“When we reached out to Zillow, we didn’t know we were going to get connected to a realtor. We certainly didn’t know we would connect with the best there is.Our family was feeling a little more comfortable with the idea of a female representative until we actually had our first meeting with Tom. The idea of going with a female representative was ridiculous in the face of how far Tom was willing to go for our family straight out of the gate. No other realtor was willing to be available on our schedule, even though he had many other things that required his attention. Tom just went the distance at every turn.Once the process got started, Tom was not only knowledgeable, but able to tell us where his knowledge reached its limits. We learn to respect and trust Tom quickly and deeply because of this small but important detail.Our family was able to find the right home, because Tom was candid with us to a degree that forced us to be more realistic than maybe we were being at the time. Being unreasonable is understandable for a new home buyer because buying a home is a very large undertaking and involves a lot of feelings that you did not expect you were going to have. Tom was aware that this was going to happen to us and did not make us feel lesser for it. It’s very scary but Tom made it fun and did all the heavy lifting.Suddenly the negotiations began! Since negotiation is not our families strong suit, we did ask Tom who would be doing the negotiating and what that would look like. Tom took the bull by the horns, and did exactly what we wanted to even when we couldn’t do it for ourselves. It was a little like buying a home with your cousin, or your best friends brother.Tom asked us the hard questions, and it wasn't always easy but then we laughed as a team, even if it was at ourselves.At the end of it all, Tom was exhausted with us. Now, that may not sound like a big deal, but that says a lot about how far he’s willing to go with you through the process. The fact that he was still with us past the end of our process is an amazing thing to us.We are incredibly grateful that the universe paired us with someone as amazing as Tom.Incidentally, somewhere along the way, we understood that Tom received a very impressive accolade from some very powerful people in California. He made all of us in Humboldt very proud.”
