Big SHOUT OUT for William, Henry (Hank). and Chris... HTS drivers, for giving me a short hop lifts this week/ end. Next month I'll spring for the $10.00 extra on my monthly Bus pass. Getting up and down 4th and 5th is near impossible without it, and I thought my ETS pass covered it. Whoops!

All the drivers help me get to my apartment on time and I really super appreciate that lot and thank you very much to all the drivers on January 31st 2024 that was on a Wednesday.

Used the Web site to see my options. To get to the Eureka mall from my nearest gold stop 4 blocks away it would take half an hour and cost 2.60 round trip, not bad. I might ride a bicycle and try not to get run over by unchecked speeders and have my replacement bike not get stolen by someone with bolt cutters. But this is a good option for a rainy day with an umbrella.

Buses are late frequently but they are good people willing to work with you and most importantly they provide a safe experience!

Schedule is not the best and they have no phone app

Dial-a-rode is not dependable. I have been left waiting for scheduled ride on many occasions. I now call the day before to confirm the appointment, and I get the name of the person I speak to. I have missed numerous doctors appointments because they don't have any record of me scheduling a ride, two days after the call is made. I wish there were better options for the disabled who do not drive.

The problems with the public transportation here in Humboldt County are too many to list here. From rude and mean drivers to essentially no reduction in price for the disabled community or seniors and vastly limited schedules and not putting down the ramp for disabled seniors who use walkers, and the list goes on. And yes, I am leaving Humboldt County in the near future and hta is definitely one of the reasons I'm leaving.

Usually on time, fair rates. Good access points. Drivers are usually courteous, with a few exceptions. Rule#1 arrive before the scheduled time of access and they will be late. Rule#2 if you arrive a minute late to the access point, they will be on time and you miss your bus. Rule#3 there are no guarantees that your bus will show up regardless of rules #1 and #2
