Was on a road trip from New York to San Diego, and the check engine light came on in Arizona. Made it to San Diego, but needed to have the issue resolved before we left for the rest of the trip. Couldn't get an appointment at any of the local Volvo dealers before next week, but was able to get a 10 am Saturday appt. at Vol-Spec. A dishonest repair shop could have easily tried to rip me off, but that's not what happened. Axel could not have been nicer, he patiently explained the problem to me (which resulted from the quality of gasoline I had been putting in the car while out west) and charged me a very modest amount for the work his mechanics did. Overall, it was a very positive experience. I highly recommend Axel and Vol-Spec to any Volvo owner who needs work done in the San Diego/Escondido area.

I didn't realize how important it was to go to a Volvo-specific mechanic for my XC40 until I made an appointment with them for my check engine light. Two other mechanics could not diagnose the issue, but V-Spec were able to correctly diagnose right away. Very fair pricing and the owner (Axel) was a Master Technician for Volvo for years before starting his own shop. From someone who loathes going to the dealer, finding a Volvo expert who I can trust to tell me the truth and not charge excessive prices for basic services is like a magic unicorn. It sucks to have to repair and maintain a car, but it's a necessary evil and I have peace of mind having Axel take care of my car. Will definitely use again.

Went out of their way to help me out... my car broke down on the way home from work on Friday afternoon. They stayed late to receive my car from AAA Tow Truck, checked it out on Saturday and had it fixed before lunch on Monday! Great stuff! Will be returning... Thank you!
