I can't say enough good things about John and his crew. They went above and beyond when I arrived with a flat tire a few weeks ago. They fixed it swiftly and had me back on the road in under an hour. I can’t say enough about this business.
Trying to find a place to have work done on a vehicle is stressful and doesn’t generally enlist feelings of trust.
I can bring my vehicle here and know they are going to be thorough and explain things to me with respect and honesty.
I always get a clear understanding of:
1)what needs done now
2)what could wait but highly advised
3)what I should be planning for in the future but can wait for now.

Love the service and attention I receive from both John and Wayne every time I visit. The service charges are quite reasonable. Biggest plus is, they explain the work in detail, what the root cause is and the solution thereof.

I was referred to these guys and decided to try them out after being a long term Direct Tire customer. After assessing my tire situation he said I had a good 10,000 miles left on my tires. THAT was not expected. He helped me pick out my tires when I do come in, and I price checked them, slightly cheaper overall than DT. I'm sold!

I really didn't want to give them a bad review but my most recent interaction with them was awful so here it is. First time we went there was in 2010-ish. Got the lifetime alignment with them for my car. Everything was fine that time. After that, things turned "interesting." Here are my negative experiences with them. 1. Questionable repair. A year or so later, took my teen daughter's car to them for an oil gasket change. They did that but then returned the car with the engine light on and asked to charge for an oxygen sensor that magically broke. Whatever, wasn't happy but didn't leave a bad review. 2. Unauthorized charge on my card. Without having been there for months, a charge from them appeared on my credit card. I called them to inquire. The lady apologized, said that they charged me by mistake for someone else's repair. Apparently, they save your credit card information. Um, excuse me?! Why would you save my credit card information? I never allowed that. I asked them to delete my credit card from their system. They did. I still did not leave a bad review. 3. My 4-wheel alignment was not good. They couldn't quite get my alignment done. There were still 2 red parameters on the paper they gave me to show me what they did. I had no time to argue. I didn't leave a bad review either. 4. Don't trust their "lifetime" alignment. They made it impossible for me to take advantage of it. I called recently called and scheduled a 4-wheel alignment. I explained that my family moved to Orange County but since I had some appointments in the area, I would like to get my free alignment done. I wondered if they would make it hard for me. I had a feeling they would since they wouldn't be making any money on it. But John and I agreed on a time and I hoped that would be it. I wasn't surprised a day before my appointment to get a phone call from them to tell me that they couldn't see me on that day, even though I scheduled a week in advance. Apparently, they were busy. The fact that I scheduled a week in advance, that that was my only chance to get it done since I didn't live in the area anymore did not matter. They chose to take the work that would make them money. No customer appreciation. It hurts me to leave a family business a bad review but my experience with them was not positive on multiple occasions. Between the questionable repair, the unauthorized charge on my card, the sloppy alignment, and making it impossible for me to get the lifetime alignment that I paid for, I am done. I will never take any of my cars there, even if we return to the area some day. I would also tell all of my friends still living there to avoid this place because they seem to be more money than customer oriented. Sorry, I am done with this place.

I came to Hawthorne Tire & Auto on a recommendation, and I have to say they go above and beyond! Despite them not being able to help me with my son's car (by no fault of theirs), he unfortunately has a special kind of freon required for his car, they quickly referred me to another shop and were so gracious and helpful throughout. The people here are genuine and made me feel so welcomed. If I have any other car concerns I would not hesitate to go to them again and would recommend them to anyone who has car troubles.

I was referred to Hawthorne some time back when we moved to town. John, Wayne and the crew have been a great help not only fixing but also maintaining our vehicles. For as long as we will be in town, Hawthorne will be my goto shop.
