Dropped by with my son's girlfriend yesterday for the first time. It is a lovely, well-organized shop with friendly staff. I read other reviews about high prices, but this shop is in line with the prices elsewhere. Clothing was half price and they had lovely items, but I no longer buy without trying clothing on. Alas, they have no change room probably because of the huge problem with theft facing all thrift stores. This shop carries housewares, sewing and knitting items, some furniture, clothing, handbags, jewelry, books and more. Worth the time to stop by. Better than expected.

Thus to be my favorite local thrift shop. Now the staff is rarely friendly, and the prices are very inflated. They no longer have Christian prayers and holy cards at the entrance. Occasionally they have a small box or two of free bakery items to pick through, but I’ve noticed bugs in there several times. So disappointing for a Christian based organization.

This is a surprisingly large thrift store, with a little of everything from the usual clothes and books to furniture and housewares, with a variety of interesting decorative items. In fact, there are so many things in this store, that there isn't much room to walk around. Some garments are a little out of order (I was looking for sports bras and found them in 3 very different racks!), so be sure to look at several racks if you're looking for something specific. So-so prices, but I did find things that I was happy to trade for my money. I'll definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.

I have been coming here for years, not sure what's changed but suddenly it's super expensive. The lady they have as the pricer isn't very friendly and doesn't know how to look up comps for prices. They now have copies of Ebay listings taped to items trying to justify their high prices. That's not how to price items and it usually drives many buyers, such as myself, away. You have to go by SOLD listings. Anyone can price an item for sale at any price, doesn't mean it will sell for that price. Sold listing is how you find true market value. I hope they figure it out, it was one of my favorite thrift spots in Escondido and sadly, I don't think I will be going back any time soon.

I used to love this store. Earlier this year they got a new manager. The whole vibe has changed since she took over. Today I went there to shop and donate. Usually the donation area has people to help you.Not today. The whole area was a mess. The prices are ridiculous. Small White Christmas tree 2 to 3 feet, $15. You could buy a new one for that price. What a shame!

I will always come to this place, I walked in with my baby in her stroller and I was told no strollers allowed, the ladies asked me to leave my baby by the door and they will keep an eye on her, who does that? I've never had a problem walking in a store with my stroller. Never coming back I felt bad. First time mom hopefully nowhere else they ask me to do this.

Ridiculously over priced . I would love coming here because the prices where amazing for a mom of 2 and now I don’t know who is in charge of pricing stuff but they need to fired .. I went a week ago and the clothing is way to over priced. Found a couple basket ball shorts Walmart brand looked online for price of new items literally 60c difference ? .. there shirts are even worse some from stores that don’t even exist.

So they get stuff donated to them, correct ? So why is everything so expensive ? It seems that the persons that go there to shop are low income ppl like myself, looking for affordable stuff. You won't find that here anymore. I started stopping by here years ago. Then a new manager took over and all the prices were increased. The lady that is there on Saturdays is "Betsy", (I believe). She is horrible. Only friendly to her staff and some customers, others she will snub or worse. She in my opinion is racist. If you are brown she will treat you even worse. There is no haggling over a price for something with her, if she doesn't care for your face. I know it has happened to me. My other concern is the "free" pantry food they get, if it is given to them for free in order to help ppl in the community, then why are you coerced into giving a "donation" for it ? That is sooooo wrong, and obviously another way the store is making money on the poor. I am not sure that it can actually be a non profit store at this point. Maybe take out the "religious" affiliation in the name of the store. Oh, sorry that would probably mean that they would have to pay taxes on all the money made on the free items they get and sell....

Great stuff but most of the employees were not wearing their mask properly. The two ladies at the front had their masks way below their nose. Even when checking out customers (who were all wearing masks) the lady at the register was talking to customers with her mask down to her mouth.

A terrible experience. I drove over an hour north to come to their "blowout book sale EVERYTHING $0.50" , or at least that is what their online advertisement claimed. When I arrived they also had a big bright sign for this sale on their front door. I spent over 2 hours looking through about 5 full aisles of books. Within that time I had gathered well over 30 books. As I was ready to make my purchases at the register I was told that each book was priced about $6-12 EACH. I go to thrift stores for books often and this pricing alone for USED books is a total scam. They proceeded to tell me that only a very small UNMARKED table of books out the BACK DOOR of there store was apart of the $0.50 sale AND that if I wanted to look through them I would have to come back in 3 days to do so because they were closing. Note that this was after I had expressed that I had driven over an hour for this sale and would now be leaving with nothing.Aside from the blatant online false advertisement what upset me the most from my entire experience was that both women working the register had no sympathy for my case and even talked to me like I was idiotic for even assuming that the books I wanted to buy were on sale even though all there bookshelves were labeled with "all books 50% off SALE" but not a single book was marked with a price. After calmly stating my argument they shooed me and my sister out the store and refused to show any sympathy for our case, not even a "I'm sorry for the inconvenience". Both VERY rude women, but after reading the other comments I guess this behavior isn't only exclusive to me.Also note that while I was at the register there was also another elderly couple who were making the same argument about the misleading book sale who also had received the same horrible attitude and left with nothing. As for pricing, they were trying to sell an item of IKEA furniture for $20 more than the retail price, I would know this because I own the exact dresser. This is absolutely absurd considering they brand themselves as a thrift store but in reality are just selling overpriced used junk. I am 23 years old and consider myself to be very level headed during frustrating moments. I have never once written a review about any establishment before; however, after having such a terrible experience I had to write a warning.

I have purchased several item from them in the past. But I have noticed that all of their prices on furniture keep going up and up...I went in today and was shocked at how high their prices were on used donated furniture...it looks like I may not return to this store because of their high prices...

It is closed and I miss it so much. I have purchased so many items here. I always check in to see what items have come in. The person in charge is a real nice woman. She is very reasonable. I have dropped off so many beautiful things myself. I only donate to them. I haven't bought clothes even though I have donated so many awesome shoes and clothes to them (Calvin Klein etc). The housewares section is where you will find me. Take your time and browse. I am looking for a lace tablecloth and can't wait till they open. So many wonderful donated items for a non-profit store.

The shop is run with hard working and a dedicated staff. Items are clean and organized. If you can't find what your looking for, they are more than happy to take your name and number and call you when they get the item in. Happy hunting!
