This place used to be a favorite of mine for some Mexican food on my way home in the evening. Usually I'd pick up a burrito or some tacos. Over the years, the quality and service has degraded to the point where I won't stop there anymore. Burritos used to be large and generous with portions...not anymore; they're at least 25% smaller. Their prices increased (like everywhere else--after Covid), but the quality diminished. The workers that cook, the food are usually kind and helpful. Except for two younger ladies who have no sense of humor and look like they don't want to be there. I always tip a couple of extra bucks every time, but when you ask for extra salsa they give you a blank stare like they never heard you.

Just arrived in Escondido, needed a place for lunch. This is a restaurant located within a Carniceria. Not fancy, not a place for fine dining. Fortunately, we did not need fancy, all we needed was good hot food. The Wednesday soup special was Caldo de Res. I love Caldo de Res. Have not had any for several months as I needed a place that understands Mexican home cooking. Caldo de Res Huge steaming hot bowl of tender cooked beef with corn, carrots and cabbage. Served with cilantro, chopped onion and lime on the side. Precisely what I was in the mood for. The beef was tender and flavorful. I did have to remove a fair amount of fat. The corn, carrots and cabbage flawless. The broth could have used a tad more flavor, depth. It was delicious and I finished it all. It was a 4-star bowl of Caldo de Res. I will definitely be ordering this dish again. Service was exceptional. Staff here all 5-star. Everyone was beyond accommodating. I will definitely be back.

3 stars because food from kitchen is only ever good if a guy is working back there. Funny cause it’s usually the other way around, but every time I go for lunch and I call in or order at the cashier the order is messed up.

This family owned local restaurant provides excellent homemade Mexican dishes! - I've been eating here for many years, and never have I been disappointed! I have also attended events that were catered by this restaurant and staff, again.... Excellent service, and Superior food quality. Featured as well, is a meat market where you will find a variety of meats, and the best prices on seasoned chicken and ribeye steaks in town!! If you're looking for a locally owned and operated restaurant and meat market - look no further than the Latino's Market conveniently located on Grand Ave and Center City Pkwy! CC Shafer

Worst tamales I have ever had. The cheese in the cheese tamales was like rubber. The masa had not flavor, very bland.

Searching for a late night snack and I remembered this location for its burritos. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were major improvements made to the market. It was bright and very clean. And the patrons that were there seemed to be having a great time. The menu is extensive. Order at the register and pickup when done. We ordered tamales and enjoyed them at home. They also sell frozen tamales as well. Very authentic Mexican fare. Prices are reasonable. And it tastes great!!!

Can't go wrong with their meat selection pick up some adobada today too make some tacos. It cam out great ? there salas is on point must go with the habanero one. The ? needs some serranos it it but still good. Small selection of products but they carry everything you need for a carne asada. I have used them for big parts they have plenty of good ready to go carne asada. Also there rice and beans complement the meat really well.

Considering our son that was supposed to bring home some Mexican food after going up Nate Harrison Grade/Mount Palomar after the huge amounts of fresh snow that was dropped, this place definitely hit the spot. When we found out he was not going to be home until later that evening, we decided to turn to Grub Hub and see what still delivers to us out in the middle of nowhere. We had already had a couple of cocktails each and were not willing to drive anywhere and our desire to prepare Mexican cuisine was not gonna happen either. "Hey, Grub Hub still has several options and Latinos Meat Market is one of the restaurants available . . . wanna give it a try?", I said to my wife. We live somewhat remotely, and delivery services out here was always limited to just Round Table Pizza. Tonight we decided to see if Grub Hub was still delivering since Grub Hub (others now also still available) had started delivering here since the beginning of the pandemic. We had concluded that using delivery services was about the same (cost wise) as going out if we order a couple of cocktails at the restaurant; plus, we don't have to worry about getting a DUI. Using Grub Hub we identified a couple of other Mexican cuisine restaurants that provided delivery. We decided to try Latinos as another option since we really only wanted some kind of takeout Mexican fare. We ordered a Carne Asada plate, a Quesadilla and a 3-pack of Taquitos. Everything arrived still pretty hot (hot enough). What would have cost about $25 (nowadays) at a local drive-through, cost us about $55 including $10 in tips. For sitting home in our comfortable environment while watching movies and drinking our cocktails in our pajamas, that seemed like a bargain price. Latrino's is standard American Mexican fare done just about as right as any other Mexican takeout. The order was filled properly and included everything in the bags (red and green salsas, napkins, forks AND spoons). Just upon opening the bags, I had realized I didn't order any carrots. Damn!!! We may just have to stop by here again in the future to check out "the meats". . . and the carrots. Dicks
