Tried these guys for the first time since Audi Carlsbad's prices have gotten ridiculously high. Pleasant experience - the guys were friendly and the service turned out to be excellent. Brakes and oil change done very well - will defiantly go back,

I used EGA a couple of times. On this last service they overcharged me almost $800. They had duplicate quantities of each part on each line item, not 1 but 4. I'm not sure how this could of happened unknowingly as I am sure their invoices are tied into inventory as well as reviewed by service advisor (Austin)Update- If you assume that people dont make mistakes on purpose then you have to agree that mistakes are made for only one of two reasons, either because of a lack of knowledge or lack of attention, period. If you admit that your parts person is knowledgeable (I assume he is) then he made the mistake due to lack of attention (not once, but 4 times). The second error was that you did not catch the mistake when I paid for the service, only after I called back and brought it to your attention that line item 1 had a quantity of 4 instead of 1, then as I recall, you tried to tell me that 4 WAS the correct quantity (as if there are 4 coolant pipes). I then reviewed the other line items and noticed they were also a quantity of 4 as well (all incorrect). The error was repeated not once but 4 times which would indicate it was not a single error. I did not 'threaten' (odd choice of words) you regarding the manifold coolant pan, I was concerned as BMW requires changing the pan as the sealing gasket is integral to the pan and I do not want to have to bring the car back for a repair that should have been done in the first place and questioned you. I appreciate your willing to credit me the 'mistake'. This is my wife's car and if I had not reviewed the invoice carefully, she would be out almost $800... I consider that more than beer money. It concerns me how many other customer invoices are you not carefully reviewing? Let me ask you, would you honestly give yourself more than one star for this service? My name is not Jon by the way.

EGA has always provided excellent service and support for many of our German cars. This trip back was to replace an OEM part in my coolant system that was installed over a year ago. The issue was not something they did wrong but a failure of a new BMW part that was installed. To my surprise, EGA warranted the part, labor, and fluids. Not what I expected as it was a factory replacement from over a year ago. Trust them in their recommendations! Thank you, EGA!P.S. - I always appreciate the car wash!

I was referred to Escondido German Auto by a stranger and I’m so happy I listened. I had taken my car to another place and suddenly I had problems. A sudden oil leak for starters. Erica and Austin were very helpful. I recieved pictures of the areas that needed work with explanations of each. My car was 14 yo so things are wearing and now it’s 16 yo and running great! I have complete confidence in this business.Services: Transmission

Escondido German Auto saved me $5000! I went to them for a second opinion after the BMW dealership quoted me $5K to fix a ventilation systems engine problem on my 2017 X1. Escondido German Auto not only precisely diagnosed the exact problem (which the dealership got partially wrong), but on their own initiative, searched and found a manufacturer emissions warranty and told me to go back to the dealership to have it fixed for free. Well, I did, and now I'm cruising my X1 with a fully functional engine at NO EXTRA cost. Thank you Escondido German Auto for your honesty and technical expertise!

Took my Mercedes C250 to diagnose a leak. Was told turbo oil cooler line was leaking. Quoted $779 to replace a $33 part. Plus they charged $179 to diagnose on top of that quote. So I just ended up doing it myself. So it’s fixed but still got a leak. So they just guess what’s leaking without giving accurate diagnosis. Guessing by process of elimination is in accurate and costly.

Nice people and qualified. Was a little expensive but that's the nature of German cars. Would go again. Update: still a nice place. People know their stuff and communicate everything well. Would recommend.

Walking into Escondido German Auto, the warm welcome by workers sets a great tone. Their commitment to top-tier customer service and meticulous car care is evident, with regular updates and a clean car return. I've trusted them with my Q5 for four years, and they've never disappointed.Their promptness during my Audi's first service was impressive, and the in-depth review of the service - with photos and data charts - exceeded expectations. Their text reminders for due services are a helpful touch, and the complimentary car wash is a fantastic finish. Can't recommend EGA enough for their superb service!

Last Monday, my check license plate bulb. thinking I could pop it in myself, so i go to O'Reilly's, purchase the bulbs and popped the trunk for the guy.Lo and behold, you have to take the trunk liner and other stuff all out to get to it. I dropped by EGA Wednesday and it turns out it would be at least 30 minutes + and it was too late in the day, so I made an appointment for Friday. In the interim, I told one of my engineers about, he said you have the bulb, yes, lets go look, i can do it save your money. Of course I said, I'm taking it in. Thank Goodness, I did keep my appointment. After the bulb was replaced and during the 25 point check, I was advised I had a slit in my left tire and losing air. of course, which my friend would have never detected. I had left my phone at home 1 mile away, wanted to get to get before going to the tire store. They all insisted I go straight to the tire store, which I did do. The only bad thing was it was an hour an 1/2 wait and with no phone I couldn't get an Uber home, so I ended up walking around the Salvation Army (next door)and picked up a few things Let me tell you! That was the best money I have ever spent to replace a lightbulb, LOL !!I'm on the road/freeway a lot, not just to work. San Diego, El Cajon, Murrieta, Lake ElsinoreBetter than GREAT!!!!!

It is so reassuring to work with a shop that you can trust and one that provides excellent, quality work. During an oil change on my Cayenne, an oil leak was discovered. EGA provided me a couple of options after confirming what Porsche is currently advising and the work was promptly completed. The shop manager reviewed what was done, what to look for in the future, and answered all my questions thoroughly. Excellent customer service from Austin & Erica and the technicians doing the work.Services: General repairs & maintenance

brought my vehicle in because of a check engine light, They got back to me the next day with the diagnoses, They told me that it needed a new valve cover, all new spark plugs, all new ignition coils, with a cost of 3,400 dollars. And that would be the first cost. They went on and told me that they may have to replace the timing chain and adjust the camshaft which would cost around another 2,000 dollars. Decided to pay the 169 diagnostic fee and take my car somewhere else for second opinion...Mind you that EGA just replaced the valve cover 5 years ago. I had all sparks plugs replaced 3 months ago before this problem accrued and 2 ignition coils replaced by a different mechanic. So happy that my vehicle is fixed and the total cost, parts and labor came to 700 dollars. The problem was oil on top of spark plugs Which the mechanic had to pull the valve cover and replace the seals which was the problem, valve cover was fine. Install a crankshaft sensor and install a new valve cover gasket. No ignition coils needed.Just had my vehicle smogged and it runs great.Total cost Parts, Labor and smog $760Please be aware!!!

Although I called in with a last minute oil change request, with no appointment. I was very very impressed with Austins professionalism!Austin suggested if I could drop my car off before one, they would do their best to squeeze me in.Of course, it was magical how they made it happenI was absolutely floored to get the text that my car was actually ready for me to pick up.I will, of course, highly recommendService: Oil change
