Little Japan 商店 is a great little market offering tons of Japanese food and ingredients that are impossible to find almost anywhere else in Humboldt. It is a very well-stocked store with a nice diversity of rices, soy sauces, soup bases, ramen, boba-making ingredients, cool drinks, and any sushi ingredient or supplies one can think of. The store also carries a great selection of knife supplies. While some items are familiar, there is also a ton of stuff that is really weird or unique, providing alternatives not found in most stores. The prices are spot on and just as good as other retailers. The staff is very friendly, helpful, super knowledgeable, and always provides great service, often steering customers in the right direction and even carrying items out to the car. This creates a great shopping experience that many look forward to, especially during busy times like Japanese holidays. The store is a cool place and a highly recommended spot in Eureka. A minor point is that it is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
