I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado that was having transmission trouble. I brought it in and Nino made me feel really good about the work that they would do. He ASSURED me that they were THE place to have a transmission rebuilt in this area. They are the "Transmission Pros" right?! I really paid through the nose for this rebuild at a price of $4500. When I got the truck back, I was initially pleased, but within a few days a humming noise coming from the transmission, a day after that the truck started shifting really hard. Like someone kicking the back of my seat. So I had the truck back in under their 1 year warranty. About a week later I got the truck back and was assured that everything was fine and that they replaced the torque converter (why wasn't that done in the first place?). I go back to driving the truck, a few weeks later.... Hard shifting again this time, though it's intermittent. Happens every couple times I go to drive my truck. So I haul it back to the shop. This time they tell me it's a different part in the transmission (again why wasn't this replaced when I paid for my rebuild?). I get the truck back and all is fine for a couple months. This evening I hopped into the truck, and what do you know? Extremely hard shifting YET AGAIN. All of this leads me to believe that Trans pros is doing the bare minimum in terms of repair, leaving an unknown amount of issues still unaddressed with my transmission. I will have it in YET AGAIN FOR THE 3RD TIME. I am beyond frustrated and feel like I'm just getting dicked around by these guys until the year warranty is up. I will update this review when this is resolved.

Brought my Subaru Outback in after getting quotes from other places ranging from $8000-$12000 to completely replace the CVT.Nino and his team ended up fixing it for just under $4000. Not cheap, by any means, but definitely more than fair considering the amount of labor that goes into removing and replacing the CVT, not to mention the time spent repairing it.Everyone was very friendly, polite, and professional! I hope I don't ever need to have any serious transmission work done again, but if I do, I'll definitely bring it here.

Did not perform work properly. Our transmission was slipping, so we had it rebuilt. Unfortunately, they did not replace the rear main seal on motor. Consequently, it started leaking oil after a few weeks. Nino from Transmission Pros did not take responsibility and said we would have to pay another $1600 to pull transmission and replace the seal. If you get a transmission rebuilt, insist that the rear main seal be replaced. We had the seal fixed elsewhere.

Had a total rebuild transmission due to parts shortage. After 3 weeks in the shop and $6k out of pocket (plus $1k for a rental car), the transmission wasn't operating properly. I called the shop. They made it seem like I didn't know what I was experiencing. Brought the car back for another week - they admitted to an error in the rebuild and fixed the problem. Unfortunately there aren't many companies that provide this service but the experience wasn't a good one.

Had my car towed here and they did a diagnostic to confirm it was a transmission problem. Ended up getting it towed the Ford dealership since it was still under warranty, but Nino was very helpful and didn't even charge me for the quick diagnostic. Highly recommendedService: Transmission

Transmission Pros of Escondido replaced the transfer case on my SUV. Price quoted was the price paid. I appreciated the transparency in pricing and clear communication on the repair needed. Good and honest shop. Thank you.

I brought an older car in to Transmission Pros for a diagnostic of transmission problems. I explained up front that we did not want to spend a lot of money on the car. The initial quote to diagnose was about $200, but after a few days they called to say that the transmission needed a complete rebuild for a total of $4000. I said that the car was not worth that, and they claimed that what they had done so far, including removal of the transmission to fully inspect, would cost about $1000 just to tow the car away. I do not recall being given that figure ahead of time, though the shop claimed that they did. In any case, they certainly did not make the $1000 diagnostic charge clear as I would have told them to stop their work before incurring that much of a charge.Service: Transmission

They are pros alright and they're even willing to work with you. Found everything that was wrong with my car and advised me not to keep it. Repairs would double what i bought it for.

Having issues with my transmission on my Silverado. Talked to a young man about rebuilding and upgrading my transmission with a billet torque converter. After being transferred to nino or Dino to talk about pricing I decided to look elsewhere. This Nino/Dino character talked to me like I was incompetent. All I was trying to do was get pricing on the torque converter upgrade and he tells me, "No offense, but you don't know what your talking about." Granted, I called the torque converter a torque inverter. But you work at a transmission shop, you should know what I'm trying to explain. I don't rebuild transmissions all day, everyday like you say you do. I'm calling you to give YOU work, I'm not calling to be talked down to and educated on all the bells and whistles of a transmission and the correct pronunciation of them! Unless your getting a killer deal here, I'd suggest you spend your hard earned money somewhere else. $4,500 to rebuild a transmission. I can get a new one installed for under $3,500!

I had car issues and it was in the shop for 2+days. When I picked it up they were very nice and because he didn't work on the car, it was a service charge only.

After another shop failed twice to correctly replace the transmission in our Toyota Rav4, Transmission Pros replaced it and it's been running smoothly like new for that past three months. The owner even gave me a brief tutorial on what the other shop might have done wrong, which helped me get a refund there. Thanks!

The check engine light popped on in my work van. It was for low transmission fluid pressure. These guys fit me in the same day to check it out for me, understanding it was a work vehicle. They called me to let me know that there was internal damage, and they would need to remove the transmission and open it up to find out where the damage was. I explained the situation that I was personally in since it is an older work vehicle with high mileage. They understood it didn't make sense for me to spend the money for the repair on the van when it's not worth that much money. These guys are responsive, flexible, knowledgeable, and understanding. I'll be coming back here anytime I have a transmission issue.

This must be North County's best kept secret. I talked to Nino and the owner's son on the phone and was convinced they knew what they were talking about and they have the years of reliable service to prove it. My car needed a transmission kit as well as the torque converter and they were able to fix my car within a couple days at a very reasonable price. Car runs great and I a very happy customer.
