I regularly shop at Vons Encinitas. Lately I have been underwhelmed with the overwhelming changes in pricing and confusing discount offers. I was mischarged on two items, after spending a lot of time searching for and clipping deals. I "swore" to myself that I was done w/Vons. Then... I went back to speak to the manager Haywood, and he was very helpful with correcting the mistake. His personality is hot & cold, depending on the day and the employees, but this day was good. I realized that he and the staff are dealing with a confusing and constant revising of the way Von's promotes items and offers, it's not the employees fault. Thanks to Hayward and the employees, I will continue shopping at Vons/Safeway. I've been a customer in all west coast states for over 40 years.

Really helpful & gracious employees. Usually not mobbed with shoppers. Easy parking. Great selection of produce. Priced like all the major super markets, but good sales & digital deals.

Never imagined leaving a bad review for a grocery store but your deli clerk literally... wow. I understand working in the customer service industry but to interact with someone who is actually being respectful and patient with you just so negatively is wild. Dragged over to see what I needed and just stared until i started speaking. Told me I needed to give the name of the sandwich when what I just said was literally the name of the sandwich. I cannot fathom staring at someone every time they speak like please put some effort.

What happened to customer service. Just spent over a $100 and was treated badly by the cashier. Didn't have time to find an expiration date for me. Now I have to go to a different store

I was there at 2pm. I asked them to please heat up the chicken pot pie. They refused. Why even have the sign that says hot chicken pot pie if it’s empty and you refuse to heat up one of the six cold ones you have in there.

WARNING: DO NOT PLACE CUSTOM CAKE ORDERS HERE. The cake I received for my birthday was a far cry from what I requested. I was promised over the phone by the manager that this Vons location's bakery was able to create custom cakes according to my specifications and that they were even able to make a custom cake topper and print images onto cakes. I sent an email to the bakery with reference photos and verbal specifications for the cake. The manager told me that they received the email and photos. I had a friend pick up the cake for me to bring to my birthday party and, needless to say, I was very sad and disappointed. The manager should have held his employees accountable to adhering to the instructions and reference photos and been honest with me if they were incapable of fulfilling my expectations. Instead, I was left with a horrible experience of disappointment on my birthday :(

Sort of a secret grocery store, hardly ever crowded.
