Staff is rude and makes you feel bad for being there, particularly the cashiers. Such a beautiful garden center, but will not be returning unless I have no other choice. I have given it several tries and it has always been a bad experience.

The Christmas shop is up and running. A great place to see ornaments, lights and locally made gifts.

I love to explore the Pierson Garden Shop because they have very unique items. I hardly ever need to go to any other nursery.

Beautiful place. Knowledgeable people. Great variety of proven local plants and everything you need to grow them. Watch out for the velociraptor!

I also have been going to (and loving) Pierson's (especially the garden shop) since the 80's. I remember when I first laid eyes on the koi pond with my kids. I couldn't believe someone would create such a beautiful place for the public. Yesterday, I returned an expensive rose that, once it bloomed, was not the rose the label said it was . Instead of a gorgeous yellow David Austin rose, it had a runty white blossom that barely opened (I believe sprouted root stock.) I had to dig the rose up and put it back in its big pot and lug it to the car and then into the store. Instead of gracious empathy from the manager who originally sold it to me----- "Oh, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, of course you can return it."----- I was greeted by a scowl and suspicion and the statement that I could get "in store credit." I said, "You're the one who sold me the wrong rose!" She never apologized or in any way acknowledged my experience. For me, this does not reflect the "spirit of Pierson's," which is what keeps people like me going back there for decades.

When I go there always nice , I call and ask questions and get an answer that's totally understandable. Prices may be higher but, they usually have what you need. And if it's hardware the store has what you need.

I've been going to Pierson's since the 1980s, so I know this place. The store is pretty good for an area the size of Humboldt County, but I've been disappointed a few times not able to find this or not. Pierson's has somewhat of a monopoly in Eureka which takes me to this observation: most of the employees have been there forever it seems and a few of them have copped a snobbish attitude and come off like know-it-alls. The other day I went in to buy some wood paneling of a certain type which they were out of. I asked Jan in Flooring about it and got a sarcastic response, telling me they "never" carried that item, even though I have proof of having bought it there 6 months ago. I said I'll bring in a sample of the thing next time I come in and heard her say, "sure, o.k. fine, but you're wasting your time." Ace on Harris Street doesn't carry this item, but if I could go somewhere else, I would.

we Just moved here from the city full of big box office chains. And yes Home Depot is way cheaper but I also enjoy family owned businesses being one myself. We were on a mission looking for some chicks and garden starts and after a few failed attempts at other places we found the hammer. Great selection. Friendly folks. BEAUTIFUL garden. A little pricy and parking was a bear but worth it. We loved the locally made section. We will definitely bring family through when visiting. Highly recommend

A garden shop that you can walk around in a dreamy state enjoying all the beautiful plants and listening to the water fountains. Large selection of pots, trellises, garden statues and of course plants. Awesome gift shop that changes themes at Christmas. They carry my favorite Renee's Seeds and more. Good customer service, better in the hardware section. The whole place is pretty pricey, but fun.
