Local Scoop is the best! It’s a very thoughtfully designed store with all the pantry staples, cleaning supplies and soaps that you could need. The staff is always helpful and kind, and there is zero waste involved in the shopping experience. We’re grateful this store is in our local city. I hope to see more people shopping here to support a local business, and to reduce waste ?

We love our Local Scoop and feel so good about shopping there! The variety of things I can refill is awesome. Never again will I buy plastic containers for things such as lotion, dish soap and laundry soap. So glad I found this place!

5 stars for the kid who works here and for the dried persimmons and mushroom jerky. It's a cute little store south of the happening part of Encinitas and worth going a little bit out of your way for. They have everything from shampoos to dish soaps so bring your own container and fill it up!!

The Local Scoop is an excellent idea and good concept for any and all ages. You get to buy exactly what you want and how much in order to fit your own personal cooking needs. High quality products, fresh baked goods from local vendors, and so many delicious snacks, treats, beverages, spices, flours and tons of great household items for your home that helps the environment. Even the bags you fill up with are compostable-and if you like to take home something in a jar they have a wide selection of sizes that are cleaned, sanitized and free! Katie is a wealth of knowledge of all items in store!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. Local Scoop/The Nada Shop I was so excited to stop in the shop and check it out. As my father and I were walking thru the Lumberyard I noticed the shop. I had heard of shops like this with no packaging in other countries but I did not know we had one in town. I have lived in Carlsbad for over 30 years and have spent a lot of time in Encinitas. Unfortunately the customer service was so unwelcoming I had to leave before I could even enjoy the idea of the store. I was not greeted when I walked in. The store was empty, no one else was in there but the lady at the register area had such an attitude, I guess whatever she was looking at on her cell phone or tablet was more important than her 1 possible customer. I walked up to her to greet her and explained that I had been in there before, all she said to me was, "...we've been here four years. We now carry grocery items..." points to the grocery area and then went back to doing whatever was so important at her tablet/cell phone. As I'm looking around, with in probably 3 minutes at the most, a family walks in. OH! She greeted them. They explained they explained it was there first time in the store. She asked if she could help them find something and they said they were just browsing. She then comes out from behind the register desk area and starts to give them the pitch of the store. She says, "....so you've never been here before, we are..." and explains the concept of the store. That is when I left, because apparently I was worthy of the speal, my Carlsbad $ is not good enough for her Encinitas store. HI! Pretty Women movie experience.... "...big mistake....huge!" I will never go in there again, you have kissed my Carlsbad $ goodbye.

I have shopped here a few times and love the selection of items. Everything you could need - body care items, pantry staples, and one of kind food items, too. I come here mostly to mix my own protein powder from the different bulk powders they offer. It is much better, fresher, and less expensive than store bought, plus I am not left with another big plastic container/scoop.

Love this shop! So many waste-free goodies and treats. Katie, the owner, answered my many questions and was so knowledgeable about all of the healthy choices available. Don’t think twice about stopping by Local Scoop if you’re in the Encinitas area!

This store is so beautiful - it’s full of yummy, locally sourced, affordable food. I see this store becoming a Encinitas institution for years to come. Couldn’t recommend more!
