Just want to comment in here how amazing Robert Kelly is. He is the most patient and courteous banker ever. He was so helpful and patient with aunt who is elderly and has trouble with 'new technology'. This world needs more people like Robert. Thank you Citibank and thank you Robert for all your help.

I've been a Citibank customer for over 20 years. They have been slowly closing their branches over the last 5 years doing all their business online. I applied for a new cash back card online. I had to go out of town on business and Citibank tried to call me twice to verify additional information while I was flying. My credit is close to 800, so that is not the issue. I called 6 different numbers and couldn't connect to the right person. I went to the local branch and was told there was nothing they could do. I finally talked to someone who said it was their policy to only call twice and you have to start over again. I think customer satisfaction is a thing of the past at Citibank.

I was having issues with a promotion I signed up for a couple months ago. I spent a couple hours trying to talk to customer service on the phone to no avail and I was incredibly frustrated, so I drove to this branch ready to close my account. Vilma helped me resolve it in mere minutes with no issue. Citibank's phone customer service is the worst I've ever experienced, but the help I got at this branch was so much better.

I have been using Citibank with both a savings and checking acct until this week when I will be closing both. The ATM literally ate $1,000 when I was trying to deposit money two days ago. Instead the machine spit out a receipt that said there had been a technical error, but my account would be credited soon. I went into the branch and was told it COULD TAKE UP TO TEN BUSINESS DAYS TO GET IT TAKEN CARE OF!!!! Really? During a time when so many are out of work, myself included, they’ll give me MY money in 10 business days. They would, they said, be glad to loan me some money, as a quick review of my “information” told them. Anyone else willing to do this? I wasn’t either.

Terrible service all around, by phone or in person. I called this branch to ask what documents I needed to open an account. They told me a list and told me to go to the branch. When I got there, Mayte, a bank teller, rudely told me I actually needed an appointment to be seen because they were too busy. Mayte kept giving me attitude, and she lied about their availability, until Rob, the one who works on those types of accounts, said they had something open for that same day. I came back for the appointment, worked on the application, and was told I'd hear back the next day by noon and Rob would call me back. The next day happens, and it turns out that it was his day off. So I call again the next day after, and they tell me that I didn't need to speak to Rob after all, but they rudely tell me they can't give me any more info. I tried to call the corporate phone for an answer, but they just did a cold-transfer to the branch. Every time I call Citibank, no matter on what number, I get as much attitude as the previous rep. I'm surprised Citibank has such crappy customer service. I bank with them, paying higher than normal monthly fees, expecting basic respect, but I get nothing but attitude every time I try to interact with this company. I could have the same if not better service at a free local credit union, so I am definitely closing all my accounts at Citibank. Shame on you.

I went in on Wednesday to open a savings account (I have a checking account with them). I was told to come back Tomorrow and make an appointment because the person who opens new accounts was at lunch and he has to make his own appointments. I returned on Thursday and spoke to a teller who said that that same person was on the phone and then had "some other things' to take care of, could I come back later the same day." I said no and called the San Marcos branch to make an appointment. The person there told me that I had to have a form of ID with my current address. I said that I had a temporary Ca. license with my address. She said" We don't accept that". I said that I had a passport, she said "those don't have addresses" I said that on the passport, right below the signature, it says to write in your address there, IN PENCIL. Which I have. She then said, " we don't accept addresses written in pencil" I will withdraw all the money in my checking account and go to another bank.

ATM is constantly down. Bank hours are ridiculous. Staff are mostly idiots, who could care less about other people's time. Especially when a client has to interrupt his or her workday to make a menial transaction. I will can these yahoos promptly.
