Avoid this place. Prices on items will be way different at the register and even if you show proof with a picture they refuse to honor the listed prices. Also check the dates, a lot of the items are out of date.

This place has really gone downhill. Apparently they don't even have a restroom for employees. Avoid.

New ownership, won't give me a sale price posted and visible from the register. Probably won't come in here again.

Bought a case of beer. Upon returning home I found it was disgustingly moldy on the bottom and inside the box on the cans. Drove back and talked to the same cashier wanting to return it for sanitary reasons. He was annoyed and appeared inconvenienced. Couldn't find the same brand that wasn't moldy so i got a different kind. He found that clearly aggravating and made me pay cash for the difference... despite the fact that we live in the 21st century. One more thing. Their sandwich bread is always dry. Someone needed to say it.Should have just gone to Safeway. Won't be going back.

This market has a great in-store butcher and deli.

Pretty well stocked for as store that size. Somewhat spendy. No public restroom.

I moved into the neighborhood in Dec 2022. The market immediately reminded me of many corner stores that center on beer sales in cities. Produce was emergency buy only. Some products looked out of date. The sandwich I bought was weak. I now understand the prior owner managed it differently and was loved. Since then I have spoken to the newer owner and a long term employee about the difference. I think they are now trying harder. They didn't buy the market to make it fail or to degrade it. I notice a much more friendly attitude recently. I think they realize the gold in this goose came from the products and services and the loyal customers. It is not like the owner's properties in other towns. They told me that they want to make it the very local choice for weekly grocery shoppers. There are a lot of older non-drivers in the local blocks. The produce looks better recently. The meat looks better. Maybe not my choice for the big weekly shopping (WINCO) but it is starting to get close and I am buying the non-big shop there. They have what they need in terms of space and facility. And the owner is changing slowly as he sees the demand. If we want this store to meet our needs, then I suggest telling them directly what is wanted. I know them well enough to know they respect direct communication and will try to meet it. If you want the outdoor grill, ask. There is a fee they would need to pay to the city. But if we ask, I think they would. But if we ask, then be prepared to support! Bottom line: unknown today. It is up to them and us. And if successful, there won't be a them and us. Only us. I say, give them business and see if they can be genuine Humboldt like before or better.

Quality of sandwiches just isn’t there anymore. Wish this Market wasn’t so over priced considering the neighborhood it’s located in.

Rude customer service. They tried to charge my entire card twice and argued with me about it when I confronted them

Greatest place for a sandwich in town imo.

This place used to be the best sandwich spot in Eureka. Unfortunately, the sandwich prices have doubled and they put less than half as much meat on them as they used to. I was shocked when I saw that the one slice of cheese they put on my sandwich was thicker than the meat. So I decided to put it on my kitchen scale and the three thinly shaved slices they put on my sandwich weighed an 1/8 of a pound. I had to take the top half of the bread off eat it open face and go get a second lunch five minutes later. The new owners need to step their game up. I'll never find out if they do though, cause this is my last trip there after being a customer for over twenty years.

The people that work here have the worst customer service. Talking on their cell phones. Not honoring price tags. Barely responding to greetings or questions. Also, the avocado they sold us today was rotten. Won’t be returning. So sad because this location is so convenient.

The new owner have absolutely destroyed this once staple treasure of our little neighborhood. They jacked up the prices and discontinued 75 percent of the stock, shelves are barren at times and nobody wants to work for these people. They had a regular staff of familiar faces including the nice owners, but the new owners that bought the place recently have created a very unwelcoming atmosphere, person at checkout is on their phone or has no clue to how help. The sandwiches are almost double the price now and not good. It hurts to see a treasure go to the wayside. I assume unless they survive off alcohol sales that all their regulars who came here for years myself over a decade, will just not come back, the new owners suck. Goodbye myrtle market : (
