutely tore apart in under 3 months, unacceptable for $300 shoes. I wouldn't mind the expensive markup if they lasted me as long as promised, but these things showed wear within the first month of use.

As someone who works in public service , I’m on my feet wearing boots for at least 10 hours a day. For a long time I had pain in my feet because of this . After going to Alex’s , They were able to fix my issue and sold me custom inserts as well as a pair of nice leather boots. Now I no longer suffer from pain in my feet after a full day at work! Excellent customer service!

The VA has me come here for orthopedic shoes and inserts. Great staff friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend you visit this store if you have orthopedic issues.
